I bought the hi fi in this video in October 2020. Absolutely brilliant , rich sound. Playing my 45s, albums, cassettes and CDs . Best money I ever spent! And play n old iPod and phone through it - sound is immaculate!
I mean you can still get hi-fi as good as this. In fact grand scheme this isn't even that good a system. When this came out it wasn't even the best on the mid range market.

@@wc6220 Hi fi or high fidelity equipment doesn't use ribbon cable, fact.. and it does have quite an impact on the sound. Good stereo, but not even close in hi-fi terms..

the turntable was made specifically for these (mid-sized) systems. To use it elsewhere you will need to get a 12volt .5amp DC power supply (like youd find with a cheap crosley record player) and just figure out the polarity and splice the two together.

There is no best , it all comes down to personal preference , as kenwood , Sony , Panasonic/Technics , JVC etc... all made very good and high end stereos , but Sony was more popular at the time so die hard fans would say Sony is the best , I love HiFi stereos and own a few brands and each of them have an amazing look and sound of their own .
@@afelcandy no doubt , kenwood made some of the most amazing designs at least up until early 90’s anything after that , components made in Malaysia , China etc. were total garbage with very few exceptions , but by late 90’s it didn’t matter who made it , they were all trash .

Mint condition, clear crystal sounds, super quality , SONY the best product . Lovely rack system with three way 🔊.
If you forward and rewind without pressing stop first on the cassette deck it will find next track automatically and start playing it .

That's for parties to keep the music going without interruption.
You'll tend to find that alot of these systems used ribbon cabling which doesn't count as a proper hifi. But Sony did some gorgeous Es separates
HI-FI refers to the sound reproduction not the hardware of the system. Have this model myself, excellent product.

Ribbon cable could be used in order to keep the circuits and also to manage the hole system with the remote , NOT THE SOUND

I bought one of these brand new in 1994 for 600 quid. Best system i ever had. Lasted 18 years. Anybody got a spare one???
