A lot of trauma wounds need more than just bandaids, and that's what many do. The wounds are not healing properly because many will not allow God to get in the deepest part of the wound, which is where the healing starts. It is not the outside, but the inside that needs healing which then can be seen from the outside. God is Jehovah-Raphe, The Healer and The Great Physician.
I have PTSD from childhood trauma and that rolled into my marriage, which ended in divorce. I am in counseling. I'm starting to think my Christian life has been up and down because I didn't know what was wrong with me. I'm also like why?

I've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of TH-cam videos about it, I still find it hard to understand.
Spent the last two weeks on and off leaving the house and or being kicked out of it by my mom who drinks and had to freeze to death in my car. Recently in Janurary lost the love of my life, have been belittled and put down by my entire family and not one motha fucka even wished me a Merry Christmas. I dont know anymore man I dont even recognize myself from the level of anguish and suffering ive had to endure.
I feel you little bro. Sometimes it’s best to cut ties with those around you and find your own path. Some people are literally battling crazy. You can’t keep blaming others if you choose to stay in that circle. Seek God and the reasons that He placed you on this earth. We all have our own path in life and the only way to true fulfillment is to walk it. Life is extremely short and shorter are the seasons in which you are given YOUR opportunities. The Lord knows what you're going through more than you understand your own situation. These are words I must listen too as well. He'll deliver you, even if it must get worse to get better. Perhaps this is just a period to grow your trust and thus grow your relationship with him. I love you, God Bless you and God Loves you.
I think it depends on what the wound is. For example, let’s say someone is trying to heal heartbreak from a bad relationship. I think scratching the wound would be trying to keep talking to that person who hurt you, instead of removing them and letting them go. Also maybe drinking, drugs, unholy distractions to get over the pain faster could also be delaying real healing.
As a reaslist (all the time) and a believer (some of the time) I often wonder if religious faith or faith in general is simply "all in your head." I mean we do all these "mental gymnastics" to try and figure it all out. Leaving it to the Lord doesn't always pay off in the end. If Christianity worked, everyone would be doing it. I'm a realist and a skeptic. You can't bend reality to fix your mental health or finances. If you look around the world, it's obvious that a lot of prayers go unanswered. We aren't like the early church, apostles, Paul that all had direct contact with the Lord. Still not sure if I'm praying to Jesus or God or the Lord. We don't need more religion and Christianity only promises heaven (afterlife) or hell (oppisite extreme). Places that we aren't even sure exist in actuality. So faith in the Christian sense feels like Pascal's Wager or Jesus is simply "fire insurance." I have had lots of time to think about all of this and have hundred of hours studying history, the Bible, apologetics, you name it. So I'm talking from experience and a wealth of knowledge. Not trying to sound arrogant, just being honest. The Bible was all written by men. When Moses wrote the Torah there was already death and suffering in the world. Seeing as dreams and how to interpret them is featured a lot in the Bible, Moses probably had a dream or vision, wrote it all down and called it God's word. Remember, dreams in ancient societies, were thought to come from the God's. People were a lot more supersticious then as well. Look I believe God created the universe, but man created religion. I could ramble on but I think you get the point. I'm also pretty sure that most people that commit suicude prayed for a miracle that never arrived. That's another discussion.
