The idea for Yoshi came from Shigeru Miyamoto because he wanted Mario to have a dinosaur companion since the first Super Mario Bros. game, but the NES wasn't capable of achieving that. Yoshi's inspiration came from the green dragon Tamagon in the game Devil World. Tamagon's also a green lizard that hatches eggs and eats enemies. During Super Mario Bros. 3's development, Miyamoto would draw pictures of Mario riding a horse, which is similar to how he rides Yoshi in Super Mario World. Mario series developer Takashi Tezuka believes that Miyamoto's interest in horse riding and country-western themes influenced Yoshi's creation. In addition, the idea of Mario riding a dinosaur came from the game Excitebike where players ride motorcycles. Since it wasn't possible to have Yoshi in Super Mario Bros. 3, Tezuka created the super leaf and frog suit power-ups instead.
Love Yoshi! What makes Super Mario Galaxy 2 better than the original is you have the ability to ride Yoshi. In fact Yoshi has his own galaxy where he debuts called Yoshi Star Galaxy. The final boss of the galaxy is King Lakitu. Difference between him and the other Lakitu is he's much bigger AND his cloud is dark to represent a mean storm cloud. You defeat him by eating the Spinies that he throws and then spitting them at him while avoiding the lightning from his cloud.
Do you prefer the old sounding Yoshi? The sorta 'bwee-bwoo' thing he always did, or the newer squeaky cute voice they gave him? I really can't wait for my chance to visit Nintendo World! Would love to see a focus on Bowser Jr. if they have enough. I know they have the Bowser Jr. experience 'ride' there, but I wonder how much merch and themed foods/snacks they have of him! I love Bowser Jr. Absolute adorable beast.
I like them both for different reasons! The original voice is classic and the newer cute voice is too adorable to not like. I don't think there's much for Bowser Jr. merch, at least not enough for a long enough video sadly. Bowser on the other hand, there's much more!
Just came back from Japan, Nintendo store Tokyo didn’t really have any Yoshi merchandise, so sad. But I started to collect plastic file folders since watching one of your videos. Now I’m trying to find the video where you showed how you store them 😂

The problem with all of these is they are only made for small people or kids, really. The sizes are simply way small in Japan, I feel. Just wondering: Did you ever try some of those shirts, hoodies, etc. on or is that not allowed aka there doesn't exist the option to try something on before you buy it? I like the green shirt at 7:30 with how shiny the material looks and it's fun that the motif is showing both his front and back.

Sadly, there's no Kirby merch at Super Nintendo World. You can find Kirby merch at the Nintendo Stores in Tokyo and Osaka along with other places like Kiddyland! I have a upcoming video on Kiddyland showing all the cute merch.

My wife has a disability and we are struggling to gather information about tickets for the disabled. The site often mentions to provide a 障がい者手帳 (shogaisha techo) disability handbook. But it is only for Japanese residents... how should a foreigner fulfill the requirements needed?

Currently it's Jujustu Kaisen. The best place to look is the official USJ website, as they keep it updated what's happening there.
