For one, in his voice line he says "let me accompany on your journey once again", meaning he was with us as a companion And because he is the Anemo Archon, God of Wind. He has wind powers, not magic black cubes. Not only that, he was apparently born form the tree of time or smth that was created by Istaroth, he was born as a wind spirit. Not to mention that in the Webtoons it's obvious that he has negative feelings towards Celestia and the Heavenly Principles. I say he might even be terrified of them. So him being a part of them makes little sense
I have a theory for your au and I would love if you put it in a video you don't have to of course this is just a sugestion So the theory is that ventis friend the unknown bard reincarnated into Divalan and that is one of the reasons Divalan is one of ventis close friends so when venti was chained up he was able to hear his friends last words "I wanted to see my friend again'' he was angry he never had felt this way before he was mad at his children for one of the first times in history, he wanted to take revenge for his friend his anger caused him to finally snap he broke though the chains that had kept him from being free and felt freedom for one of the first times in centuries he stayed in there for a while he to plot his revenge and to morn to his friend after a year he decided to finally leave and take revenge for his first and friend he decided to cause storms tear down houses and almost destroy the nation he had once loved so dearly the only people he left out of his vengance were kids,Jean,klee,noel,and razor(because he dosen't live in the main city of mondstate he only stopped when he felt as if his venganece was complete but he vowed ''I will never trust a singal soul on this mortal plane for they have betrayed me and slauthered the innocent''.
