Amir is the myth buster anybody that has a basic knowledge of electrical circuits never mind electronics would know this thing costing $236 would never do anything well done hope you get your money back and I hope similar items are never sold to the public again !
I would call these coils "antennas". That is the only way you could explain it as electrical device. So I guess it's purpose is to radiate HF noise in to the atmosphere so your $10000,- cables have some noise to stop.
I have always argued that the most important thing about audio is the engineering itself, not what kind of capacitor we put in the crossover and not what magic dust we scattered on the system. Well done Amir, thank you so much for the time you spend proving things.
I have a similar device from iFi. I bought it thinking (foolishly) it would help remove some barely audible noise in my system. It didn't. Rather than return it, it stays plugged into an empty spot on my surge protector as a reminder of the old adage a fool and his money are soon parted. It's not even a good conversation piece because it's plugged in out of sight. Every time I see one of these reviews I get a chuckle and think "yup, I fell for that one." Another great video, Amir.
A long thread on the Steve Hoffman forum about too many loving this device and they claim there are no reviews of this item, yet here you are debunking something again. Great work as usual.
Oh that's the thread that keeps on giving. Basically it's a God does or does not exist thread. Bunch of conned boomers refusing to admit they wasted their money...again.

I have seen a lot of people gushing about Furutech in the custom cable space, glad to see here that they're just another markup mob. Thanks for the video! Ill stick to my clone connectors that cost 4$ each :)
What an amazing channel! Speaking of Furutech, I remember Michael Fremer mentioning their demagnatizer for records. If this was possible to measure in any way I would love to see the result or hear your thoughts on the matter.
Yes, with help of a friend we tested that product. He bought two identical LPs. Ran the demag on one and captured the output before and after. "After" version clearly sounded different. It was more open, and generally nicer sounding. I analyzed the waveforms and backed that conclusion. I hypothesized that playing an LP twice in a row generates different results so had my friend play the other LP twice and capture each pass. The same difference was heard here! In other words, what people contributed to the demag was simply the run to run variations of playing an LP!
About 15 years ago, I bought a similar filtering device at my city's audio festival. It's also made in Japan by a little known company, Enokido Inc.. The device is called the AC Enacom and is designed to be pluged into the AC wall outlet or an AC power strip. It's supposed to remove high frequency ringing noise according to the included leaflet. It received favorable reviews from some clueless "professional" audio reviewers. I tried it but I never noticed any improvements in sound. If memory serves, I paid about $70 CAD. Amir's review empirically shows that these devices simply don't work unless you need a little snake oil to add some luster to your audio system.
I remember those. I chose not to buy them but instead got their "Speaker Enacom". And I heard a difference when they were connected to my speaker terminals. I sure hope if those ever got measured by Amir, it doesn't confirm my imagination got the better of my wallet.
I bet the manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank. Always lots of people that will swear it make all audio sound so much better and you are the fool if you can't hear it.
I think it is an ejector seat module for a mig 29 that stops the seat from working if the pilot goes through a drive through burger bar. on a week day. It could be a none working cigarette lighter for Thunderbird two.
The people on Steve Hoffman Forums are absolutely convinced that because you tested it with headphones instead of speakers, therefore your review of it is invalid.
I bought a furman power strip unit with the digital option(pst-8d) last year. It wasn't that costly at all, let's me plug in 8 devices. I am pretty happy. It's more useful and cost a lot less than that useless thing... But does it really power condition, that is for someone else to check...

@@AudioScienceReview Agree. But if I hear an improvement ( Not based on facts , But improvements in my mind ) - what's wrong with it ? It's still improvement.
I am so glad you are here to settle and dispel the real helpers from the snake oil that is so prevalent in today’s audio. Thank you for just being real and honest! Stay safe my mates!😊👍🏻😁🛠
I just watched this video. It is obvious Amir did not even plug the Furutech device into his outlet. Let's have some 3rd party verification! Amir is just showing two sets of identical measurements.
@Douglas Blake also normal people that feel the need to justify the money they spent. I saw a customer review that claims that pixel resolution of his TV also increased, especially in the dark....
Just the fact it you cant plug into it means it cant do anything. You cant plug "something" into one socket and expect a change in the socket next to it, maybe voltage loss but thats about it. Like saying I put a thermos of liquid nitrogen next to each end of my power cable and now I have a superconductor? Complete BS.
As has been already mentioned many times, serious audiophile gear is meant to be burned in for at least 300 hours before the sound opens up. This is not mainstream BestBuy level stuff you might be used to.
Without safety regulation on this device, no way I am leaving it on for 300 hours unattended! That aside, if you want to bet $300 that it will change in 300 hours, I can do that testing (it will push me past my return period and hence the money request). BTW, the company says "Suggested burn in time 24 hrs." That is not 300 hours, nor is it mandatory.
@@AudioScienceReview you can speed up the process if you hook up the headphones using pure silver cables. At the end of the day we are judging sounds and any test should include listening time.
This product exists because such a large number of audiophiles are both incredibly stupid and wealthy, so the market opportunity to capitalize on this fact cannot be ignored. I only wish I had thought of something like this.
Isn't it amazing the stupid stuff people will believe and spend money on? I argued with someone on utube who was pushing this thing and he would totally deny the scientific facts and keep saying he has to go with what he hears, totally disregaurding the science of expectation bias. Then the people who say they have blind tested these things and heard the difference? You ask them how if it makes ZERO difference in AC power how zero diff makes it thru the power supply to the DC power then with no change to the audio signal creates something that can't be measured but some how since we can't explain our brain and hearing they hear a difference? Is there no logic left in the world??? The unexplainable brain/hearing is PLACEBO EFFECT. How can people see the facts, say they understand placebo effect, and just deny that's what's happening???
Wow. So many “audiophiles” gashes over the brand Furutech and they have the audacity to release this BS item. I definitely won’t be buying their stuff. Plenty of other options.
These irrational perceptions about improvements are rife. In all honesty I could swear that my car runs better after it's been through the car wash. I wonder if anyone's tried prayer for better SQ before playing a recording.
Obviously you are not testing the quantum effects of this amazing device. The reduction in quantum noise creates a night and day difference in the sound that can be heard across the street by the neighbor’s wife. Naturally, as quantum mechanics shows us, you can defeat the amazing effect by how you observe it. Your measurements break down the probability wave and create a basic particle transfer of the electrons that eliminate all the benefits of the quantum filtering. Blind testing does exactly the same thing. We know from Schroedinger’s cat that the breaking of the uncertainty wave determines a no difference result. Even your skepticism in your sighted tests have the same effect on the probability wave. 🤣
if you dont believe in high end products making a difference and tell us on many occasions that good cheap dacs for example are sometimes better than very expensive dacs ,then why do you tell us very clearly that you have a 4 grand set of ear phones because they are best in what they do? surely there must be a cheap set of head phones that do the same? on one hand you tell us one thing ,then you go and purchase very expensive items yourself. you must believe that expensive appliances in general are better than cheap appliances and devices..
Just like any other high end name brand. Its all about marketing gimmick. My friend bought a replica from China and it's sounds the same as the authentic one. LoL
Is this UL listed? lol It is not legally required to be. Only permanent fixtures to premisses wiring need be as required by the NEC. Benchmark and McIntosh are not UL Listed or Certified. The only have what is required to sell in foreign markets, CE, TUV, EAC, etc. Some are not marked at all. "When it comes to matters of safety, I suggest not commenting if you don't have the knowledge. This stuff is serious." The device has a transfer function Voltage, hence current and power flow Fact
Hey Amir, as somebody with an electrical background I fully agree with your assessment and really get a laugh from products like this. Thanks for a great review. I truly don't understand. According to your reviews ( FULLY TRUSTED IN YOUR CONCLUSIONS ) why such an Audio companies all over the world making such useless products ? Latest disappointed (Based on your review ) is the AudioQuest gear ! Really don't understand.
The answer is embodied in the old phrase “a fool and his money are soon parted.” It is whitewashed scamming and pure greed. Nothing more.
Basically, if I sell people a stick to plug into the power strip and say fancy stuff about it, people will perceive an improvement. The human psychology almost guarantees it. As a result, any and all things can be sold for audio and there will be people praising it. Without testing like I do, there is no way to get to the reality of actual function of the device.
@@AudioScienceReview Agree. But if I hear an improvement ( Not based on facts , But improvements in my mind ) - what's wrong with it ? It's still improvement.
@Douglas Blake I agree and disagree at the same time . ( not to your answer - to the facts )
@Douglas Blake Fully Agree !
Thank you for uncovering the blunt lies and scams those companies are doing once more. Please keep them coming
I am so glad you are here to settle and dispel the real helpers from the snake oil that is so prevalent in today’s audio. Too often we see products claiming to rid of us of the gremlins we fight in our audio systems. So much of this is hype and marketing based bs and does nothing to help, but we still have you to rid us of the crap and tell us the truth about what is and what is not a benefit to our systems. Thank you for just being real and honest! Stay safe my mates!😊👍🏻😁🛠
Wow 😮 thanks amir.
The TH-cam channel for this has the comments turned off, surprise surprise.
I just watched this video. It is obvious Amir did not even plug the Furutech device into his outlet. Let's have some 3rd party verification! Amir is just showing two sets of identical measurements.
It's embarrassing as a Japanese, these mean the corruption of the Japanese audio world, and there are many mysterious objects like this in Japan.
This could be construed to be deceptive or false advertising, as it claims to perform a definitive function (mains filtering) yet does nothing.
Amazon reviews arel positive why? Does mean it work for others?
@Douglas Blake also normal people that feel the need to justify the money they spent. I saw a customer review that claims that pixel resolution of his TV also increased, especially in the dark....
I can hear a difference….or not.
The bad electrical juju is diverted into the coil and then can't find it's way out again.
I like that.
Amir said it's a 120V vibrating device lol
Just overhyped junk! Shame on you, Furutech!
That’s just silly, it’s literally nothing. I really hope you meant that to be a joke but it’s hard to tell.
It takes up to 300 hours for your mind to be convinced it is doing something. Crazy.
@@AudioScienceReview you can speed up the process if you hook up the headphones using pure silver cables. At the end of the day we are judging sounds and any test should include listening time.
What a wast for the environment and humanity. Excellent content as always. Many thanks for your time!
this is just dust cover for the socket
This product exists because such a large number of audiophiles are both incredibly stupid and wealthy, so the market opportunity to capitalize on this fact cannot be ignored. I only wish I had thought of something like this.
I have an old spatula with a wired spiral handle. I 'll put it next to my amplifier. Safer and does exactly the same 🤣🤣🤣
Isn't it amazing the stupid stuff people will believe and spend money on?
Coils hanging off the live and neutral; ridiculous.
You are lucky, Ifi brings more noise
Why shouldn't the Japanese have a shot at the audiophools... I mean uninformed audiophiles who are ready and willing to part with their money.
I’m sorry that your so wrong. It does a great job at taking your $230’s
Yeh, I was fresh out of quantum effect detectors. :)
Yeap another step toward science. A+ as always !
if you dont believe in high end products making a difference and tell us on many occasions that good cheap dacs for example are sometimes better than very expensive dacs ,then why do you tell us very clearly that you have a 4 grand set of ear phones because they are best in what they do? surely there must be a cheap set of head phones that do the same? on one hand you tell us one thing ,then you go and purchase very expensive items yourself. you must believe that expensive appliances in general are better than cheap appliances and devices..
Just like any other high end name brand. Its all about marketing gimmick. My friend bought a replica from China and it's sounds the same as the authentic one. LoL
Why doing a long analysis of a product that is full of false claim, no security mark and obviously is a crook company...?
It's a glorified extension cord.
Is this UL listed? lol
It is not legally required to be.
This stuff is serious."
The device has a transfer function
Voltage, hence current and power flow
Fact
We’re all a bunch of suckers except me.
Hey Amir, as somebody with an electrical background I fully agree with your assessment and really get a laugh from products like this. Though I'm interested in some current conversations on movement of energy through fields rather than the conductors and how much thinking has changed since I was taught. I find this discussion really good and thought you may enjoy this th-cam.com/video/oI_X2cMHNe0/w-d-xo.html I can't help but think this may be related to folks discussing litz wire and silver plated etc. Different topic really to this video and would make zero difference here but interesting none the less.
Less of these products more recordings.
DDAU. Doesn't Do Anything Useful. (phrase coined by Amir).
@Douglas Blake Ron Popeil, original TV marketer of gadgets, the Veg-o-Matic. Ron was quite the inventor.
Snake Oil.
250 clams for nothing
It is so disgusting that Furutech is conning people into buying this junk.
Wow, Furutech, this is soo embarrassing..
Yeah... you get what you pay for lol
The junk bandwagon
Not even a flashing light. What a piece of junk 🤣
I would not call this a proper analysis. I've never heard a decent system from a cable naysayer.
This is not a cable so don't know why you came up with that line. But sure, I could use laws of another universe to analyze it. I will do so when my spaceship arrives in that universe....
Simple - this is a scam.
What a joke this is.
A $4000 headphone? It must be some type of snake oil!
