I helped In past tense verb. It comes under regular verb. In that we had 6 rules to make them as a past verb. We followed 6 rules. For the word 'Help' which rules we are applying to make as 'helped'. Sir, can u please clarify this doubt.

Sir, "I asked my father for 500 Rs" this is correct or "I asked Rs.500 to my father" which is correct.
Both are correct and same meaning.
