- Tears for Fears (Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith) co-host "Good Rockin' Tonite" with Terry David Mulligan for the Sept. 6 1985 CBC-TV show. Music videos have been deleted. The English New Wave/rock band was formed in 1981 by Orzabal and Smith. They met as teenagers in Bath in Somerset and became session musicians for the group Neon, then joined the band Graduate, and finally formed a band called History of Headaches which changed to Tears for Fears. The band's name came from Primal Therapy, developed by American psychologist Arthur Janov. who they eventually met in the mid '80s. Their first LP "The Hurting" in 1983 went #1 in the UK and their 2nd LP "Songs from the Big Chair" went #1 in North America in 1985. From that LP came their #1single "Shout" followed by "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." The show ends with host Mulligan announcing his departure from CBC for Much Music. I never tire of listening to Roland do interviews. I’m just bit concerned about my recent obsession with listening to him talk.
It's called, "Idolizing," or "Obsessing" and it's designed to take your Savior's spot within you. Entrapment by entertainment.
If you study his interviews, lyrics, etc, you'll notice patterns associated to conjurors, the eye of providence, aka the minds eye sometimes, otherwise known as the all seeing eye, Biblical symbology in a fleshly way, and not a spiritual way.
If you study entertainers enough, you'll find some claim spirits singing or acting through them. It's other worldly to them.
Just as Curt wanted to leave TFF for an independence, he returns. Why? The experience of course.
Learn to pray, no matter what your attitude is because your Creator is real and what's you to know Him.

I had to play it back 3 times when he said, ""I saved his soul from INTERNAL damnation, lol" I appreciate how intense he is (musicality and personality) and how spontaneously witty and clever he is in interviews. Wish I could have met him in 1980 or '86 in So. Cal. (I worked in Hollywood.) When I hear their songs, it feels like just 5 years ago, not 40 years ago! 💜
I really enjoy listening to Roland, he was very very aware at such a young age.

Also, writing songs pleading for and championing female emancipation - long before inequality or toxic masculinity were even acknowledged by most men. And then insisting song became the album's opening* anthem - by a pop group previously known for quite different music, and against their label's wishes.
*Back in the days of yore, when choosing which track your album opened with was really _massively_ important!

Me too. Curt used to be so happy and full of life. Nowadays, he seems bitter, withdrawn. Roland still jokes around on stage. I've never seen Curt in the last 15 years interact and joke around with the audience. That's what Hollywood does to you!!!

I was young and growing up then and then TEARS for fears came out there album that hit me like a ton of bricks. Me my friends and as far as I know couldn't stop playing to see them together agian. Luckily, Roland didn't get in trouble for it at all and neither did Curt.

Num desses vídeos, alguém comenta que a ex esposa do Curt o deixou. Se isso é verdade, não sei onde ela estava com a cabeça para deixar um homem desse! Acho que foi no vídeo em que o TFF ganha o prêmio de melhor música com a música "Plantando Sementes do Amor" onde Curt vai receber o prêmio sem o Roland, pq, segundo os comentários, eles estavam brigados na época.

Talvez foi ele que a deixou, não se sabe o motivo. Mas eu pelo que ouvi nas entrevistas dos dois cantores, Roland disse que não brigou com Curt, e que Curt se incomodou com o gerente, o chefe deles, sei lá. E que Roland ficava trancado no estúdio produzindo enquanto Curt ia ter contato fora com as pessoas, mídia, etc. Pode ser normal dois amigos terem uma discussão mas não ficar de mal, e numa dessas Roland disse que queria ficar sozinho para se conhecer melhor. Mas depois se uniram de novo e pra valer! Claro, dois gatos lindos não podiam ficar brigados!

Roland's oldest son is already in university and his youngest is in lower 6th form college which I guess is equivalant to being in grade 11 here. Curt's oldest is already a teenager and his youngest is almost 11. :)
