Technically not a cliffhanger, but a season-2-preview. There's a character quietly not-so-featured in the final scene that is from the later books (and I don't mean the Exceed Rank 1), confirming that it's a flash-forward timewise about 2 major story arcs. (It's easiest to spot the bonus character in the wide shot of the torii gate, and count off all the characters you DO know.) There's about 1-2 years in-universe between the second-to-final scene, and all of them standing on that torii gate in the final scene, so it really isn't a cliffhanger.

The last scene where the priestess calls down the Old Deus is actually the beginning of Vol. 7 of the light novel actually... while the coin toss is the end of Vol. 3... they skipped volumes 4 and 5 there which is the content where the 3 characters in the background during the conversation are introduced... then vol. 6 is the movie which is a prequel in the form of a story being told to Izuna...
This man really managed to do what 10 years of waiting didn't do, make me read the no game no life light novel. It was amazing to discover your channel like this and I had a lot of fun, hope to see more amazing content!
Do the movie next, it's great and answers a couple of questions that all of us have asked at one point (other than Jibril's unhingedness, and how Imanity managed to survive in the first place) Solid 10/10 and I'm still sad that's no season two (hopefully yet)
Not only will we almost never gonna see S2 of the anime, even the LN is slow in coming out after V9, about one volume every 2 years. I think the author's health is not the greatest or something like that. So I'm honestly concerned about whether we'd ever see a conclusion to the series in any form.
Bro there are 12 volumes and the LN is in it‘s final phase. Even the author Kamiya himself wishes for a season 2 as he had posted on his X account on the 10 year anniversary of the anime adaptation. But it‘s still looking grim for us.
I think I heard from an interview that one of the biggest reason they don't make a season 2 is that season 1 was "too successful" As in they set the bar so high, it'd take tremendous effort to make another season of this quality or risk angering the fans by making something not as high quality.
Sora is the ultimate "The game was rigged from the start" he's said it since episode 1 with the rock paper scissors with Steph. He doesn't make stupid bets. He doesn't go beyond their means. He knows exactly how to win. And that's only by himself. With Shiro they both become unstoppable. The memory, piece moving, and calculation of Shiros genius and the long plans that ride convoluted line like it was fun.
how can we help the author get this anime a season 2? like this is the only anime that legit gets me thinking every episode and not let me get bored, ive been waiting since 2014 after it ended haha
Just pray for the author health or buy the novel legally Season 2 is hard to do because the expectation for the quality is way too sky high, The reality is 2010 - 2014 anime just hit different compare to most recent anime, quality wise. And we had seen alot of sequels kill the series completely just because how horrendous the animation is like what happen to Seven deadly sins Meanwhile few studio that has good quality already busy with other series, even madhouse don't want to do this. It's also not helping that this series is ecchi, meaning they can't sell it as freely as other anime which will result in lower profit (the same reason why DxD has long gap between season, they even end up changing studio and change their animation quality which make some people hate it) The only possible way is to make another movie, since movie already has high quality by default and can gather more profit (which is why the NGNL movie even exist to begin with, this is also the reason why some anime choose to make movie instead of regular season like Fate Heaven feel, Overlord, Demon slayer), but this also mean they need to cut every single corny stuff from the series
