My sister was a self-employed legal transcription tech. She paid $1,200 mo. for a PPO and was diagnosed with Ovarian/Cervical cancer. She was under care at UC Davis Medical Center. They had a drug that would have a 30-70 percent chance of prolonging her life. The insurance company and medical adjustors had a meeting and determined she was not a "viable candidate" to receive the treatment. Which means her life was not determined to be worth spending the money for the treatment. She died 4 months after her diagnosis. Come to find out from my aunt, a doctor in Italy, that if she were an Italian citizen, her treatment with that medicine would have been covered 💯 by the state. Her estate was also drained in probate for about 70% of its value upon her death for unpaid medical bills.

Vigilante violence is not unacceptable or indefensible or whatever you said it was. Society is a game we are playing and it encompasses everything from the way you act in public to the way you make your money to the laws we live by to the way you are dealt with if you break laws. Vigilante violence may not be acceptable according to the rules of that game but when this game is no longer working for the majority if people in the society, and the rules of the game ensure that it's only going to get harder for the people at the bottom and unimaginably better for those at the top then people are going to stop playing by the rules. It is insane that people don't understand the way you think the world ought to be is bullshit and a game with rules that will not hold when they stop working. We are animals. We need shelter, health, food and entertainment. And if we don't get it we're not going to play by the rules. Seems pretty straightforward.

I was a hospital RN for 38 years. In 1982 there was no utilization review, just billing. An outgoing CEO said the entrepreneurial capitalist had discovered a gold mine in healthcare and to lookout for an onslaught of greed. Today, there is a building full of utilization review nurses and support in every hospital system to satisfy insurance company whims in billing alone, forget about care of the patient. This occurs because the first thing insurance does is deny in one form or another. It's a vicious cycle of unnecessary expense with profit on top of it for all forms of health related stuff. It's a scam on the hospital side as well.

Put it in a way that CEO's can comprehend.....
"It's not personal, it's just business."
    Play sociopathic, predatory greed games,
    win sociopathic, predatory greed prizes.
Think of it as a severance package minus the golden parachute.
    Pretty straightforward.

Right or wrong...when you are the boss, all of the actions of your employees ultimately land in your lap. If you get to reap the praise and rewards of "job well done" then the weight of the negative and bad things are your burden to bare also. I feel compassion for the dead guys family. Things like this are only going to happen more often. As society see people in power abuse their power with no repercussions...there will be someone wronged that has had enough and will take on the responsibility of judge, jury and executioner. The worst thing about this to me is that if this person would have been held accountable by the powers that be instead of incentivised to continue with this terrible behavior they could still be alive and another family not suffering a deathly loss.

Corporate media cares less about the truth and more about the headlines and hysteria. Laura Ingraham lacks the most basic levels of humanity and compassion. Her own brother speaks out about her abhorrent and utterly ice cold heart.
The health insurance industry in this country is ridiculously amoral and kills thousands every year due to apathy and greed. That should be the headlines.
