CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Steve (William Petersen) meets David (Mark Wahlberg) on the side of the road and tells him to leave Nicole alone, but David bites back.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Mark Wahlberg stars in one of his first features as a hoodlum drug dealer from the wrong side of the trackswho falls in love with Nicole Walker, an upper-middle-class high school girl (Reese Witherspoon). In this psycho-drama (with the emphasis on psycho), Nicole happily loses her virginity to her first love, but, when she begins to doubt the relationship, his tenderness turns to violence, as he stalks and terrorizes her and her friends and family. The girl's father never trusted him in the first place, but his reservations about his daughter's first serious boyfriend are interpreted as Oedipal paranoia, until the boy and his drug-dealing, date-raping buddies besiege the overly fortified house in a twisted attempt to win back Nicole's love. The Seattle setting juxtaposes a grunge rock underworld with an over-privileged suburban household, and includes a very sexual ride on a roller-coaster. And yes, former underwear model Wahlberg appears shirtless several times.

At first I didn't get why he was hitting himself but after he accused Nicole's dad of hitting him it made sense
Yes, that's how movies work.
he is a typical psychopath...
also with me
@@Yoshwayy “and now I’m going to start beating my chest so I can say you hit me”
"That's Marky Mark"
The acting from both of them is so good. You can feel the hate coming off the screen lol.
Yes you can 😂😂
William Petersen is underrated
I used to watch this when I was younger
Best scene of the movie! The pinnacle of the father's biggest Fear
He's actually quite calm for a father in this situation. If it was other father's, David would be in the hospital in critical condition.
That's exactly what David would've wanted lol Dad goes to jail and he gets daughter all to himself
@@fouada8656 bingo ! That’s why he starts beating his chest at the end of the scene so he could play victim
He snapped later on. Not long after this scene. Broke into his home and trashed it.
He would’ve done Steve like gary
@@nickytommymancinelli8066lol exactly...people really think dad coulda beat mark 😂
OMG. If he talked like that to my dad, he'd be marinating in his own ragu!
which is what he wants.
😂😂😂
If somebody talked me like that I would put him in the trash can and in a not civilized way.........
@@ca294 I would actually like to see someone put a person in a trash can the civilized way.

"Stop Hitting Yourself, Stop Hitting Yourself!."
Anyone else watch this because of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" ?
Yes I did in hopes of finding the relevance but I walk away from this with non lol why did he hit himself I was hoping it would go further
Dennis: What are you doing? What is that?
Mac: Oh shit dude! That's uhhhh....that's....that's Marky Mark in Fear.
Dennis: Oh shit, what?
Mac: Yeah dude and then that shit happened.
Dennis: Let's get out of here she means business.
Absolutely LMAO
+Ojdaweedmane In the next scene, he reveals a big bruise to the character Nicole, and says the dad did it. In Sunny, Maureen referenced it as to hurt herself and eventually blame Dennis, which is why Dennis and Mac were scared and took her seriously.
yep
Wish William Petersen was in more movies. Super talented actor.
Both of those cars are hot. The dad is a badass
There's an extended cut of Mark hitting himself for three and a half hours straight.
I think he was trying to provoke the father to hit him by saying a lot of those things toward him and when that failed he started beating on his chest to make it look like the father was in the wrong to Nicole.
@Edward89 it’s how psycho path’s play the game with being the victim and make someone out as the accuser.
@@Anomalous602 more like sociopaths
@@swiar_d7057 why you say that?? Clearly he’s a psycho path not sociopath.
@@swiar_d7057 Nope. His character was a psychopath. Psychopaths can actually be charming as a means to an end. Sociopaths cant
That's marky mark man
He’s beating his chest like Tarzan!
1:34 Marky Kong
Sheamus brought us here.
It's always sunny in Philadelphia .😂😂😂

"Cuz I licked her sweet tears." Haha, this guy's guilty of being awesome.
I'd be all over his stick mmm lol
bairesgirl oh my gaaaahd
Me too and I'm a hungry bottom.
Annie even now he’s 47 years old
Ma’am this is a Wendy’s
Back then definitely
Damn I've never seen Mark play such a dark movie like this before
Mark Wahlberg wasn’t acting here, this is just how he is.
He was pounding his chest, later on played in movie Planet of the (Apes), and Ted (bear)
0:44-1:02 he just wrecked his whole world
He had him paralyzed w/fear... he wanted to do something... but needed to hear what he had to say...
This movie is why Mark Wahlberg is one of my favorite actors.
I'm learning english,i'm trying to understand the words they say in the movie, but understanding what David says is impossible,he speaks very fast😭
I love this movie
William Petersen is the place between a rock and a hard place for any psychopaths and lunatics he encounters.
My Its always sunny binge brought me here.
Why beat a random object when you can just beat yourself!!
He used the bruise for evidence
I always thought that Nicole dad was way much more cuter then mark either tho he got Gray hairs!
Ewwww
He reminds me of a Clint Eastwood, and Chuck Norris type of guy. Aged well like fine wine.
The gray hair has the last word as say in my country.
Because You like old dudes
William Petersen’s the Man
1:04 - the moment he realized this boy is not just some no good deadbeat. He’s pure evil incarnate.
"Cause I'm the hip to all problems, all of them".
His lingo in this had me sent 🤣🤣🤣
This movie I saw as a kid and got me into Bush
Always Sunny brought me here
LOL me too
Me too :/
Always.
Me and my brother did that punching over the chest thing after the movie to pretend we were a psycho guy. What we began to notice was that you can beat your heart off beat if you use your right hand. I noticed Mark did it with his left. It was like doing reversed CPR. Scary haha If you're gonna do it, do it with your left hand. Pro tip...
Mark's also left handed in real life. Both he and Donnie are.
😂😂😂psychos
Markey Mark was like "Me Tarzan, you aint Jane!"
Thanks to 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia' I discovered this film. Now I must watch the whole thing.
Maureen Ponderosa!
Still my favorite movie
At 1:34 When your co-workers piss you off😂😂😂
The dad bit him, but the deranged boyfriend bites back.
If this movie was made 20 years later, Mark Wahlberg would be playing the dad.
why is he beating his chest?
If I recall in the movie he did that so he would get marks so it made it look like the father beat him up.
He beats himself up to make it look like Stephen did it.
Its to warm up his hand before he self-ejaculates. Its the theme of the movie. Marky mark sells sperm but can only do it when he’s full of anger
@@barrybicepsakafreddyflapja1399 LMAO!!!
His mad at the dad
I can do this to my chest 3 times before calling it quits.
Gil Grissam threatened a teenage Daniel Lugo.
sorry i can never take mark wahlberg seriously xD lmfao hes to funny
The reason why this movie works is because Mark Walhberg plays this role. And the reason why is because he is that guy - not completely, but close enough.
this is basically a shoot from marky mark's life,so he had no problem playing this role
Like if you can here because of Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Why is it always the good looking guys who are as nutty as squirrel shit?
That thumbnail though 😂😂
in the next scene he shows Nicole a huge bruise and says that the dad did it.
This movie is awesome! David is a grade A sociopath
Best scene ever 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
“Dude that’s from Fear” “yo it’s marky Mark”
He’s so hot on this scene 😅
:22 when someone proves you wrong. Lol
he putting bruses on himself so he could tell nicole her dad hit him
I asked my dad why I can’t date my crush and he showed me this video
And said :
“THATS WHY”
David letting him know what peopIe think of him.
one word ..... new kids on the block !!!
Two words...wrong brother. That was Donnie.
I really thought they were going to kiss at 0:33 because of the sudden change in his voice and their sexual tension 👀
That would've been hot AF tho. And then right after that kiss , Nicole father immediately turns David around and forcefully bends David over and start tearing that azz up right in the middle of the road for everyone to watch ! Damn I'm jealous .
This movie is hilarious. Highly recommend.
They make fun of this scene on its always sunny in philidelphia
i practiced 1:13-1:24 in the mirror for my school talent show
if you've seen the movie, after this scene he goes and sees nicole with bruises all over him and tells nicole her dad attempted to beat him up
That's from fear that's Marky mark
no, he bruises his chest in the movie and tells Nicole that her father did that to him.
Mark Wahlberg looks like John Cena.

Im watching it now!
I swear the first time I saw this movie I thought the way he was hitting his chest was some kind of code or sign that means "i'm gonna beat your ass" or "you got something bad coming". Boy did I feel stupid when I found out he was just setting up the dad to make it look like he was beating him

Evan Kirkland the dad is more intimidating

he is a very good actor . unfortunately he has been reduced to action movie roles that bring in the big bucks.

That’s from fear dude! thats marky mark!
Lol I always think of always sunny...”that’s fear dude...marky mark” 😂
That’s why I’m here 😂
this is like mark in real life, he was violent as a teenage. this was prob easy for him. they prob said heres a few hundred thousand act yourself
😂😂😂😂
I always wonder that. It's crazy because he was only a few years on from his various crimes. It was probably like putting on an old suit to act like a violent minded thug again (and this is coming from someone who adores Mark as an acting presence but dislikes him as a person).
LMAO
Mark has said before that he hated doing this role actually and it was hard for him, also he might have been a punk in his younger years but he's a changed guy now.
That is true. Mark has really been seeking redemption. @@Crystasorrow
I was in college when this came out. The theater uptown had a free midnight showing, which obviously ended up fully packed. When he started hitting himself, one of buddies yelled "Come on, Come on. Feel it, Feel it." Most of the theater lost it. I still think of that every time I see a Wahlberg movie.
🤣🤣🤣
Mr. Whit bruh I’m done that hilarious lol
Wait why is this hilarious?
@@leighcarolan6429 same...I don’t see what’s funny about it at all?
@@investinthebest778 oh I found out a while ago haha it's a reference to his illustrious music career, more specifically the fabled one hit wonder: good vibrations 🤣
Lol .When he started pounding his chest , all i could think about is "The Wolf of Wall street".
Well-written and acted scene. Steve is so shook and intimidated by David he's rendered speechless. He can't believe the venom that's coming out of this guy's mouth. Doesn't know what to do. Most scenes would just have them get into a brawl. This feels more realistic.
David showed his true personality and with that Steve realized that Nicole is in danger by his side
@@marcozeballos371ma perché steven ha detto a david che smetterà di vedere nicole definitivamente e ? E david xke dopo il discorso di steven lo insulta pesantemente? Con quelle frasi david cosa voleva dire esattamente?
my stick lmfao 😂😂😂
I KNOW, I thought that was so hilarious!
He’s hip to your problems... ***all of em***
You gotta hand it to William Peterson. That is one of the most bad-ass threats of all cinema history.
He was beating his chest so it would bruise and look like the father beat him up, so he can get sympothy from his family.
Arodblade lol
I thought he was going to work on Wall Street
Not only did he hit himself to create damage to make it look like the dad attacked him he did it out of anger in wanting to physically harm the dad but knowing if he did it’d really push her away.
Props to William Peterson for not pissing his pants after that venom Mark spewed. He handled it like a badass dad that doesn’t give a fk bout what “David” thinks .
Well, its a movie, if pissing his pants was in the script, we would.
0:22 "You know Steve, you really not a f." 😂😂😂😂
1:34 They literally showed this clip on episode 2 of Euphoria as Cassie and Chris were watching it.
Oh yeaaa🤣🤣
