    Don't forget to gap your plugs before installation and NEVER run Autolite plugs in anything especially in a GM product. The plugs should have been R&R with AC Delco. Other than that great advice and happy to see others using diode electric grease and anti-seize.

    Good presentation. Note, that you find want to put antiseize on the threads. They are plated from factory and putting that on there will throw off the torque, running the risk of overtightening or not putting them in tight enough. Otherwise, again, good presentation. Thanks!

    I am still wondering is it possible to change from an Aluminum Intake Manifold which was made for 2009 to 2011 and swap it to a 2012-to-2022-year Plastic Intake Manifold. Plastic Intake Manifold have so much more room to work around spark plugs on this type of engine alone. Stupid Aluminum Intake Manifold engineering in the First Gen years. I have the same engine cover which helps.
    To add: I saw the difference is that Mid 2012 have MAP Sensor on top of the plastic intake and the 2009 to 2011 does not have MAP sensor on top of the Aluminum Intake Manifold, I am stuck with what I have and will make of what I have work for me.

    I had a mechanic tell me that i did not have to remove the intake and that its just a tight fit for the back 3 coil packs but that it can be done. Does that sound right? Also, you mentioned checking the spark plug gap to 43 thousandths but didnt see you check that. What do you need to do that?

    • @MagnusPrimeE1
      @MagnusPrimeE1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I had already gapped them. It can be done with it on, but it’s really a pain in the ass to do, I can’t do it that way because I have 22 inch arms lol. Short cuts just aren’t worth it especially with a job like this, It’s just easier to remove the intake. I’ve done so many now, it only takes me about 40 mins, start to finish.

    I have watched so many videos on 2011 Chevy Traverse Spark Plug change since I bought my vehicle in 2020. Once you pop up the engine cover and I notice you are working on a 2012 Year model or later. In 2009 to 2011 the intake manifold which is made of Aluminum has to be removed from the engine because it does cover the front three spark plug ignition coil. From 2012 to 2022 the intake manifold DOES NOT cover any ignition coil at all. So, removing the intake manifold from the engine of 2012 and later is very unnecessary, unless people own 2009 to 2011, we have no choice at all. I have no choice to remove mine, got to suck it up and replace my spark plug driving from 151,000 which I bought mine from to 173,000 who knows? The Power Steering fluid also use transmission fluid, save a lot of money there too.
