Who else jump from joy when Royal Desendant showed up and said Hao Lan was his beloved and ask to marry her. I started shipping these two and I am not afraid to admitted. I do feel for Hao Lan, people deciding her life for her. But it was the only way to save her.
This entire exchange was faster than a game of chess, the level of wits demonstrated by all, including the guard😮😮! Pincess, you're the weakest link, bye😏😉
Apparently this series wasn’t high in ratings, hence the abrupt ending. It was blamed on the main actress’s acting or lack of, but there were no such complaints in her earlier drama, Story of Yanxi palace. Then there were unhappy fans who didn’t want the 2 leads, Jin Yan and Nie Yuan to act together again, as they were the leads in Yangxi palace. Some complained that she was too young for him. They’re just acting, not marrying and even so, it’s none of anyone’s business.
@@meimei1919 Agreed. Its crazy that studios/agencies are so focused on creating cash cows and continue to ignore the mental health of their actors/actresses. I get that in comparison to Hollywood/Bollywood, most asian film industries are relatively young but they really need to abolish the current model of signing actors to contracts with agencies. Having these agencies is problematic. It disenfranchises the actors and limits their creativity to undertake the projects they really want to do in order to grow as artists.
The biggest reason the drama’s rating were so law was because it came out way too close to Yanxi Palace’s release. It doesn’t help that it’s basically the same cast. The director decided to go with a different theme than Yanxi Palace and fans were constantly criticizing and comparing this drama to it. The ending wasn’t abrupt at all, if you know the real historical story of ZhaoJi (Haolan) they tried to keep the ending similar without jeopardizing the character. Historically ZhaoJi was seen as a “easy” and would take on lovers. When her son was in power he killed her lover, killed her two sons that she conceived with her lover, and imprisoned her in her palace. She died soon after either murdered or killing herself. This drama tried to keep it within that line and played it out to her last moments.
I'm one of the few that enjoyed this much better than Yanxi. Yanxi was good, but I think I preferred this one due to the historical figures regardless if it was accurate or not.
Agreed! If she didn't frame Haolan for having a relationship with the guard, Yiren and Haolan wouldn't gotten married. She did it to herself. Evil woman like her deserves it!
The series itself was great for the most part, the ending was rough. It was too rushed and didn't make sense because the production had a lot of issues. I enjoyed this series and the acting, which led me to watch The Story of Yanxi Palace, which I enjoyed even more ( has a lot of the same actors from this series)
Kitty Bell you wil like empress ki- it is Korean but very dramatic - it has five stars - you will also like ruyi too - and empresses at the palace - something that

I was LMAO when Yi Ran showed up and wiped the smirk off Princess Ya’er face. Talk about karma!
I still like him better. Even though he turned out to be the typical male in these dramas... Still one of my favorites though.
the prince was a better match for her anyway. Le Buwei was not ment to be with her, the prince treated her so kindly

I love watching Ya get hers. The fact that Yi Ran was ready to face execution over a marriage to her should have been a wake up call to her.

I swear netizens are weird asf. They want actresses/actors to succeed but on their terms
Lady Fights Octopus but the scary thing is they can make or break an actor’s fame or the drama’s success.

Still, the person who came up with the title never fails to amaze me 😂😂
Me too
And thus begins their dysfunctional relationship
Poor Haolan, get out of the dysfunctional relationship with Buwei, to step in another one :))
Taylor Slade 👍🏻😁
Poor Hao Lan is right. Finally someone who agrees with my take that her relationship with Lu Bu Wei is dysfunctional.
Well he didn't want the devil princess. He preferred Haolan
I love this scene so much.
The princess did this to herself

Yep, she did and I loved seeing her get her face cracked! I LMAO!
And then when he returns to Qin Country..He does remarry she gets mad. 😒
Were the six rites incomplete?

I agree with Kitty Bell. The series itself was really good, only the ending was a bit of a letdown unfortunately.
