Another good vid. Interested to see a vid with Edelbrock carb, Jwr manifold and tubular headers to see the improvements. A lot of people run that setup in mgbv8 conversions and tr8s and kitcars/customs
Thanks. Well presented as always. Why does the torque production droops off so early on these engines? Restrictive cylinder head and intake manifold design?
Graham, I'm planning to rebuild my original MGB V8 engine (or I might ask if you would be willing to build up the short engine if I brought it to you). I've watched all your videos on the V8 and I have some simple questions on points of detail that would really help me and probably other viewers. Would I post them on here or by some other means? Many thanks for your time and effort in producing these videos for us.
Thanks for the video, interesting as always. I'm guessing the standard intake manifold/carbs are a restriction to higher performance (looking from across the pond).
My dyno will hold a set rpm, so I can vary engine load whilst holding the 2500 rpm which allows me to bed rings. You won’t be able to hold load, so don’t worry about loading rings, it’s more important to do the right thing for the cam. So just run it up on your test bed, then fit it to a car and drive it normally, don’t baby it around and the rings will sort themselves
I used to glue cork gaskets on crossflows on one side, to stop it moving when being squeezed up and sorted the issues of leaks.
Superb Greame, a RV8 video with no pish talking or desperately needed go faster bits. Just fixed as it was intended. Fantastic. All the best.
Another good vid.

edelbrock carb video cooming soon. JWR manifold will kill high rpm power
Another interesting and informative video Graham
Another great video, be interesting to see what engine would do with better breathing carb and manifold
Something similar coming soon
Excellent video!
thankyou
Thanks. Well presented as always.

Exactly what you said restrictive heads manifolds etc etc dont allow the engine to breathe
great vid

mostly intake and cylinder heads, the SU carbs will actually support a lot of power
Interesting vid, what do you do about running the cam in?
20mins @ 2500 rpm
Thanks, I've an engine on a homemade testbed that wants the cam running in. The rings I assume would need loading

@PenguinMotors thanks Graham 👍🏻
Hello what size degree wheel is that?
How much do charge to check and repair rover v8 in stock form Graham
depends on how much work it needs, but currently about 4K to remove strip, rebuild, Dyno test and refit
👍👍👍👍👍
