I got unlucky on third phase; messed up my turn order and she casted Perfect Guard. I was like "ah whatever, Albion Wolf right?" And then nope, I ate it and it hurt. This was the fight I was talking about when I was ranting about Albion Wolf not working against Perfect Guard (or was it reflect?).
I guess Falcom wanted to avoid making the same mistake they did with CSIV final boss where you can just ignore reflect. lol The easiest way to deal with it is to just cast analyze, reflected analyze is harmless and it can be casted instantly even after the patch.
@@pigifi Technically back before Falcom released the October patch, you could instantly cast in both CS4 and Hajimari. CS4 even had the "Rean as the best art caster" setup where you could literally spam the most powerful arts of an element (the usual go to was Albion Wolf because it deals All Cancel and because Titania-Magius was the best art caster setup) and he'd only have a 1 delay. It used to be a 0 delay thing until Falcom patched it (though you could still make it a 0 delay with a speed BO like Fie, Kurt, Machias' BO). Hajimari still had a thing where you could just instantly cast arts like crazy (and I even had a Toval minigun build back then where he had a 0 delay art with a speed BO). Then Falcom released the October patch and suddenly, everyone had to do their "Arcus, activate" casting phase except Analyze for some reason (at least according to Racast; I still haven't tried it myself personally). I still miss my Toval minigun.
Ah, that's from the field. Everytime someone takes an action on their turn, they get a small damage because the field's on fire. This only happened once in CS4 and it wasn't even the final boss fight. Once the fire field's gone, he swapped back to Rean because it's safe for Rean to do whatever he wants without getting toasted.
@@rvlast That's weird. I couldn't tell that there is still a field effect. No attack declarations or anything weird on the field itself. At least with the example on CS4, there is the constant flames in the field as an indicator.
@@pigifi Yeah it's kinda hard to tell. She did her field attack on her first turn after she did her Anti Order. Don't remember how many player turns it takes to take them off but that's the reason why he's spamming Kurt's Blade Dance; because it's a cheap, 0 delay craft.
@@rvlast Yeah, the 0 delay crafts (Blade Dance and Burning Heart) are the best way to deal with the Anti Orders, especially the ones that focus on multiplying delay along with EP and CP cost. Just noticed the field attack and effects BTW. Was wondering why didn't it deal damage the whole time. Thought it was simply a knockback attack. Is this boss fight along with the Trial doors replayable? I remember that you get sent back to the TRC after the final boss. Does this still apply here? Given how this boss works, giving everyone Chevalier and Magius MQ is a must.

Yeah, only doesn't work on Perfect Reflect. Works on perfect guard.

The most dissapointing thing about this fight is that you didn't have the Mishy head on Rufus like in the thumbnail smh.
What's funny is that Falcom hid C's identity in the calendar by doing the exact same thing

@@pigifi yes you can re fight it if you want. The game even says it after you finish it the first time. Just gotta reset the TRC to do it.
