Been looking forward to Elementary OS 6 for a long time. Installed it, wouldn't update, fiddled with it for hours trying to fix it. Said screw it and went back to fedora. The OS is half baked at best. Maybe in another 6 months when it's actually ready I'll try again.

Same. Though I used the opportunity to switch to Manjaro over ubuntu and its been very nice. Fedora is really close for me I've just never quite got it working right. DNF is a great package manager though.

@@warthunder1969 I like Manjaro but its just not stable enough for me. Took me a bit to get Fedora dialed in but once set up its blazing fast and rock solid.

@@dragonballjiujitsu The latest version 21.1.0 (Pahvo) is alot better than earlier versions. I agree previously Manjaro (and Arch for that matter) was not very stable. Fedora is such a close 2nd though and is very good as long as your hardware doesn't have issues out of the box... I have nightmares when I loaded it on my 2009 Macbook pro and getting not only those GPUs to be happy but also installing the brodcom wireless driver... I managed to find a guy with a auto-install script that made it possible, but it was also 4 hours later i found it.

@@warthunder1969 I've only tried Pahvo in a VM so far. I love what they have done with Gnome 40. I may test it on metal this week.

I can't believe a regular user has to do all of this to make Odin usable...It was supposed to be user friendly out of the box

Seems like a lot of work to fix what the distro should have working.

That is my 2 cents as well. Elementary is an interesting OS its just right now with OS 6 they are about half baked with features and ideas. I feel like it was 6 months early when it released.

I cannot get elementary OS to let me copy and paste. I have a file in the home directory. I tried to copy and paste it onto an SD Card. I can copy or cut the file, but when I right click on the destination (e.g., the sd card), the paste word is greyed out and won't let me paste.

My biggest problem with pantheon is I cannot have the dock on both monitors or auto-move it like Mac. Ideally i want two separate docks on each monitor.

I'm sure that no TLP by default is driven by the same reason it's not on Ubuntu by default either. It's capable of making some systems with buggy ACPI suspend when the kernel isn't capable of correctly resuming them, resulting in lost work or even a corrupt filesystem. So until there's a motherboard whitelist in the TLP project which prevents it running on unproven hardware without the user manually enabling it. I'm sure you can appreciate that the user experience isn't much different either way. Unless you're lucky / unlucky. If you're a distro maintainer you only need one hothead to threaten to sue over lost work before you say never again.

I was thinking to install Elementary OS but now I think it's not for me. I don't have that much knowledge to fix things which I use most like bluetooth, sleep mode, etc.
I think I should go with Zorin OS as it's simple and no need to do much things after installation.

Not a user friendly distro.. Requires a lot of work to get it up and runnung. Seems designed to put people off linux. Linux mint and Zorin os 16 are far better.
