Two things Faruzan's Story: Faruzan is over 100yrs old due to a Time Displacement Puzzle Trap going off trapping her for over 100yrs until she eventually escaped, however being stuck in those ruins for 100yrs all alone, being kept alive by the puzzle's magic,(Some how she had enough supplies to last 100yrs I guess?) but the loneliness the fact she couldn't escape the puzzle trap, and all of the information shoved into her head by the trap when it activated, made her go so insane. However after some time had passed, she suffered until she had an Ephinay upon the realization her sanity returned, with a Clarity.. (Much like the doctor from Ben 10). After reaching a Level of Clarity she didn't have before her entrapment, she solved the Time Displacement Puzzle Trap finally escaping the ruins.. However her escape came at a dreadful cost..Faruzan upon returning to the Academyia found out 100years had passed.. Almost everyone she knew and cared for was "Gone" , she found she had been "Buried" at a burial site after she was never found, everything she had known was "Changed" and her accomplishments were pushed off to the side after her disappearance... As a s result she feels out of place... like a puzzle piece forced into the wrong puzzle. Her situation is actually very sad, but she tries to help the "youngsters" like she did so long ago, but given how much technology has changed she finds herself finding it difficult to adapt and blames it on her "old age" earning a bit of sympathy points from students and staff considering what she had to go through I think she's more than due that in everyone's opinion. She didn't let her troubling situation ruin her however she after being introduced to current Sages, was given the opportunity to teach again and try to make "New Connections" she does this currently but as she mentioned some "Bad Students" give her grief concerning what happened to her in the past (real mature right?) The girl went through a lot cut her some slack, Granny Faru, is a boo boo whom deserves a hug frankly. Traveler's Age: The Traveler is assumed to be OVER 5 centuries old (500yrs) from when they 1st arrived on Teyvat and that 500yrs total had passed upon their awakening. However It's stated that both twins are either both IMMORTAL or have the Life-spans of Stars living billions of trillions of years, this is further implied when your chosen twin (Lumine in your case Kage) runs into their lost twin in the abyss, as they state TIME is something both have plenty of. The fact that The chosen twin is shown to be in a rush to find their lost twin is due to the frantic confused state they themselves had awoken to as the "Abyss Twin" was a lot less panicked or even joyful about their reunion if at all. Geo Grandpa Zhong-li even states that the Traveler would still be around even long after he himself was gone due to the corrosion that all things on Teyvat eventually face stating he wanted to be remembered at least by someone in the end.The player's Traveler agreed to this because well Player's Traverler is s Giga-Chad like that.
@@jacobgym possibly it would also have needed to take care of "waste" issues within her body. But being "AWAKE" for 100yrs being unable to truly sleep would have driven most humans insane.
On the time subject, it's outright confirmed during the Archon quest where you run around body-jacking people with Nahida's help to gaslight the researcher lady into thinking the Desert King guy actually IS coming back. One of the things you can ask the fortune teller kid is how long your life is, and the kid thinks something went wrong when her answer is something like literally thousands upon thousands of years, with Paimon remarking it might be the most accurate prediction the kid has ever made.

I think that the same mechanism that kept faruzan trapped for 100 years also prevented her from suffering hunger and exhaustion
