If the coronavirus ever goes away you need to come visit, I live a couple of hours from New Orleans and you would love New Orleans Jazz Fest. The Meters, all kinds of funk, blues, jazz, and reggae music. A lot of U.K musicians play there as well, Sting, Rod Stewart, etc. Guaranteed a good time. It starts the last week in April, Thursday - Sunday, then the second week schedule is Thursday - Sunday the first week in May. They open up daily around 10:30-11:00 a.m. and close with the last acts around 7:00 p.m. allowing you plenty of time to leave, at least an hour and a half before sunset. There is always great bands playing after Jazz Fest hours and more local talent at the bars and clubs. They have some of the best food in the world. Thanks.

Thank you for NOT doing Cissy Strut. I love this band and there is so little out there in terms or resources about learning how to play their songs, and their songs are SO good, SO many great jams. So, thanks again.

Adrian, I sure hope your funky feelin' doesn't fade anytime soon. The world needs more funk! The Meters were (are?) to New Orleans funk what Booker T. and the MGs were to Memphis soul. And how appropriate that this last Tuesday was Fat Tuesday, and New Orleans is currently boogeying away w/ Mardi Gras! Keep it coming, and for those of you new to the Meters, dig deep, there's a lot of Meters on TH-cam!

I've never listened to funk--I originally found you when I googled "Cinnamon Girl guitar lesson" years ago and found yours--but this is a great lesson to develop some new musical "muscles" which as you say are useful for any playing. Following your lessons has really broadened my musical appreciation. The leap from last week's Joy Division to this really keeps one on one's toes!

Yes I'm a subscriber and a supporter, welll worth it. This lesson is seemingly simple a challenge to master, to get it in the groove. Really the kind of stuff I love. Thanks Adrian. Love the new guitar. I have a Danelectro that is somewhat similar in vibe.

Love songs like this that mixes rhythm and lead parts together. Could you perhaps do falling and laughing by orange juice? Thats another song that does it well too.

If you're ever in a rockabilly mode again, would love to see Ubangi Stomp, great tune, second solo esp
Or if you want to teach us about the percussive aspects of the guitar, how about some Wilko Johnson-break that tele out again!!

    Another quality lesson Adrian.
As an aside, I know you love TV themes and soundtrack songs. With a new Bond movie on the horizon what do you think about a lesson on the Goldfinger theme? Cool 60s retro...

"A guitar I MUST own soon." Same boat brother, same boat. Don't forget to consider The Heritage version (H-535) of a 335. It's a sad little taper compared to the moustache but in every other respect...it's from Kalamazoo for God's sake!
