I'm a massive OnePlus fan but yet again I'm disappointed because of the following reasons: 1. It's getting bigger and bigger. Focus on making a comfortable phone and not beating the competition. Samsung's S10e is a prime example when it comes to compactness. 2. Curved screens, no body asked for them. Why can't we have a clean flat screen? Can we just get a decent compact sized phone with good battery and flat screen with Oxygen OS? I get it, you dropped the headphone jack coz you wanna belong to the 'market' but atleast give us the basics.

I use gcam mods on the 7tpro and it gives great results. I do a lot of photography so camera is key for me. The sensor in the 8pro is a big step up from the 7tpro. Again, not necessarily looking to update but if the camera was significantly better it would tempt me none the less.
really disappointed that the OP8 pro has an overexposed low res front-facing camera and a red tone to all of its rear-facing cameras otherwise I would probably pre-order it, do you think they will fix these issues in future software updates?
Are they worth the very substantial premium price over, for instance, a Samsung A51 or Motorola G8? They all do the same job using Android. They all have good battery life, charge reasonably fast, have good screens and cameras that are way better than those available only three years ago.

I have the 7tpro McLaren Edition and love it so far. Not a fan of the hole punch or notch. The pop-up camera is really cool and having full uninterrupted screen looks even more cool. I'm not one to use the selfie camera all the time so I don't see it malfunctioning any time soon
the standard oneplus 8 seems better for one hand friendly but disappointed with feature cut, why companies making oversized phones with pro features when all could be had in 6-6.4inch devices. looks like budget friend prices also out of the window with one plus device.
If the 8 pro had a 6.2-6.4 inch screen, I would probably have bought it already. 6.8 inches is just really big! It would stick out of some of my pockets, pretty sure.

I'd get the smaller Oneplus 8 because its easier to hold but I'm not spending higher prices for a phone that'll be changed after 1 to 2 years, it's a waste of money. Many other great phones under £500 and spend the savings on a new XBOX.👍
Disappointed that they ditched the pop-up camera. There is quite literally only 1 phone on the market that features both a high refresh rate screen And a pop up camera, and that's oneplus' last years phone(s)

Which One Plus? All the 1+phones are somewhat water resistant BUT the 1+8Pro has an IP rating so definitely water resistant. IP rating means the company has to make it resistant in certain ways and do specific testing on them. They have to PAY BIG for this IP rating, so the previous One+ phones may be just as water resistant but they didn't pay for the IP rating. So if you have water damage they can say, "hey, we didn't get an IP rating on that phone, so don't dunk it!" whereas you may have some ground if the 1+8P gets wet and stops working since the IP rating says it should be good.

That's the thing. Every mid and top level phone today is excellent with the main distinguishing feature being the price and marketing, including the box they come in. The unboxing and packaging has become a very important feature which shows how important marketing is to achieve the sales at a price point, rather than excessive performance or any significant distinguishing feature. Perhaps I'm getting jaded with more of the same indistinguishable phones all the time. It's surely getting to be harder and harder to justify the premium prices of the top of the range phones when very mid-priced phones are so good.

90 hertz+, amoled, 6.4 plus, great fast processer, 48 mp camera noting fancy, at least 3 years of android updates. Under 600 ish dollars. What phone has all that?? Mainly just looking for 3 years of updates so it lasts, and a good display and media watching experience
Nice. Yet does this flagship have the ability to be connected to the internet via the USB-C connector dongle? Why should I spend 1k and rely on wifi to get to the internet? PCs have it and I want it and so I expect the good reviewers to go beyond hoopla and think about the consumers.

I keep music (in FLAC - I know as should be able to tell but.., audiobooks, podcasts, download Google Maps locally and also keep personal & work files/ebooks and a "repair kit" of utilities for friends and families computers). All the above mean I can spend less on my mobile Data contract by having them locally. 2. Photos and Video, I do not do that much but If you have a High Res photo and video camera why wouldn't you use it? 3. The restriction with no SD card slot(or more storage for a reasonable price) and the lack of a 3.5mm drops this phone from my shortlist. 4. I am just saying that for the money it is not a very attractive proposition. To add insult to injury they will charge for USB C to 3.5mm dongle and 4x the price of an SD CARD for extra storage.. 5. This is much longer response that I every wanted to write...

You are not alone Chris. No human eye can detect a difference between 90Hz and 120Hz. Only in slow mo you can see the difference but not with your brain and eyes. Btw the 3x zoom is definitely not optical as the guy in the reveal said it is "3x hybrid and 30x digital". Plus the focal length is only at 74mm equivalent.

A51 and G8 have headphone jack, sd card expansion, and are much cheaper.
