I'm a big fan of your tutorials, keep them coming. I noticed in the Mole Fly tutorial you used Fluoro Fibre, and in the Secret Midge tutorial you used Glamour Madiera. Is there a significant difference between them, and could one be substituted for the other?

Love you getting that wonky piece of dubbing out of there because it won't catch any fish. I was teaching my class how to tie a Partridge and Peacock yesterday and told them to take 5 wraps of wire around the peacock body on a size 14. One of my students said the he got 6 wraps, "Is that Ok?" One of my assistants said "No, you need to unwrap that and get 5 or fish won't eat it." It is our running joke that such minutiae is preposterous but we adhere to it anyway.
I just had a conversation to this effect in the shop so your question is timely. While you could certainly coat the body on these and other thread bodies flies like Black Beauties, we’ve tied and fished them for an awfully long time now without resin and they work and hold together just fine. My thoughts are, don’t solve a problem that doesn’t really exist…there’s already enough of that in flyfishing!
"...and that would prevent this from catching any fish at all." LMAO!
So nice to see the fly stand out against the background =D
I'm for sure going to use there here in southeast Minnesota! Thx

love the rib. When it gets wet I'll bet it looks opaque, like a natural should. Thanks
Is it ok if I store this one in my garage next to my vintage Corvette? Thanks for showing me a cool fly I can use soon on my home waters!

Best midge pattern. Whenever I fish the South Platte it’s pretty much always on my leader
Do you always use rust brown dub no matter the body color?

"hey I'm not supposed to talk about it ...but... hey... we are friends" LMAO
curious how durable that fly is. would it benefit from an application of uv cement along the ribbing? would the uv cement 'ruin' the fly?

The first rule of Midge Club…..
I've tied that up for my wife for years and she catches a lot of fish with it. I use it and I couldn't catch a cold
To be fair, I’m sure your wife has plenty of experience using a tiny thing to get the job done! All credit to you.
