Taiwanese and Mandarin are not similar at all. They are practically “foreign” languages because speakers of one dialect is unintelligible to speakers of another.

@@vincentliu7785 I suspect the Hong Kong person Hash met does not know Taiwanese, so he made the comment that the difference between Mandarin and Taiwanese is only a matter of different accents. This is misleading and wrong! It’s like saying the difference between Mandarin and Cantonese is only a matter of accents, which is also wrong.😠
