  • This video breaks down the Swimbait Rigging for the 6/0 PR378 GB Predator Swimbait Hook and shows a detailed Step by Step tying instruction for dressing a Bob Popovics' BULKhead Fleye.
    My intentions were not to create a 55 Minute video for this fly....but I ended up being extremely thorough for the Bucktail Techniques used as well as hair selection and tying technique. Hopefully this serves as a mini Bucktail Master Class in addition to the intended Swimbait Bulkhead tutorial.
    You can find the materials needed to tie this fly on my Website: www.streamersb...

    I like your videos, especially at the end when you show how it moves. I wish I had one of your pike fly. I can make flies too, but yours are at another level. Thanks for the video.

    Another great fly Gunnar. I'm not tying right now because I'm living out of a suitcase getting ready to move into a motor home and go fishing until I can't fish anymore. This be one of the first flies I tie when I can. You're the first tier I heard of besides Larry Dahlberg that weighs hooks. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.

    What you talked about at about the 40 minute mark about not re-collapsing the hair with your cone is the secret I've been missing! I've been tying the cone with way too much pressure.
    Also word to the wise- with mono thread you can tie with enough pressure to shatter a glass rattle. Ask me how I know 😉

    Great ! Disclaimer for this comment, I know small presentations can also be super effective for Musky BUT nobody has tied the monster/mega/jumbo 24"+ Beast fly yet....maybe it will be you? I tied up the modified beast (using tubes+ lead beads) and it is quite the swimmer! Keep the vids rollin'

    Very nice fly, beautifull work! But in my opinion, it lacks a tail hook especially (for winter fishing...) You know, when the pikes are only tasting your fly..90 percent of the pikes for my part do not prick themselves on the main hook but on the stringer...For sure it's just my opinion!

    A weedless swimbait fly that one could fish around laydowns for bass, pike and muskie. I really like it. I am trying to think of how to do a crayfish, frog, and lizard fly with that hook and rig as well.

    Love your stuff Gunnar! Wish we had Pike and Musky here (although pretty sure these would slay stripers!)...and wish I could make bucktail work look as easy as you make it look. Let me know if you are ever swinging thru Virginia...love to pay you for a tutoring session!!! :)

    Awesome video Gunnar, very detailed. What weight fly rod is required for this fly?

  • @greenwoodsbushhogging6704
    @greenwoodsbushhogging6704 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seeing that you geek out on the details as well. Do you think there would be any difference replacing the mono straights with a 80# steel braided leader material? I know it wouldn't weld itself, but I want to tie a version up before I can get to the store for heavy mono.

  • @chrisroberts3963
    @chrisroberts3963 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you tie this version on the 4/0? I got a bunch of 2/0 and 4/0’s but no 6/0’s.
    Also what rod can you cast this on?
