So frustrating to see no lane discipline. Everyone uses the middle and left lanes improperly and for no reason at all. Speeding on a straight highway with at least two lanes would be a lot safer if everyone would only use the left and/or middle lane/s for a few seconds to pass and then immediately go to the right. If we isolate accidents across the US and refer only to what happened on highways with at least two lanes, one third of those crashes that took place above the speed limit are most likely due to drivers being forced to swerve in and out of traffic because of someone chilling in the middle and left lanes and so they got in their blind spot right when they decided to switch lanes, speeding in a blind corner without being able to see stopped traffic, other drivers not knowing how to check their mirror and approximate how fast the car behind approaches them, hydroplaning due to improper road maintenance (potholes or uneven surfaces filled with water), uneven surfaces that will send the car flying thus causing an unpredictable understeer or oversteer character, other weather conditions (fog, snow, ice, etc.) and last but not least, no experience in driving a car at its limits and knowing how to react to oversteering, understeering, transfer of masses, pendulum effect and many others (just saying that someone has experience driving millions of miles in a city or on a highway by being able to stop at a light or turn on a signal to switch lanes is not enough, that does not require any skills or intelligence at all, it’s just useless overconfidence). You need to understand how a car handles at its limit and we all know the public roads are not the way to test those limits (race on tracks) but something is wrong and it constitutes a major factor for many accidents in the US. I am not necessarily talking about the legal factors that insurance or police records show, but rather about the moral issues that play a major role as well. I would want to see state and federal legislators pushing highway patrols and state troopers to enforce this lane discipline with zero tolerance, that is the only way to solve this hogging crisis in the US. And also, getting rid of wrong mentalities “if I drive the speed limit, why do I have to move over to the right?”, “why is he/she tailgating/honking/flashing me, he can pass me on the right”, “let me brake check him/her” or “let me slow him down to show him how it’s done”. Plus, an improper use of a highway with 3 or more lanes by hogging the middle lane/s would transform that road in a narrower highway resulting in holding up traffic and an increased risk of accidents as there will be drivers passing on the right or swerving in and out. And as a voluntary supplement, it would also help if more people enroll in practical defensive and racing/rally lessons to understand how to react when a car reaches or exceeds its limits so that they won’t panic next time. If this lane discipline works in Germany or anywhere in Europe, then it can also work in the US, it just needs to be applied.
I live in California, and have for many years. I am seriously beginning to get very concerned on the roads, and for my friends and loved ones on the road. Drivers today (especially in CA) are reckless inconsiderate morons.
I don't understand how the hell so many of these people have cars with NOT a trace of damage on them. How is that possible? No scrapes on the sides, no damage to the front or rear. Not even a trace of road rash on the wheels? How is that possible?
remind when I had a rental in sd and this guy that was on my left merging into my lane in his brand new volvo and somehow didnt see me or hear his blindspot detector end up denting the driver door and rear panel luckily the rental had dashcam showing i was on my lane whole time and the rental company was going take legal action against him since he didnt want me to cap the cop at the time or neither did he wanted to share his insurance info, got a text from him 3month later saying hes going press charge against me for hitting him. CA got have the worst driver next to michigan
It is and definitely, driving was a nightmare but we decided to stay in the car because there was a lot of people out on foot and covid was quite serious around this time.
Nice, I see you went through my area. I'm familiar with the Canyon strip malls by Day Street. Seen some ridiculously stuff near there including a 90+ drag race downhill via Box Springs Rd. Starting off the episode as of this post.
@@bdbayarea @Bay Area Drivers 1:40 The Mission Inn area, good bet for some wrong-way drivers but I missed them last time I was around there. 2:45 That's not far from where I saw a Charger go thru from the #1 lane of the dual-left-turn-only (Canyon Springs Pkwy East). They seemed to wanna' shop very badly. :? "Charger Fails Dual Turn...To Go Shopping". 6:40 Hey, that's the dual-turn mentioned above. Your clip had me get the lulz from their indecisiveness. 7:10 Would you believe it; you're not far from one of our old neighborhoods in Evergreen? I was so young back then. My father told me tales of the dive-bomb exits from the HOV lanes he saw too, and I was in K-12 at the time. 9:05 The Riverside freeway R-91 is like a magnet for aggressive driving, I'll tell you. We get some good captures there. 17:30 Some of the worst crashes I've seen have been in Irvine for some reason. Even seen one as it happened! I'm sadly not surprised that there was a crash at the Canyon-named shopping centers, seen the warning signs that it was bound to happen.
funny how most of the cars had blind spot monitor, yet STILL MISSED THE FACT YOU WERE STILL THERE . 🤣 it’s either they are just not even paying attention or just don’t care because no way people have all those safety systems equipped in their cars yet still messes up 😭 .
honestly you should include BAKERSFIELD CA. on your list! about 80 % of drivers stay commiting stupid driving moves running red lights running over bike drivers and lanes!stay stuck in one lane causing a huge traffic mess! ignoring road turn signs stop signs, school bus stop alert for students safety! PEDESTRIANS DO NOT stand a chance out here! meanwhile? BPD looks the other way. Honestly your missing a huge video content happening in this dreadful town, accidents are news worthy i can imagine.
I agree! Recently, I passed through Bakersfield quite a few times and the drivers there are reckless and clueless like you said. Definitely might have more content through there soon.
At 5:45 I am glad that these Kamikaze drivers are rare or non existent where I usually am.
This is so stressful but yet fun to watch :-)
I feel like California drivers have legit bad drives but drivers in New York just don't care about life in general.
For real
And then there is Vegas drivers that take it to the next level
I have been in Florida a couple times and those people apparently can't see things that are coming their way. I am just glad I don't live there.

I think most new drivers learned to drive on video games, like GRAND THEFT AUTO.
The red car horn sounds nice
How did those ones going the wrong way. What caused that, lack of signs, stupidity or just not English as their first language?
This is great seeing all the stuff from the bay!

I've done the scrapping against the shopping cart corral, and in a Target lot also!
torneranno i muli e le mulattiere 😂!
basta con questa modernità!

0:38 If that is Eucalyptus in Belmont or San Carlos (?) I've found it's best done on foot, I've tried driving it before but it was a complete disaster

how 8:30 a bad driver ?

I'm down here quite often so I've become familiar with the Riverside/MoVal area.

There should a place to publicly post the license plate numbers of these bad drivers along with their photos.
