    sir ...i am having a doubt about the bend...which you have taken as 3d for a 90 degree bend ....as i know for 90 degree bend the multiplying value of the diameter should 2 i.e. 2*d...kindly brief on this....thank you...

      Yeah you are right! But it depends on specifications of bar, most of the bar used are Medium Tensile Steel Deformed Bars. But in our case it was cold worked steel so the deduction was 3d instead of 2d. You can read IS 2502-1963 for more clarification on this.

    In your PSC girder excel sheet, why did you ignore the lap length in the cutting length? Won't it affect the total weight?

      Let me clear you on thing, You are right, it will afftect the weight, but when we make bbs, we do not include the lap length in it, we only take a percentage of that steel as extra, as there is lap, wastages in cutting etc. The lap length should be included in measurement when you are making a bill. Otherwise it is not necessary.

      And if you wish to include the lap length, then simply make another column and you can show the length with adding lap in it.

      Dear Dwipjyoti, Lap length is not added in BBS at the time of preparation, however reinforcement fixed on site is taken with lap by default. But for your knowledge i will explain how to add laping length in BBS in a separate video. Thank You.

      As you dont know, there is a book called general notes, which specifies all things of the ongoing project, you can also confirm the width of the median from highway engineer.

    Aapne bar mark 1 ka cutting length nikala hai par usme aapne bottom cover 75 mm minus kiya hai L ka size k liye but mujhe lagta hai sayed top cover v minus hoga 50mm , isliye 1760 k jagah par 1710 hoga , mai toh aapse sikh raha hun , maine sahi kaha or galat , sir mujhe batane ki kripa kare , aur aap is drawing ki pura BBS banaiyega aur hum ko bhi pura structure ko samjhne me aasaan hojaye plz

      Muje lagta hai aapko abhi clear nahi hai ki cover kisliye diya jaaya hai, cover ka kaam hota hai reinforcement ko rusting se bachana or steel me grip laana, to yeh jaruri nahi ki sab jagah cover minus kiya jaaye, sirf jaha jarurat ho waha cover minus kiya jaata hai, or humko drawing me L ki height nikalne ke liye value di gayi hai, jo 0.3a hai, to isme muje nahi lagta koi confusion hona chahiye.

      As per your question it seems that you are talking about column I i.e. cutting length column. Look the formula carefully, you will find that all numbers 8,10,12,16 etc. are bar diameter and it is in mm, so to convert these values in meter the value is multiplied by 0.001. Hope you understand this. I urge you to see that column again and you will find the answer. Thank You.

      But next to bar diameter u have taken values 16 to 96 what are these values

      These are the deduction for bends, in our case it is 2d (for one bend) for dia upto 12 mm and 3d (for 1 bend) for dia greater than 12 mm (Generally it is 3d but due to different specifications of steel it varies). For more information on bending please refer to Note 1, page 6 of IS 2502-1963).
