You can! If you're in the northern hemisphere they may not have long left before winter and I recommend starting from seed instead. Wait for the flowers to dry and then knock the seed out, they don't need any special treatment and will grow indoors or they will start growing in the spring.
Hello! I just had three stems of agastache foeniculum accidentally come off a plant as I was planting it and wondered about trying to root these pieces. Thanks for the video. You probably used rooting growth hormone? in sand?
I did use rooting hormone but this works without it. I just used regular leveling sand, play sand would also work. I covered it on the shady side of the house, keeping the moisture in, but not letting the sun touch it directly at all. Should work within 6 weeks!
Mine all have flowers can I just cut off the flower

Can you cut the stems if they have spent buds on them?
Yes you can! But if they are making seed, you may as well start them from seed. They grow fast!
It looks like you started wthi 10 cuttings. How many rooted and grew new plants?
All the ones at the end of the video! ☺️
@@8cupsCoffee I count 5 in pots -- so 50% success rate -- is that correct?
Yes it was about 50%. I did neglect them a little bit in the middle of summer and some of them died.
When - month- did you cut the plant parts?
Early in the season, I think late may, maybe early June.
What type of sand is that?
It is leveling sand leftover from a project we did. It's got a medium grain, not too fine or coarse.
