are you including dlss and fsr? good that you tested them in 4k too but, dlss and fsr is missing? and now the 7800xt got frame generation, and in the witcher 3 there was no ray tracing, you could try testing the metro exodus that has ray traicing too, good video just not perfect

Perfectly fine to pair the two. The psu is also sufficient, but my advice would be always get a gold rated psu if you have the means.

sir jegs, I am considering upgrading my 3600 to 5700x, i find the 5800x3d too much, so my plan is 5700x+aio, what brand do you recommend for AIO (na mas mura sa kraken haha) , yung madali install (yung standoffs) and goods temps na AIO.

the thermalright peerless assassin cooler would do the job perfectly. its rated for 200w and the i5 has a 65w tdp
stock cooler is enough for 65watt processor.. unless you want to release its full power via PL1, then you need a better cooler...
@@amz212 The i5 12400 only stays at 65w if the load is between 750Mhz-2.5Ghz all cores. If the load goes past 2.5 Ghz( like up to 4.4Ghz all cores during gaming) you will see it use up to 125-130 watts. If you have a 360mm AIO cooling the i5 12400 then you can keep your 4.4Ghz all core speed indefinitely without thermal throttling down to a lower speed. I have mine set to 4.4Ghz all core 24/7 and my peak temps only get up to 47 degrees Celcius(but that's because my cooler is a CoolerMaster PL360 Flux 360mm AIO water cooler with 260 watt total cooling capacity...

wow that's pretty awesome but the peerless assasin can handle up to 200w its keeps a i7-12700k cool in gaming workloads. I think it all depends on your room temps for example if your room temp is @ 27-28 c then yes an AIO is a must regardless became your temps will go to 80c for your cpu. Room temps under 24c an aio is not needed in most cases@@lightisgreaterthandarkness

The diffrence where I randomly paused the video over 5 tests was 63w.
If you were to game 10 hours a day, every day, you would use 0.63 KWH per day wich is 230 KWH a year.
Where I live, that would equal to ish 12 dollars a year. So in the end, it will take roughly 8.5 years to make it more expensive at current price.
Most wont even have their midrange GPU that long. People barely have 1080s today based on the steam hardware list.
Top 5 there is;
3060 6%
1650 4.11%
2060 4%
1060 3.81%
3070 3.74%
And the newer cards, 3060, 2060 and 3070 do have a higher increase % than any of the other GPUs. Wich simply means, that people are upgrading pretty significent after approx 5-7 years.
In other words, it will never be more expensive to have the 7800XT over the 4070 at current prices, based on the information I can find based in my country.
As a sidenote, do your reaserch before throwing out missinformation. Its never looking good on you as a person.

@oktofio9690 it happened to me alot when I had a rx 580 8gb card back in the day. But I also heard it happens with Nvidia too but VERY RARELY. So you got nothing to worry about if you own a Nvidia card.

if you're choosing between two platforms, might as well go for the am5. ryen 5 7500f/7600 is great. youalso have an uphrade path with the am5 until 2025.
12400f because you can upgrade to 13th or 14th gen. They are also better productivity CPU's if that helps your case for streaming and other stuff. You will be stuck with AM4 if you go 5600 and that doesn't sound too exciting IMO

There could be many reasons as of why.
However, I dont see why you take that as a negative as long as you get a stable framerate thats well above your monitor refresh rate.
The CPU and GPU at 40-50% just means it does not work as much cause it does not have too.
u need to buy fast RAM with low CL and normal CPU with huge L3 cache, like 32 mb at least

I haven't understood yet! Need more time, and now I am playing only compentetive games, like warzone (Urzikstan), fortnite, and battlefield 2042, however Amd has cool features then nvidia!!! By the way, warzone has cpu bottleneck, so AVG fps is arround 150-160, coz with same cpu and rtx 4060ti I had same perfomance (150-160 fps), with better cpu it should be way higher fps!

@@mohamedsamy4965 5600 and X version have no diff in gaming, 12400f win in 4 out of 10 games and diff is up to 5%.. so its strange to me that compared to this video 5600 has bigger gap than 5% at 1440p.. oh and am mostly looking at TLOU and RDR2 other games are much closer, but still 5%+ is not what I expected

All brand new, pwede ka mag 2nd hand sa GPU andaming sa market place na 6700xt na sobrang kinis for around 15k.
Looks like there’s a massive driver overhead in TLOU for the 7800XT.
Can HAGS possibly mitigate this? I heard AMD opted for software based scheduling with RDNA3, kind of like what NVIDIA is doing.

It's not driver overhead. It's 12400F limiting 7800 XT. If there was driver overhead it would have been visible in higher resolutions. But it disappears. If there was 4090 instead of 4070 you would have seen the same. 4070 is not limited much by 12400 F. 7800XT in many games by much.
@@yosar6107 the card is at 97 to 99% usage how is being limited that much compared to the 4070 wich is also at 97 to 99? as long as u dont play at 1080p the card will be fully utilized most times by the 12400.

At 1440p it's more than fine as it won't bottleneck it and the gpu will do most of the work.

Just wait till the 4070 super gets announced next month then make your decision.
Personally i would go with the 7800xt just because of the better raster performance and higher vram. But its also a good choice to get the 4070 if you value upscaling and frame generation while having lower power consumption. So it really depends on your needs. :)
7800 XT is just head and shoulders better card, no contest. It actually won every game benchmark (where it wasn't limited by quite shitty 12400F -> yeah people were recommending this CPU as some budget king some time ago and look what happened, 7600x is much better CPU than 12400F), has more VRAM and is cheaper. And some people advice you to buy 4070. Sorry but it's just fanboyism. Don't listen to them. For $50 buy better CPU or memory.

the only game i had more fps on amd card is far cry 6. rest was insignificant but power draw was 80w more for amd card. it was runing hot and loud. i had it for 1 week , sold it and bougt 4070 oc tuf. one power conector , temp under 56c and silent! never liked amd graphic cards and specialy amd software! but i must say i am in love with ryzen 7500F what a cpu😮

Nope… I use the exact same settings Like he does in 1080p but in 1440p. But I have 100 cpu in the end scene of that Benchmark. His seems to be much lower. And I got a better cpu than he does

@@0wned53 TBH I'm not sure why this is happening. It could be the game itself for being cpu demanding in areas.
Two conclusions.
7800 XT is head and shoulders better GPU (you should compare FG on beta AFMF ready Adrenaline drivers
AFMF still cant be monitored by 3rd party overlays. until such time, im not gonna test it.
using the 12400f is all part of the test, to display how limiting using it can actually be.
Another conclusion: all radeons are all peace of garbage unefficient gpus💀

No bottleneck between 12400f and 4070 (1440p). It's my configuration. Maybe in 1080p but not 1440p (2, 3% max). Bottleneck start with 4080 or 7900 AMD. CPU is important in low resolution. GPU in high resolution. But if you wants to buy CPU 300€, let's go.
It's crazy how efficient the nvidia cards are... all this by using 100 less watts than the 7800xt

As far as I saw, both card was limeted by the 12400f, I would say a 12600k would have been a better CPU for both of them or a Ryzen 5 7600x at least!

no if you look at it the CPU is in the range of 40%-50% for the vast majority of games, while the GPU is hitting 100%. The system is not CPU limited, but GPU limited
7800 XT is great but the power consume with very close performance from RTX seduces me.

Vram allocation, game engine will detect how many vram the gpu has and adjust according to it, some games can even run on 4gb of vram without crashing though all sort of problems will occur such as stuttering/lag, texture popping/slow loading textures
I’ve been using a asus 1060 6gb when I built my pc I was hoping to buy a 3080 well that never happened so now I just ordered the 7800xt and the 1060 will go in my daughter pc instead of her using the ryzen 5 4600g on board graphics.

8700k is 7600 cpu points, 6800is up to 16000 gpu points and 7800 xt is 22000 gpu scores, with 7600 cpu points you have bottleneck for all cards over 14 000 points, its not about core numbers, its about cpu performance. 12600k is needed for 7800 xt, 10600k for rx6800@@CrazO9111

I wanted to get a 7800XT, but the power usage is what steered me away from it since i have a 600W PSU, the 4070 is an amazing card. Paired with my 5800X3D, it’s an powerhouse 1440P gaming, and streaming PC. Best part, got my 4070 for 440 USD. Literally brand new too. Love my 4070.

Everytime I see anyone test the 7800xt they leave out RT and it's because it sucks. Who cares if you get a 10 fps lead over the 4070 in games like Hogwarts if when you enable RT you go from a 10 frame lead to trailing by 25 to 30 fps.
