I think it is really great that you can pick up a H&S brush based on your needs and preferances, but you never sacrifice raw performance. Even the Ultra is so well made and can be equipped with all the over needles, nozzles and airheads. It really only comes down to what you are comfortable with, I love that
@@dredfxcustompaint Is there anything from Iwata brushes that you miss performance wise? Many people would still recommend the Eclipse over anything else and I couldnt tell how much personal preference is in there
@@alternate3787 iwata brushes are good I have three of the best ones when it comes to a detail airbrush I still love picking them up From time to time my next video is the creos ps270 going to give that another go with some artwork

Excellent video and review mate, thank you. I have two evolutions and just working on the trigger control at the moment, but they are both 2021 versions of the brushes so a bit out of date! Solids at ya mate, that was an excellent review and kickass piece of artwork.
great tutorial using heavy paper was great because i use paper for practicing and most beginners do...and the fact the you can achieve this without erasing tectniques is amazing. still very advanced for me 😢. i am starting to practice basic landscapes .. and then work my way to face potraits...

(I have some airbrush experience and didn't want to start back on the ultra) I bought it really for mini painting but honestly after watching so much of your content I think I want to try some portrait stuff. Just phenomenal work. Also when doing work like this with the paints you have, about what PSI you running no that EVO?
I jumped for the EVO and I've zero experience, I misunderstood some things about the Ultra, I thought it only had the settings I didn't realise that the trigger can also just be free, I'm a little terrified now I might struggle, but then again, sometimes jumping in the deep end is the best way to learn to doggy paddle. Its done now anyway lmao. Would love to know what PSI to set the evo at starting out too!
Not really such a thing as set PSI. It depends on your paint, how you prep it before shooting and what effect coverage nad opacity you want. You have to learn it/feel it out.
Yes. Got my evo squidmar today. Did a test sheet and I love it. Took it apart and it’s a quality brush. Great job. Q: you can’t use 2 at the same time with paint in if you are doing different colours? Will it dry and be bad for the brushes?

Thks for ur vid. wich one would u recommend for a beginner who wont quit (since i got thousand of euro in minies that need painting) but at the same time dont want to buy a new airbrush every year or two. better to stick with the ultra or higher one (evo or wait for infinity 2024) and put the effort in? thks
If your a total beginner the ultra is perfect I think for the price and you can upgrade the ultra later on with a different needle and nozzle set up When you get better
Out of curiosity - why have you exactly opted out of using a breathing mask? Inconvenience or anything else? SHOULD we even use it or do you leave that as a "you do you" kind of thing?
H&S claims that the .28 mm needle/nozzle is even finer than the .2 mm. Has that been your experience? Based on what you say here, your custom Infinity seems more controllable. As for the question of detail seen at a distance: When I was young, Audrey Flack was considered the ultimate in photorealistic airbrushing. Have you ever seen one of her works "in the paint"? Technically, she was pretty bad. Believe me, your level of craftsmanship is MUCH higher. But the flaws in her technique are apparent only when you stand close. When you stand seven feet away, the paintings have the desired photo-real effect.

@@dredfxcustompaint I have over 100 airbrushes. Made a living off of airbrushing. Close to 30 years. I have the original MOJO. You do know that it is a modified RichPen? I bought he 2 pack MOJO + when Mike released it. BTW never had a H&S airbrush. So I figured I get to try before my time runs out.
I have tried and tried to make friends with the Evo but it’s not to be for me. My personal opinion is style over substance just like German cars. Just an opinion and no offence meant.

Totally agree 👍 I did my first 6years on h&s brushes and it's great to back on them in 2024 with the new line up

My custom infinity is alot softer but the evo is faster if you want speed both brushes are great 👍
