He says they aren't trying to put a message out there anymore. Yet meanwhile, MIW ALWAYS create a theme in their music but they don't even know it. I always see a message in their lyrics from the Reincarnate tracks. These guys are amazing, I hope they live forever til the end of their time with making music
I totally agree with the decisions they've made, like Chris said on his new Tumblr post, they don't go out of their way to become role models. They're a band, not a support group. I'll support Motionless all the way.
After seeing Chris's Tumblr post I HAD to track down this interview that's pissed off so many over-sensitive emo kids. Come on people, all bands change over time. It's not a bad thing, just think about how they go out there nearly 300 nights a year doing the same songs and giving the same speeches on stage to everybody. If your words don't feel sincere anymore, why say them? Can't you see that all your favourite scene bands are ripping you all off to buy their merch? It's such a cliche right now it's unbelievable. I guess the main point he's making is that MIW are so established now that you should be able to go to their shows and know that everyone there is just like you. Focus on having a good time and watching the boys put on a fucking incredible show. Nobody needs to prove or preach anything about being yourself, you're being yourself by buying that ticket to be there. If you were afraid to be yourself, you'd be afraid to go so far out of your way to listen to that weird screamo band that wears make-up. And for the record, they were fucking incredible in London when I saw them a couple of months ago. They didn't fuck about, they just played amazing songs, wore epic outfits, hired gorgeous burlesque fire dancers, and gave it 100%.
Love this band, the dudes are so chill but know where they want to/will be heading and that's what you need. Infamous is their best release yet, I still need to buy the deluxe edition though. I'm stoked on anything these guys do, one of my top bands.
The thing about what Chris is saying, they've been there and done the whole be yourself gimmick, and that message still stands for them, but the lyrics aren't going to be written to be about that. They just want to do what they want with their music now, which is exactly how it should be.
So...this is the interview that everyone is upset over. I don't think he ment it in a douche bag way, I think some people need to stop being sensitive. It's gonna be fine, keep listening to whatever songs that uplift your spirits.
He probably means that everyone knows the message now believe in yourself and all that.A band has to grown and thats what motionless are doing i ve been behind since their first ep and i ll stay behind them no matter what. Infamous ruled and so did creatures and so will anything they put out cause they RULE. Creativity at its best here guys you just have to open up to him. He still wants everyone to be themselves hes just gonna have some fun and put on a show which im quite happy to hear. All Hail MIW.
Why do some of you let music dictate how you should feel about yourself? I get that music is uplifting but at the end of day the only person who should be your moral support is yourself. It should never be anyone else.
I love these guys and I love this band. Infamous definitely took a few listens for it to really sink in, but it's a great album if you give it a chance. And "Sick from the Melt" is the best song on the deluxe edition, if that's any indication of the next album, I'm anticipating it highly. Keep it up MIW; I'll follow your music wherever it goes.
No matter how much they change and how different their music will sound i will still love them for being THEM SELVES. They are just amazing the Way they are
I love motionless in white and always will like yes they have changed just like black veil brides everyone is saying bvb sucks because they aren't as heavy as they use to be but they are still amazing. And yes miw has changed but are still amazing I personally feel like they are similar to Marilyn Manson but not necessarily with there lyrics but yes all bands change but if you are a true fan u will stick with them.
this was the interview everyone got their panties in a bunch about? I thought it would be ten times worse, but he was sincere and he didn't come off as an asshole. People need to stop being so damn sensitive.
Sick from the melt was possibly my favourite track on the last album, I'm super excited. It's going to be great to see what direction the music is going in and how the band will progress.
Finallly I've been checking my TH-cam everyday for this lol but i want to know what Chris meant by putting on a show and not the whole believing in yourself stuff because that evidently is what attracted me to the band was the fact that they where so ne yourself and fuck who ever thinks differently but i like this too i was in love with the industrial feel of infamous so when they were talking about the new potential material it made me happy just keep the work guys and thank you ctv for the interview :)
I'm glad they're doing as they please. Personally though that "be your self shit" is what made people put MIW in their skin. Atleast that counts for myself. Being the only tried and true metal head who gave no fucks of opinions and peoples thoughts toward me wasn't easy in a southern country state. When I heard " To all the kids whose letters I've received, the broken hearted, the damaged just like me, I will be your voice to let the world know we stand as one, we're standing right here, SO COME AND FUCKING GET US!" I knew this band was saying something many of the bands within metal, metalcore, deathcore etc scene weren't saying. I remember they ended their show with Immaculate Misconception and I couldn't help but feel at home. I hope they don't fully lose that. I'm all for them broadening and changing but like my true musical love "Pantera" did with only getting heavier, don't forget what you set out to do. Don't forget to grind that axe. I just don't wanna see them go to shit like Attila. Or die out like so many others because they lost their true vibe.
You can have a message and be entertaining at the same time....You've been doing it for years now. I dont know... hearing Chris say that just hurt me... I look up to these guys especially Chris because he manages to make music that not only is very entertaining but also has an amazing message behind it and to hear him say that that was all bullshit and he doesnt want to do it anymore makes it sound like he was just doing it to get the band popular.
to be honest i can understand what they are saying about no more messages in their music because it might be tiresome to them, who knows they might have a few of those songs in their next album
why do they not care about sending messages to there fans anymore? they just care about entertaining people cuz it wasnt like that when the band started, im confused and surprised. this isnt the motionless in white i grew up to
i like the sound of the album creatures a lot better than infamous... infamous is still an amazing album but it sounds really similar to marilyn manson. but what really bothers me is, i wish they wouldn't have basically said, "screw our message," because that was one of the reasons that attracted me to them in the first place. oh well. i'll still listen to them, but it seems like chris is changing for the worse :P
Chris doesn't make sense in this interview the whole approach to be yourself is what made the band. I like their approach to its only about the music and putting on a show but there individuality is what made them who they are and i hope they don't forget that motionless in white for life
5:14 I really hope Chris isn't...like....abandoning every message he's put out or some shit. I felt like Motionless in White was the only band that wrote lyrics that spoke to me. If he's forsaken that, I'm going to be extremely disappointed. Still, excited as fuck for new music
Guys being one of the people who loved the Being yourself theme of there music they cant just write the same songs over and over again. The speeches were cool and all but chris feels that so many bands are doing it these days as a gimmick to sell more cds as a false hope for kids. Look at a band like AFI davey is an incredible frontman his lyrics speak to many people but hes not up there preaching all the time. The lyrics of the songs should speak for themselves.
You know what you better be careful because she's doing this the whole guy is just inside the h***** de 20 music bvb withe monster Peggy monster brother ♈️ ♈️♐️♍️♍️♑️♑️♊️♊️♓️♓️⛎️
Some bands are fake but Chris motionless always tells us how it is. So down to earth and free of any bull shit. That is my idol right there.
He says they aren't trying to put a message out there anymore. Yet meanwhile, MIW ALWAYS create a theme in their music but they don't even know it. I always see a message in their lyrics from the Reincarnate tracks. These guys are amazing, I hope they live forever til the end of their time with making music

***** Only if you link me to it so I can follow you :)
its sad to see it change though
Something to keep me alive for sure, i'm so excited and happy for them and their new material!

I love this band and will support their music always. I have met them a few times and they are good people. I totally understand what Chris is saying.
So...this is the interview that everyone is upset over. I don't think he ment it in a douche bag way, I think some people need to stop being sensitive. It's gonna be fine, keep listening to whatever songs that uplift your spirits.
YES! freaking love this band! I wanted to see them tomorrow but I cant go!!

No matter what the band does in the near future especially if it comes to changes, I will always love and support them no matter what.
No matter how much they change and how different their music will sound i will still love them for being THEM SELVES. They are just amazing the Way they are

You can't compare motionless in white to black veil brides. two completley different bands. Also, black veil brides was NEVER heavy...
+The Ghost Girl yay a BVB and a MIW fan!!! In the MIW fandom, I'm usually ridiculed for liking BVB...
What these guys are doing is brilliant I love their music. Keep up the A+ work MIW
this was the interview everyone got their panties in a bunch about? I thought it would be ten times worse, but he was sincere and he didn't come off as an asshole. People need to stop being so damn sensitive.
Sick from the melt was possibly my favourite track on the last album, I'm super excited. It's going to be great to see what direction the music is going in and how the band will progress.
I honestly have gained more respect for the band all over. I love the band and had great respect for them but the respect just skyrocketed.
Omgosh I love them ♡
Finallly I've been checking my TH-cam everyday for this lol but i want to know what Chris meant by putting on a show and not the whole believing in yourself stuff because that evidently is what attracted me to the band was the fact that they where so ne yourself and fuck who ever thinks differently but i like this too i was in love with the industrial feel of infamous so when they were talking about the new potential material it made me happy just keep the work guys and thank you ctv for the interview :)
I like the direction that the band is taking. Awesome guys
Love this band

My big sister ♿️🇸🇻🇸🇻
Guessing this is what Chris's tumblr post was about :/ I support him still
why do they not care about sending messages to there fans anymore? they just care about entertaining people cuz it wasnt like that when the band started, im confused and surprised. this isnt the motionless in white i grew up to
How are they still on Fearless Records though? That's how they're going to fully evolve...
It's sounds like...giving up?
I dunno but hell I love MIW.
I miss Zenita interviewing them
i like the sound of the album creatures a lot better than infamous... infamous is still an amazing album but it sounds really similar to marilyn manson. but what really bothers me is, i wish they wouldn't have basically said, "screw our message," because that was one of the reasons that attracted me to them in the first place. oh well. i'll still listen to them, but it seems like chris is changing for the worse :P

I was going to go see them on tour but I had to bring my mum... And she HATES MIW so I never got to go...
I love Chris❤💗❤💗❤💗❤ I will do all the manifesting thing to get him. Lol. Omg I'm in so much love with him. Love you a lot my love. All the best.💗💗💗💗💗💗

+ed ya boy I've felt lyrics that describe me in the Infamous album. But in the Reincarnate album, holy shizzle gimme all those feels m' nizzle
Chris, how could you say that motionless is no longer about that kind of message?
Hi
Guys being one of the people who loved the Being yourself theme of there music they cant just write the same songs over and over again.
