Hi mate, we were experiencing exactly the same issues with our Mavic. After watching your video we ordered a new ribbon cable (cost about a tenner on Amazon) and fitted it step by step how you perfectly demonstrated in this video. If you're not that tech smart with repairs, like us, just so you know fitting the new ribbon cable is a right pain in the arse! But after a frustrating amount of time playing around with it, getting it into the right place and screwing everything back together... OUR MAVIC WORKS! The gimbal is now behaving itself and there I was thinking I would need to take it to the DJI Store! You've saved us a huge amount of money and time, bravo my friend. Two years down the line and you're still helping people out, thank you!
Hi, may I ask you how long have you had your Mavic before the cable got damaged? Doesn't Dji repair it for free under warranty? I'm thinking about getting a mavic pro but this common problem really scares me..
I followed your instructions to a T and YOU, my dear British chap, have saved our Mavic. It flies like a dream now, all thanks to your wonderful video tutorial here. Thank you SO MUCH! Love, -Beau
Great Video! My Mavic Pro fell in water and was getting the gimbal motor overload error and was hesitant to try this repair but had nothing to lose. It worked and saved me a lot of money! Thanks again for the video!
This is an excellent video that helped me repair my Mavic back to flight status! THANK YOU! Of note to anybody doing this : take time to document the routing of the cable. It is especially important to note that the cable is folded 180 degrees in two places. That may not be apparent if you just pull it out quickly.
The new ribbon cable has white lines on it where you "fold" it prior to install. Look at the one you are removing and make the same bends in your new cable. The connectors will fall in to place. Do yourself a favor and take a few pics with your cell phone prior to disassembly. you can then reference them later if needed. I do that with all repairs I have.
Fantastic video. Saved me up to £200 to send my Mavic Pro away to get fix. Geez it's a fiddley job. Very do-able though. Absolutely need to have the right small tools for this. Doesn't need to be an expensive tool kit (must a a tiny torx/start-shaped and Philips head). Also, I found a guitar plectrum really helpful for picking out the string cable from the tiny connectors. Removing the top case from the Mavic was the first hurdle as the clips that hold down the front of the case do not click off easily. That took quite a lot of prying apart!! (thought I was going to snap the plastic casing at one point) Also, I definitely recommend to take pictures of the all the steps as you dismantle the camera. Refitting/threading the new ribbon cable is quite confusing. There are various twists and bend in the cable you need work out. Lastly, if you have sausage fingers, you might want to ask help from someone else.
Thanks for this! I struggled for 2 hours, had my doubts.....Turned it on and BAM it worked. I had hit a tree and can not believe that it damaged this cable. I am back up and running.
thank you SO SO MUCH YOU SAVED ME SO MUCH MONEY where i only spent 12 bucks for the cable vs someone fixing it which would of cost me 200 bucks thank you so much man i appreciate your hard work and patience towards making this video and guiding us through the process!
Can I send u A photo plz as I’m stuck somewhere and would love your thoughts ? (Stuck at 3:50) as you do not show how to clip off the extra two clips before pushing out the gimbal
Great video mate got me out of a right fix here in Corfu, lucky I always carry spares with me. I would like to add that I had flow it for a day in various locations on the island then last one of the day it was in the air and noticed the video jumping from side to side. Its never been crashed etc and although I fixed it, took me 3 hours even as an ex auto tech but the cable is a poor design. My Mavic Pro is only 16 months old this is 2020. Thanks again Pete from Corfu Tourist 8-))))))
Hi, mine has just thrown up this gimbal overload message and the cameras not working as it should, i usually carry it about on my motorcycle in the rear top box which wobbles about quite a lot, although i do have the camera safety clamp on it all the time. i'm wondering if i have this problem, is there a way to tell, or is it a case of having to change the cable and see ?? i live in poole, dorset, south uk
Nice update Hugh. I apologize for being so crass before. I'm still waiting on the forward sensor assembly from China of course. However your update clearly points out those critical forward sensor tabs. I think I might make a video that shows precisely how to put the cable "on". Out of the 3 or 4 videos on youtube showing how to replace the ribbon cable not a single one shows "clearly" and precisely how to put that confusing serpentine bugger on. The part where it folds back on itself is still a mystery even to me .....
Well OEM it is $160 US. I was able to find it on Ebay from China for $60 US, but it is obviously aftermarket. I suppose I will have to hang on to the broken fwd sensor assembly in case I ever have to send it in under "DJI Care refresh" I could just pop the aftermarket assembly out and put the OEM back in. It would have to be a major repair for me to send it in for refresh so I'm sure a broken ribbon cable on the forward sensor wouldn't matter at that point.
No not yet. I don't want to take the Mavic apart again until I have the Forward sensor assembly. And of course the Chinese merchant didn't ship the item and when I contacted them after waiting 2 weeks they realized their mistake. So went LIVID on them so they shipped it DHL 2 day, so I should be receiving it tomorrow. I don't know if I will have time now to shoot the video before a trip to the islands, but I will try ....
Well the best thing to do is to take a lot of pictures as you are removing the old one, which it sounds like you didn't do. I can't really explain how to do it over text. I can however recommend a video that is of some help. Do a search on youtube for "fixacrash mavic gimbal disassembly" go to 9:40 sec mark is where she shows how to take the cable off and then right before completely removing the cable she does a little "review" bit showing the route of the cable that may help, However the tricky part that nobody shows is how at one point the cable actually doubles back on itself as it goes thru the frame of the arm. If you don't get that part then there is extra ribbon cable that gets in the way of the gimbals action. The part of the cable that is doubled over can be seen right around 10:12 sec mark. Hope this helps some ....
Helpful vid and links to the ribbon cable sellers. Thanks! I'm going to replace my cable; after a crash, my gimbal now jumps all over the place, apparently between three different positions -the image is also sometimes grainy and reddish.
Hi, how are you? Great video! Im right now seeing reviews about ribbon cable cause there are a lot of manufactures that sell it. Do you know if its that same the ribbon cable of mavic pro platinum? my drone is not platinum...I need to ship to argentina and is better to buy it on USA. Other way i will buy the link you send. thank you
Hi I do not know if it is the same, unfortunately the platinum has only just come out but from what I have seen I assume it is the same as there doesn't seem to be any changes to the camera.
Referring to Arif Dewa....post. what do you mean by cleaned ribbon wiper with thinner? I too replaced torn ribbon cable and same failure. Bought new gimbal assembly not arrived yet but redid ribbon twice no luck. Do you mean coating layer maybe on connector pins?? Would love to try if it worked but unless I got a faulty ribbon from FSlabs I don't know what else to do except suck it up and buy a new one!!!!?
Thnx for the video. I have landed to a tree and then cannot make gimbal calibration. But i have the video feed. Now i changed the ribbon like you did and now i dont have a video feed and there is no gimbal movement. Then i also changed the video feed cable (silver cable) but no success. Still no video and gimbal not moving. It was ok before replacing ribbon and silver cable. What should i check? What can be the problem?
Its a laptop tool kit: www.amazon.co.uk/Screwdriver-Kaisi-Precision-Electronic-Appliances/dp/B01IT28YU8/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1497342417&sr=8-15&keywords=laptop+tool+kit
I have the same problem now. I asked DJI Support and mentioned to them about the ribbon. They said it cannot be the Ribbon because if it was, my mavic wouldnt fly at all.. My mavic can fly though so I am really confused. were you able to fly the drone before you replaced the ribbon? Many thanks
Best Video out there, Thank you this looks like it has fixed the issue. What did you use to replace the small globs of black glue that secured each end tab?
This ribbon cable repair worked for my gimbal, thanks! Now I'm having an issue where I don't have vision from the camera, I think a connector is likely loose. Do you have an idea of what connections could be the issue?
Thanks for your very informative video. I had this gimbal orientation / calibration problem from the beginning on. Although it always corrected itself after some Auto-Calibration or on/off switching, finally it failed during an important TV shooting last week. So I had sent it to DJI for repair and am looking forward to hopefully receiving it back soon. But my TV engagement was ruined.
I have replaced the ribbon (bought from DJI for 35$) it worked fine first two times I turned it on, after few hours in the bag, tried again and the gimbal problem returned. Do you have any idea what could it be?
Epic tutorial mate my Mavic is the exact same issue, I’m going to Scotland this weekend coming and really want it working for then. Best get my ass into gear ⚙️ Thanks
I've done this repair 3 times now and the camera will start doing this again after a couple weeks...could it be the camera unit itself is damaged? When I put a new ribbon cable in after it starts glitching out it works fine each time but not for long...
AlexWake do you still have the original cable? You could try putting that in and sending back to DJI. I would DEFINITELY look at getting another gimbal clamp. I am pretty sure that's how mine broke in the first place. Other than this I would look at replacing the whole gimbal.
+HughTube I don't have the original part anymore, that piece ripped completely. I just ordered another ribbon cable and the clamp so we will see if the issue persists after repairs...
I.modded my dji mavic pro remote control with 4hawks range extenders. But gimbal ribbon replacement looks bit to advanced for my DIY skills. I insured the drone (not refresh) £4.50 month covers loss, damage. No excess
I recently received this drone from a friend who crashed it and didnt have any idea what to do with it. Everything worked other than the gimbal, it had the overload notification. I followed the instructions and double checked the cables. After turning it on I no longer have a camera signal and it is telling me my obstacle avoidance system if disabled. It also mentioned a firmware update, which I tried and it "updated" but after everything restarts it informs me that I need to update again to the same software. Any tips?
3x replace the ribbon cable last I think, in good condition no blisters on the physical ribbon cable add to my experience. So, lastly you do not have to follow in my footsteps hehehe ... Prepare thinner, any brand that you think is best, remove the ribbon cable wiper, on the socket wipe carefully soak with a few seconds thinner and wipe with a cloth, and try to plug it back .. And it worked ... !! Conclusion do not hurry buy flexible ribbon cable do my way above. Hope you are lucky like me.
Warning to those who need to replace the gimbal ribbon due to gimbal overload error for the first time, looks like a quick easy fix, but not fun after awhile, maybe easy if you've replaced one of these more then once maybe hundred times you'll be a natural. I replaced one a week ago, watched afew vids thought yep got this, some vlogs take ya on a wild goose chase they either pull it apart and don't show the reassembly, or not very clear on ribbon placement as in twist and turns kinda winging it in some areas. Well I thought I got it right after an hour or so, turn the drone on and a puff of smoke and back to square one, I don't know if I screwed the ribbon up while trying to get it right or ribbon was a dud, burnt the ribbon cable just above the camera, camera still works, gimbal still try to calibrate it self, I have not disassemble, but will at some stage. I just brought awhole new gimbal and camera
You amaze me. but the idea of taking pix was a good idea. Heres what I have..Drone crashed from 68 ft. Fell thru tree branches. Vibration error msg. Fixed by moving the tiny tab things under the corresponding places. It seems loose? BUT no message. HOWEVER lousy videos. When I get a rooftop it seems to strobe or make patterns. So it is still vibrating right? Will I have to do that scary ribbon cable replacement? When I calibrate gimbal, it goes thru motions and says COMPLETE. But I have definite vibration. Jello effect. What do you think? Anybody?
Thanks, your errors seem a bit different to mine. Is the Mavic still under warranty? If so send it back to dji. If not you could try to replace the ribbon cable
Just ordered a ribbon to repair myself. Had a repair ticket from a repair shop but didn’t want to send it off for weeks only to be billed an outrageous amount for the repair.
Ive just done this and the drone is acting just like it was before, camera flipping from left to right to left to right. still says its overloaded. any ideas? the whole ribbon cable installation went good i thought. everything securely connected
Thank you, I live in Brazil and there is only one place to fix DJI drones, witch is in Rio, not only far but danger to send to there, and, yes, this things here cost a fortune.
Olá. Comprei a fita e um conjunto inteiro novo. Estou apenas aguardando chegar minhas ferramentas. Estou em São Paulo. Caso não tenha conseguido conserto, avise aqui, pois talvez possa te ajudar.
Hey! good video, it is so clear! I have a similar problem with my mavic: I crashed two days ago and now the gimbal is not working correctly. It is moving when i turn on the mavic, but it doesn't respond to my controller. Everything looks fine, the camera is working fine and i can take pictures and record videos. Under Overall status on the DJI app it posts two messages: 1 - Gimbal motor overloaded. Check weather gimbal clamp is removed. 2 - Gimbal is restarting. Check that gimbal rotates smoothly if restart fails again. How can i know that is a ribbon cable problem? if I would be sure it is this problem i will just buy a new cable and i will not send the drone back to dji (I've seen DJI costumer service is not the best), but how can I be sure? I don't want to create more damages!!
Thanks! I cannot be clear on whether the ribbon cable is damaged on your Mavic, but this is the same situation I was in before. I could use my Mavic in all aspects but the gimbal wasn't responding and kept trying to restart. After replacing the cable it worked again. Make sure you get a good quality cable though.

Very helpful video! Thanks for putting it together. May I ask if you have an update? I replaced the ribbon on mine and it worked for several flights and then gave up the ghost again :( Also, I noticed yours is still banging/slamming on start-up. Mine did/does that too. Any solution for that? I have a sneaky suspicion that is what is thrashing the cable... Thanks! Franny
Mine is still flying strong! Had one odd moment with the gimbal in very high winds but fine apart from that. Yeah the thrashing start up is annoying, no solution as far.
Heidi and Franny's Garage Any updates guys? I havent replaced ribon. My only problem is gimbal goes all the way up and down making a click, app says gimbal motor overload for a few seconds then it goes away and everything works perfect afterwards.
ello guys, long story short, crashed my mavic, powered it on, received overloaded motor (gimbal didnt move at all) i get video tho. Ordered gimbal cable from FS LABS, replaced it, the gimbal moves but i still get overloaded errror and the gimbal doesnt follow controller commands (up / down) Bad cable? something else damaged? Please help, im desperate. BTW, after cable was replaced the camera body is getting extremely hot. is that normal? You know we start to see / feel weird/new stuff when we break something and try to repair it.

HughTube thanks alot great and helpful video.
I buy the cable and I buy the hall camera In case I can't fix the cable:)
THANK YOU

I had the same problem as you. Thank you so much for the instructions. My ribbon replacement was a complete success.
Christ, the Mavic is a work of art!! Feel better about spending all that money when I watch these vids!
The flat cable routing was a little tricky, but my Mavic was camera ready again after the repair. Thanks for the video.
Replaced the cable and the mavic seems to be fixed! I recommend taking lots of photos of the ribbon cable as you remove it step by step. Thank you!
Glad to hear your up and running again!
Fantastic video. Saved me up to £200 to send my Mavic Pro away to get fix. Geez it's a fiddley job. Very do-able though. Absolutely need to have the right small tools for this. had my pops help too!! he was like damn this looks complicated AF but we're going to do it if he did then we can do it too !!
Great video! DJI should pay you for this!
Hi Hugh, this is Maddy (Jay's dad) just subbed. Your vids are very cool and informative. Keep on trucking man!! Good job.
Cheers Manny! Will do and thanks for the kind words!
Thanks a million bruv. Putting the gimbal back together is a pain for real but totally worth it. Cheers
@Kerfala Diane i just Updated last week...and my gimbal not wroking.....fuck
is it natural that gimbal alway hammer at the top metal? 8:27
its same happen to my mavic pro. thnx for answer.
Thanks, this worked for me. Would've liked some cable routing tricks though.
Can I send u
A photo plz as I’m stuck somewhere and would love your thoughts ? (Stuck at 3:50) as you do not show how to clip off the extra two clips before pushing out the gimbal
Thanks for the video. Does the platinum use the same ribbon cable as the Mavic Pro?

hi there, excellent video, but from where can you buy this ribbon?
Nice focusing on the camera!
Thanks a lot, the first video of the startup looked exactly like what's going on with my mavic.
Hi Hugh, Can you please put a link to where you purchased the cables also what adhesive did you use to hold the connectors in place?
Just added it! Also the strip comes with adhesive tabs already on it, just peel off the brown paper tabs when ready to stick down!
Hello Hugh, Thanks for adding the link.

I do drone repair in Orlando FL and this video is one of my tools.. Thanks
You fix drones can you help me out I have a gimbal problem
Thanks. I used this and 2 other tutorials on TH-cam and finally got it!
Share this one to your friend to help them out th-cam.com/video/d26K0ZrObkI/w-d-xo.html
Nice update Hugh. I apologize for being so crass before. I'm still waiting on the forward sensor assembly from China of course. However your update clearly points out those critical forward sensor tabs.

gordy barr no worries at all mate! Can I ask how much it's costing you? Definitely do the video, sorry I didn't make that bit clear!

Hey there, so how did you determine with certainty that the ribbon cable was damaged and that the problem was not something else?
Probably just a guess.
It's a common issue and the flex is always the culprit
Helpful vid and links to the ribbon cable sellers. Thanks!
I'm going to replace my cable; after a crash, my gimbal now jumps all over the place, apparently between three different positions -the image is also sometimes grainy and reddish.
Give it a go, but just remember that your Mavic is still under warranty. Only attempt this if your sure or short on time!
does this mean DJI will repair this at no charge? I just got the drone a couple weeks ago!
Thanks for your great video! It was a BIG help fixing the issue!
Thanks for this informational tutorial. I had the same problem and with your information, it was possible to make the mavic pro working again.
Were you able to see video also? I'm trying to I figure out if I need more replacements. I can't control movement or see video
Everything was working apart from gimbal control
HughTube so I may need a seaprate cable for my video
Thanks for the video, easy to follow and best part it solved the issue !!!
Magic, Thank You so much I have changed the ribbon and all is working normally. Fantastic video
Great to hear John!!
Hi I do not know if it is the same, unfortunately the platinum has only just come out but from what I have seen I assume it is the same as there doesn't seem to be any changes to the camera.
Another Mavic saved. Thank you so MUCH! I managed to fix mine...peace of cake :)
Can you please do a video on how to replace the front vision sensor of the dji mavic, I'm going to but the part but I don't know how to replace it
I will look into it but while the Mavic is working I am a going to leave it alone haha
I am so envious of you....I am obviously here for the same reason you did your repair, but darn, I can t do that.....grrrrr.
haha thanks buddy. Just takes a good tool kit and a bit of confidence.
You're a genius ! I wouldve thrown it out the window half way through with the repair.
haha almost did!
Referring to Arif Dewa....post. what do you mean by cleaned ribbon wiper with thinner? I too replaced torn ribbon cable and same failure. I have done that 2 years ago, and putting the ribbon back is a hudge head twister... I have to do it again, and i am dreading it.. Thank for the video
Thnx for the video. I have landed to a tree and then cannot make gimbal calibration. But i have the video feed. hey, whats that tool kit you're using. with all the little screwdrivers?
Its a laptop tool kit:

thank you for this valuable video - can you share a link/seller for this cable ?
Thks four your excllent video i change the gimbal cable 3 days after start again the gimbal over loading what you thing it is please thks
I have the same problem now. I asked DJI Support and mentioned to them about the ribbon. They said it cannot be the Ribbon because if it was, my mavic wouldnt fly at all.. My mavic can fly though so I am really confused. were you able to fly the drone before you replaced the ribbon? Many thanks
The drone flew absolutely fine with the broken cable so I don't know why they said that.
Same issue with us. The drone flies and gimbal is acting exactly as hughtube is explaining. Will circle back after we try this fix.
Best Video out there, Thank you this looks like it has fixed the issue. What did you use to replace the small globs of black glue that secured each end tab?
Ever get a reply ? I’m in same boat
@@upgradeyourlife3961 it seamed to work I bought a mini 2 and haven’t used the Mavic pro on months
Awesome video bud. Saved me lots of money. Thank you!
great guide, however be pre-paired having a sore neck and taking many hours to do.. very difficult!!
This ribbon cable repair worked for my gimbal, thanks! Now I'm having an issue where I don't have vision from the camera, I think a connector is likely loose. Do you have an idea of what connections could be the issue?
I just had the exact same issue. Did you ever find a solution?
Hi thank you four your video I have a Mavic Pro and now is Said remove the clamp the camera is hoverloding what you thing it is thank you very much
Please help me where do you buy the front ribbon cable that's for the census
I got mine from Amazon but the original listing is gone.
But my TV engagement was ruined.
that's a massive shame, I find it always happens at the most annoying time never when your just doing a casual shoot! Good luck in the future
Thank you, yes shit always happens when you don't expect it.
But now after one week DJI is sending it back to me.
Let's see if it is ok now.
Hugh do you take repair requests? I have gimbal motor overload, bought the drone in NYC, now in AUStralia for 6 months and really need it fixed!
Hi buddy I am really sorry but I don't unfortunately. I would advise sending back to DJI if you don't mind waiting a little while!
I have replaced the ribbon (bought from DJI for 35$) it worked fine first two times I turned it on, after few hours in the bag, tried again and the gimbal problem returned. Do you have any idea what could it be?
thank you nice man for the video. I changed the cable, 4 hours lasted, thank you
Thanks for this vid, I was able to fix our work drone, great video very helpful
@Kerfala Diane I was thinking the same thing .. my drone was fine until I did the update after not flying it for a while. Has to be in the update.
What tools do we need to operate this surgery successfully?
Let me know if you ever ended up finding those?
Nice video but I am still nervous about undertaking the repairs myself.
sometimes the DJI shops are not really that bad if honest.
Where can I pick up the parts and what is the name of the part?
Epic tutorial mate my Mavic is the exact same issue, I’m going to Scotland this weekend coming and really want it working for then. Best get my ass into gear ⚙️
Thanks
hi, can you help me please? I don´t know, how to turn and place ribbon cable on "Y" connector :-(
Are you struggling to clip the connector in or get the connector in place?
I had the same problem on the Mini... gamble was crazy after a crash, but I fixed it by taking out the battery and let it rest fir awhile.
I've done this repair 3 times now and the camera will start doing this again after a couple weeks...could it be the camera unit itself is damaged? When I put a new ribbon cable in after it starts glitching out it works fine each time but not for long...
also should be noted that I did not have the gimbal clamp attachment on because I have lost that piece
Keep me updated, never heard of it going wrong so many times!
Was your camera also getting hot?
I crashed mine. all else works , but behaves the same. Wonder if this would fix 🤔. Thanks for the vid!
sometimes you can tell where the ribbon is damaged by the upper part. ... where the T looks more like a y where it has the s curve .
your gimbal actually moved.. mine doesn't move at all. can I fix that or do I have to said it some place to be replaced
If you have the time to send it to DJI then I would do that as its still under warranty. You may just have to wait a month.
Any tips?
After a second look I realized I pinched the cable to the camera.
I'm ordering a new cable and will replace it. Would that cause the other issues?
It's compulsory to replace cable, may I reconnect the same?
3x replace the ribbon cable last I think, in good condition no blisters
on the physical ribbon cable add to my experience. So, lastly you do not
have to follow in my footsteps hehehe ...
Prepare thinner, any brand that you think is best, remove the ribbon cable
wiper, on the socket wipe carefully soak with a few seconds thinner and
wipe with a cloth, and try to plug it back ..
And it worked ... !!
Conclusion do not hurry buy flexible ribbon cable do my way above. Hope
you are lucky like me.
Thanks for the input!
I don't understand.
Where can I get the tools and the part?
You are THE BESTt guy!!!!!
One of the screws is stripped (the one under the left panel). How would I get that out?
Try with a rubber band. Just put the rubber band on the stripped screw to enhance friction between the screwdriver and the screw
@@Damienvanderavoort Nice!
Very good job! I will try to see if it will work.
Thanks for the video! It worked for me!
If not you could try to replace the ribbon cable
check for a loose rubber under the gibmal
Good fix dude...well done 🙂👍🏻
Just ordered a ribbon to repair myself. Had a repair ticket from a repair shop but didn’t want to send it off for weeks only to be billed an outrageous amount for the repair.
Outstanding! But even if I'm good diy things, I guess I don't have hands for that. Would you repair mine gimbal for a fee?
Sorry Jorge I don't take on repairs
I saw, when it start gimbal, it has crash to upper side. Do you have ant solution for this ?
Yo bruv, did that fix continue to resolve the issue? I just purchased the cable after watching your video.
Yeah Mavic is still working now!
HughTube thank you!
Ive just done this and the drone is acting just like it was before, camera flipping from left to right to left to right.
still says its overloaded. any ideas? the whole ribbon cable installation went good i thought. everything securely connected
Mine didnt quite work either :(
hello I have the same problem but I don't know how to do it if you can help please
This is perfect! My mavic works now.
Well done and thank you, I am now going to try the same, watch this space
Getting the overload message is common when starting up. But did it actually NOT WORK when flying?
It didn't work whether on the ground or flying
Thank you, I live in Brazil and there is only one place to fix DJI drones, witch is in Rio, not only far but danger to send to there, and, yes, this things here cost a fortune.
Olá. Comprei a fita e um conjunto inteiro novo. Estou apenas aguardando chegar minhas ferramentas. Estou em São Paulo. Caso não tenha conseguido conserto, avise aqui, pois talvez possa te ajudar.
sorry but, the app tell you this problem? I ear the clicking noise but no message in my app.
Hi Mirko, by the clicking noise do you mean when the gimbal rotates violently from front to back?
HughTube nono ma gimbal don t rotate like this. i Think the clicking noise is for sonar. i m noob sorry D:
No worries at all buddy!
1. had the same problem
2. get a budget from DJI (~600€)
3. seen this video
4. get the flat cable (22€)
5. replace it (~2h)
6. problem solved
dose any one can explain why after i replaced gimball with original camera from mavic - both gimball and video -dead?
Hey! good video, it is so clear! I have a similar problem with my mavic: I crashed two days ago and now the gimbal is not working correctly. It is moving when i turn on the mavic, but it doesn't respond to my controller.
Everything looks fine, the camera is working fine and i can take pictures and record videos.
Under Overall status on the DJI app it posts two messages:
1 - Gimbal motor overloaded.

Thanks! I did see on another video that just calibrating it several times should resolve it, but I'm a bit skeptical. Glad you are still going strong!
Heidi and Franny's Garage
Any updates guys? I havent replaced ribon. My only problem is gimbal goes all the way up and down making a click, app says gimbal motor overload for a few seconds then it goes away and everything works perfect afterwards.
How long did it take to do the job?
first time it took about 30 minutes, I say first time as I have redone it to test another cable but went back again ha
Replaced 2 cables and still the gimbal rotates back and forth voilently with no video from the cam :(. Please suggest what next?
try checking the connections on the ribbon cable. That's exactly what mine was doing and the ribbon cable solved the issue.
I reckon that they really did think anout this issue with the new mavic tbh
ello guys, long story short, crashed my mavic, powered it on, received overloaded motor (gimbal didnt move at all) i get video tho.
Ordered gimbal cable from FS LABS, replaced it, the gimbal moves but i still get overloaded errror and the gimbal doesnt follow controller commands (up / down)
Bad cable? something else damaged? Please help, im desperate.
BTW, after cable was replaced the camera body is getting extremely hot. is that normal? You know we start to see / feel weird/new stuff when we break something and try to repair it.
May be a dodgy cable, I know my Mavic has always generated a lot of heat but it is a lot packed into a tiny package.
Did you solved your problem? how? I'm having the same problem and i dont know what to do...
jahivan Hi. Did you solve your mavic problem? I'm in the same situation.
some info mates, I have same problem. Have you solved :D
Thank you so MUCH! I managed to fix my Mavic.
