  • This is a bit of video of our restored 1947 Ottaway locomotive and it's train running at the C & H railroad in November. It was a beautiful day in the high 50s and the colors were lovely. Our locomotive had been highly modified before we purchased it but we liked the look and kept it. The cab, domes smokestack and pilot where all made to look like an 1800s American type locomotive. The locomotive runs on wood or coal, we were using coal this day (anthracite from Pennsylvania). The cars we are pulling are original Ottaway frames and trucks but the siding is wood bead board to make them fit in more with the locomotive. The locomotive and train are all named for elements from the Yellowstone survey to make it a national park. The locomotive is the William Henry Jackson - photographer on the survey, the cars are the Thomas Moran - painter, Ferdinand Hayden - Leader.
Thanks to the C & H for letting us bring our equipment and play that day.
