Agreed! In my country (Canada), there is a legal, agreed upon closing date with the next place you're buying, so there wouldn't be an indefinite wait like Anna and Mark are looking at with their next place.

Getting removal men in was the best thing ever when i moved , they just crack on move everything quick and they even made up the bed frames so at least we had beds ready after a long day . It's amazing how much stuff anyone can have until you start packing it, so i really recommend a good declutter of things . Always have a small box of kettle - mugs and tea / sugar / coffee etc and snacks when you need a break from unpacking so it's close to hand .
How very exciting that you sold your flat! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Hopefully you won't move as many times as my husband and I have. He was in the U.S. Air Force for 25+ years. We moved just about every 2 years and moved 6 times since he retired from the AF in 2002. We've moved so many times that we won the bet with our movers about how many boxes we needed for each room! That's when you know you've moved too many times! Again, CONGRATULATIONS ! I'm sure you and Mark with make wonderful memories in your new home.

It’s so surprising to me that the sellers of your new place can take months to move out! Can you explain more of how that works? Is there no deadline and they can take as long as they want? 😱 Hope you get to move in sooner than later! 🤗
I should say you can request a deadline but it’s usually out of the sellers’ hands. Especially now with covid as most people won’t even let you view a property without being in a proceedable position (ie you’ve already sold).
Don’t worry Anna we’ll be emotional for you. You are the nicest people cleaning and having moved snacks. It’s the little things especially now that just matter most. Also a short series called Garden with Gran would be amazing.

I was so surprised when I moved to the UK and heard sellers would clean the house/flat themselves (or not clean at all). Where I’m from the seller has to hire a company to clean it professionally before the next people move in. I moved to a new house in the UK last year and the seller hadn’t cleaned at all and even left his old bath mats 🤢🤢 was legit relieved to hear you cleaned lol 😅
I once moved into a property and the previous owner had left his bed with filthy sheets and pillow that he looked like he had just got out of . He left A sofa that I wouldn’t even let my dog sit on . Had to hire a skip to get rid of all his junk.

I could never figure out the layout and now - I was sure that the office was opposite to bathroom ;) It never occured to me that you probably have empty apartment tour from when you were moving in 😄
Same, I thought it was a 2 level flat with kitchen and lounge on the bottom floor, bedroom and office above and bathroom on the mezzanine. It’s funny the wrong ideas you get about things you think you know like the back of your hand.

It's really interesting to see the difference in buying/selling property in England vs. Norway. Here there's a set time for bidding on the property you want, and when the time expires the highest bid gets the appartment. And bidding is binding, you can't just change your mind. We're moving in the spring, into a brand new appartment. It's being built right now, and it's quite different from how you'd traditionally buy an apartment in Oslo. Firstly it's a looong wait. We bought before christmas 2019, and we move in 2021. Currently working on sorting through all of our stuff, so we don't need to move with more than necessary. Can't wait to have our own balcony! Congrats on the sell! Looking forward to seeing vlogs from the sofa bed

The houses in my neighborhood (USA) have been selling like crazy since the Spring. Many of them hardly ever had “open house” viewing before they were sold. Interest rates are quite low, but it’s still apparently a sellers market.

It’s nice when you buy/sell to clean it. I’ve seen some people just leave loads of stuff behind and leave it messy and I think it tarnishes the experience.
We are towards the end of the process of buying our first house and it’s all gone so well until this point! The sellers are just putting off moving for ages but we have no idea why! We were initially supposed to move at the end of August and then were told the 21st of September and we found out yesterday that it’s been pushed back even further yuck.I wish we had people like you guys who were happy to move out somewhere temporary so the buyers (us) could actually buy the house lol
