I really appreciate how you review. I always get a good sense of why something worked (or didnt work) for you & why it might be something I am interested in. You're the best Hailey! Happy Pride! 🌈🎉
I really enjoy your content! Thank you. On another note (unrelated to the book reviews), I love your lip color! What product is it? Keep up the great work & congratulations on your recent wedding! ♥️🦋
I just read The Vegetarian! I felt similarly; I respected the commentary on misogyny and actually found it really interesting that we didn't get her perspective. Her rebellion was co-opted for everyone else's use. That said, I thought I for sure was missing a few pages at the end and couldn't rate it because I didn't really "get it".
As i was looking up your least favorite to read the overview i actually ran across a new one that comes out in September....its by James Patterson...i have always liked him...(When it comes to him i prefer physical books rather than audio) But yeah a new book by him called 'LIES HE TOLD ME'
I just finished she’s not sorry and I also gave it a 3.5 star. I’m a nurse and I’m honestly shocked at how accurate everything was in the book, I felt like I was at work when I was listening to it lol
i think LB does a great job with the rep from a clinical mental health pov! it’s almost textbook-y in its exactness hahaha, took me back to grad school a lil bit
@@breannawilliamson9787 I didn’t like the mom’s POV; it leaned so hard into the stereotype that being the parent of an Autistic kid is constantly exhausting, stressful, etc., and it really framed Autism as a disease, which is something I strongly disagree with. It also blatantly perpetuates the vaccine conspiracy. To me the whole book read like Picoult didn’t bother to look any further than Autism Speaks for her research on the topic.
Does the author of Gray After Dark mention in the acknowledgements that the book is based on an actual true story? Olympian biathlete Kari Swenson was kidnapped by a father and son while she was training in the mountains of Colorado. They held her for several days with the intent of "breeding" her with the son. She was rescued and went on to compete in internatinal competitions despite being shot and severely injured in the abduction. I hope the author gives credit to the actual true story that the book is cleary based on.
i will always advocate for men’s mental health, especially with toxic masculinity running rampant through our culture. this is so important in the queer community too! however, i’m not sure why you’re insinuating queerness is a deadly sin. i’m proud to be queer- that’s what pride month means to me. it means i don’t have to hide. no one should have to hide. whatever shaming you’re doing isn’t welcome here 👋🏼

oh wow!! good to know it’s accurate rep 💘
I’m Autistic, so I’m really intrigued by Under Her Care, but I’m equally afraid to be burned like I was with House Rules by Jodi Picoult
i think LB does a great job with the rep from a clinical mental health pov! it’s almost textbook-y in its exactness hahaha, took me back to grad school a lil bit
@@haileyhughes sick! I'm going to prioritize this one!
I actually loved House Rules. It's a spectrum. Everybody is different. What didn't you like?

Hi Hailey. What is your major in masters?
I agree about The New Couple in 5B , loved creepy vibes but could have been better.

i said “she has it made, so slay” lmfao ???
Gray after dark really is giving wrong turn😭😭😭😭😭
June is men's mental health month too. Isn't pride a deadly sin?
