@@tylerseboe yes. If latch brakes down with hood closed the driver in big trouble. However harsh but not entirely impossible to go from beneath the car on a ramp or lift. But still, lots of troubles to get it open.
*Important the handle has a clip on the backside that slides out in order for the handle to release from the housing. I tried just prying it off and it snapped. Now I must buy handle and cable.
Agapi Mantos yes. Correct. I am sorry you broke it. I think I mention it somewhere in the video, other people explain it too. I am sorry I could not cover the clip here, because my clip was broken way before I bought the car. So ... I shown everything I could and I keep driving with a broken handle. Thank you .
Ok, you repalced de hood released cable from the bonet inside the cabin but , how the heck you can replace the side of the hood !!! ??? That part is the hard side man ...
ownrenep0264 I hear you. I assume you talking about second half of the cable that goes to outer latch. There must be several screws underneath decorative plastic. I don’t want to speculate that you need to remove bumper (I never changed that side) but maybe more disassembling involved. Show me pictures what is broken, I’ll ask people. I have friends with similar cars.
@@mybestpartnerofficial9760 thak you to replay ... yes is that side down the hood, and I see , this job involve a lot once that part is in only 1 piece that run down the radiator , was so hard but taking the front emblem first and the grille out you can see 2 tork screws inside a hole ,this are the lower side of the loock ,and from upper side I pry up the black and hard plastic carefully just the zise to slide in a long tork screw driver and take other 2 screws, once the Lock is free to move out I replace the cable and figt back with all the screws and emblem and grille...
Great video, thanks for doing it. My 2005 V8 cable just snapped on 5,13,2019
wavelength1970 your welcome
9:56 I imagine the job becomes impossible if this plastic mechanism breaks. There would be now way to open the hood to get to the broken mechanism.

I’ve also got in by going thru the tire fender on driver side to grab the cable. Pain in ass but possible
@@TylerPowers-c5o yes. Interesting technique. Hope all worked well for you!

No problem. These two types of vehicles are almost the same in terms of many many parts. Let me know if I can be at any help for you. Good luck! 👍
