I forgot where i saw it but theres a written story about how the thing "feels" when it takes over a person. The story itself is a play by play of how the Thing argues with whom its taking over. Listening to the pleas and bargaining of its host as they slowly lose mind and body of who they are. The Thing apparently pitties our fragileness and thinks what its doing to us is an overall net positive.
This is so terrifyingly mesmerizing 😮. Thank you so much for the atmosphere ❤

We need a 'The Thing' game that plays out similar to the movie, but you get to play as any character, and the infected characters are random each playthrough as well as the artic facility.

I think Childs was The Thing at the end. MacReady told him specifically to guard the door and don’t let anyone in. Then suddenly he’s gone and the door is wide open AND the 2nd coat on the rack that’s exact same as Childs’ coat is gone. That means The Thing got him and tore up his coat, so he needed to swipe the 2nd coat so it wouldn’t look suspicious. Watch it again and look for the 2nd coat, one scene it’s there, the next scene it’s gone.

I'd agree but there's surely no correlation, John Carpenter commented himself saying he intentionally left it so you didn't know which one was the thing, so I don't think this was his intention.

i always thought childs having no breath at the end while mcready is clearly breathing (you can see it in the air) was proof mcready was the only human
