When a quilter uses a clear template to pick out just the right pattern on the fabric it’s called a fussy cut. It is the same with patterned vinyl.

If you don’t feel like snipping the tops off since sometimes it spews everywhere, just take a push pin and stick it in the top. It keeps it from making a mess and contaminating your project.
