One of the most beautiful cars of all time in my opinion! And yes; it's nice to appreciate it as a Dino not just as a Ferrari. Looks superb in Marenello yellow too! Another great video; thanks for posting.
And the ones after 208 GTB/GTS and Ferrari 288 GTO always by the same designer Leonardo Fioravanti and Pininfarina..the yellow is “Modena”..Maranello where there is the factory is a little town next to Modena, Enzo Ferrari was born in Modena
I really wish insecure owners would resist putting Ferrari badges on Dino’s. Those that know, know. The rest don’t matter. It’s convenient to emphasize the 12 cylinder story but let’s not forget Enzo was honoring his deceased son by putting his name exclusively on the car. In that way his name would live on. Nobody should override that decision.
Agree 100% today, but we have to understand how the early history of the 246 Dino, and its regard by “true” Ferrari owners, created the motive to belong to the club. For example, at the Philadelphia Ferrari Club events I attended in the late 1980’s (with my blue Euro 308QV,) the pecking order among the owners was palpable. At these events, the locally owned Sunoco blue 365 GT/4 Daytona of Yates/Gurney Cannonball fame was always the king at those events because of its history. Lussos and other older V12’s earned everyone’s respect, and the occasional 400 or 412 four-seater V12’s were curiosities. The BB512 people were proud of their efforts Pinin Farina mid-engined boxer V12’s as the vision of Ferrari’s future. Then followed the 308 group with cars like mine - mid-engined V-8’s that, like the BB and the 288 GTO, were clearly Ferraris of the era. The “poor cousins” were the 246 Dino owners: they carried off the “shine and show” just like all the “real” Ferrari owners, but everybody knew that a car with a V-6 designed in the ‘60’s and with no Ferrari badges was the entry-level car at these Philadelphia gatherings. Prices showed it: a Dino could be bought for 1/2 the price of a 308. I have no argument with Dino valuations today - it’s a beautiful car. But it’s come a long way in the “Ferrari pecking order” from my early days of Ferrari ownership.
Another great 246 example from Coleen! Thx. Please keep finding them for sale. I became a fan of this model when i saw it in a couple of 80’s movies. Saw my first in person in 1997 and it was out of my price range at $50k. I know.. if only…
Beautiful car! These were totally off my radar years ago, since I was so focused on the 308 and 328. Wish I had paid more attention to the 246 when they were still affordable! I think the GT4 is starting on a similar trajectory and getting more of the same "late appreciation" that came to the 246.
One of the most beautiful looking cars ever, timeless........I enjoy your reviews Colleen, well researched!! When its time for me to buy my Ferrari Boxer, I'll be getting in touch!!
Beautiful. Only a word : beautiful. With an engine of only six V cylinders and 2.418 cc represented the entry level model to Ferrari world for many years. Body designed by engineer Leonardo Fioravanti. Engine used in other Italian models (Lancia Stratos -rally queen-, Fiat Dino Coupe and Fiat Dino Spyder)
Hinting towards a 'controversy' may sound interesting to Americans. But the only reason this is called a 'Dino', is because it is his legacy. The twelve cylinder 'thing' honestly sounds like you don't really understand the sentimental value this car has for Enzo Ferrari. BTW: what does your father think about your tattoo's?
Y search Ferrari Dino 246 from you and my navigation Bahamas from my catamaran appartement cabine 5 pièces and place for Dino auf boad you and y bora bora and super sexy feria and Grèce mikonos und Mallorca ibiza ist das ok 👌 👌 👌 for you ok baby

@@rtb62papa - Yes I remember those days. Funny how the passage of time makes people see things through a different lens.
Thanks for posting. Love the Dino. Undervalued along time. I looked at one in the 80s .

Very good video and infomative. It's always been my favorite car.

I never get tired of staring at the Dino - amazing shape, timeless design.
Agreed.

Drop dead gorgeous. Truly art.
Thank you for preserving the interesting history of these cars, very cool 😎 my fav the chairs and flares gts
You can really see how the Dino influenced the design of the 308. It might be one of the more important and significant Ferraris ever made.
In “Giallo Modena”..yellow Modena…magnificent!
They're definitely one of the most amazing Ferrari. I'll have to settle for my 308... much more affordable and almost as pretty.
The 308 replaced the 246. Both gorgeous. Which 308 do you have ? I had a GTSi (couldn't afford the 246 at the time - and still can't !)
@@Lee_Pitcher I've got a 1985 308 GTS. It's a fantastic machine, no doubt.
Subscribed after the Donut episode!
I would love if you'd do a 3.2 Mondial Cabriolet. Or any Mondial. These cars need love.
Beautiful car. I love it in that color.
mam your dream girl of every petrolhead
👍👍👍 yellow is the right color for this car, classic.
The BEST Ferrari.
Very cool car and video. That yellow would look great with a small splash of blue somewhere. Not sure where, but somewhere.
Best videos informative fun and emotional great job!
Gorgeous
Thanks. Definitely one of the 'cool' Ferrari's. Front end is reminiscent of the popular Porsche Cayman. A new 'Dino' would be interesting...
Actually Alfredo passed away in 1956, not 1966.
Holy sh 1 tee.
What a car, to match the storey of where it came from.
No chairs No Flares. Sure its not a Bradley GT? Lol lovely!!!
I remember I used to own this in the 90’s, used it for grocery
But he built and raced 4 cylinder cars in the 50s (the Monza).
Correction. These are not Ferrari bodies, but rather, Pininfarina bodies 😉
....i want a black one.😍😍...i want some of those sneakers too!
It's a Ferrari!
You super love from my auto and Dino Ferrari and fiat
I wonder i this IS the Dino that belonged to Charles Shultz?
Time for a new Dino, isn’t it?
The Kate Beckinsale of Ferrari's
It's a Ferrari, because it was produced and made by Ferrari in the Modena factory.
