Again, this competition is point based, if you want a proper fight with karate, search up Karate Combat competitions or some street "dojos". Also, this is because they are both skilled, so there is less contact and more figuring out the opponent, with high skilled vs low skilled, you can see knockouts due to head kicks.
This is a point based competition so there is not a lot of action at all and even less due to these opponents being very high skilled. There are KOs in lower skilled vs higher skilled matches, due to head kicks. Or if you want something more fight like, search up Karate Combat competitions (boxing rules but its Karate) or street "dojos" (no protection, fight club style but with a judge so that if someone is injured it can be split up), Agayev (the winner in the vid) is extremely skilled and has been on Karate Combat, he takes actuall hits and bleeds everywhere, also they do hit each other in this match, it's just really fast and the padding stop bleeding, but not the pain, ask someone to hit you with one of those gloves, hurts like hell if done with the correct technique (like in the vid).
This competition yes although there were some knockouts from kicks. This is because of the point system. Look/search up Karate Combat Competition, it has boxing rules (knock out or judges) and a lot less padding. And I don't get your Taekwondo thing, it has more padding and I believe this is more dangerous due to no head protection.
Why in karate kumite they jump 100 hours and one punch. This is not interesting to watch like mma, boxing or other martial arts. Honestly I am a karateka too. But I don't like the way we fighting in kumite. This is not fighting this is jumping.
Real life fighting isn't all that glorious as mma and boxing. This is a light contact sparring sport, which is why we bob around for so long. But if you really wanna kick ass or get kicked in the ass you could get into kyokushin
@@thehumourkid7436 yeah I like kyokushin, but now I've came too far in shotokan karate. I am a brown belt. But I don't have the confidence to fight in a street fight. Well I have, but I don't think those blocks are working in real life. I mean this is not practical at all. Kyokushin is so better than shotokan. 🤝
Again, if you are looking for a proper fight, not point based, search up Karate Combat competitions, they have boxing rules (knock out or judge decision) or any street "dojo" which have no protection at all and are like fight clubs. This tournament is point based and these are very high skilled opponents, which means not a lot of action but more mind play, with lower skilled opponents vs high skilled opponents, there are knockouts due to head kicks.
@@generalgrievous6689 Agreed. it pisses me off when people hate on point karate because its "not real fighting" This has so much mind play which I find fun about it. Sure, they kinda overdid it with the excessive-contact thing but it's still a fun way to spar
@@flamepillarx Definitely, sparring like this is also a good way to work on strategy for when you do contact sparring and actual fighting. Also, the sweeps are fun to watch, that's why Aghayev is cool to watch.
One of the best karatekas I've seen in some time. Nicely done Aghayev.
