Uday Krishna Reddy, a former police constable from Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the 780th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023
.This accomplishment comes after six years of dedication and hard work, following a humiliating encounter with a senior officer in 2018 that prompted him to resign from his job and pursue his dream of becoming an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer
Reddy's journey to success was not an easy one, marked by adversity from his circle inspector, who disapproved of his civil service preparation during off-duty hours
Despite facing mockery and undesirable duties, Reddy remained determined to achieve his goal. After resigning from his position, he approached the Superintendent of Police (SP) to relieve him from his duties while he continued his UPSC CSE preparations
Reddy's background, marked by the loss of his parents at a young age and a humble educational and financial upbringing, made his journey even more challenging
However, his determination was fueled by the support of his mentor, Sarat Chandra from Sarat Chandra IAS Academy, and his family members
Reddy's success story has been an inspiration to many, demonstrating the transformative power of resilience, unwavering focus, and a positive attitude.He emphasized the importance of thorough syllabus coverage rather than focusing on the number of hours dedicated to each topic, dedicating eight to ten hours a day to his preparation.
Reddy's goal is to implement a centralized emergency rescue and rehabilitation mechanism for animals, modeled after the 108 emergency services for humans, at the government level to benefit countless animals
