I never get tired of hearing y’all’s “How we met” story. I’ve heard it like 4 times and it never gets old. There’s a beautiful aspect of finding your person in real human experiences as opposed to the Disney fairytales we’re told to believe. Not saying they’re not possible, because they TRULY are but these are much better.

I remember Ryan at Stanford. She used to swing by to the graduate students to advertise her performances. We were friendly, but we weren’t close friends. But I could tell she was a special talent and a very good person. I remember us grad students really pulling for her success, like you would for a little sister or younger cousin. I don’t think I ever met Sterling K Brown, but I’m beaming watching the banter of love between these two. Congratulations to you both!

Now that was a relationship origin story. It’s funny how God works. No matter what ya’ll did you ended up back together. Ya’ll just had some growing to do first. The key point Sterling made is that he knew from the time he met her she was going to be his wife. I’ve heard this from so many men in healthy marriages. I think God planted that seed but he knew that there was some growing to do before they could finally get married. Such a beautiful journey. We need the movie asap.
