These were always called reel mowers. My Dad had a Scott Bonnar. They had a slogan ad on tv probably in the 70s which said “Scott Bonnar treats ya lawn like a lawn”
My perennial Rye grass prefers to be cut at 3.3mm (.130") where the Bermuda likes to be at ~2.5mm (.100") Or maybe it's the golfers who prefer those heights... 😉

Hi Greg, Palmetto is a buffalo so likes to be cut a bit higher, 30-50mm in most cases. Best to have a chat to a cylinder mower supplier to see what they have available that can cut up to these heights or can be modified or reach out in the lawn fanatics group on facebook and see what others are using on their palmetto.
I have Sir grange lawn, and I mow with a Bushranger cylinder mower at 15mm beautiful stripes .

Never heard the phrase "cylinder" mower until today.
