- Marcos was one of those who were called into the army as a 3rd lieutenant during the mobilization in the summer and fall of 1941. The U.S. Army has confirmed that Ferdinand Marcos fought on the U.S. side after the December 1941 Japanese invasion of the Philippines until April 1942, after which he was taken prisoner. Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos Sr., CCLH, KGCR was a Filipino politician and lawyer who was the 10th president of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986.

This claim is false. While Marcos did invest a lot in the military during his term, other countries in Asia such as Thailand and Cambodia were ahead of the Philippines in terms of military capabilities at that time. The Philippines also depended greatly on the United States for its own external defense then.

did further research and those missiles you mentioned were merely just unguided rockets. Similar to the Soviet Katsyusha rocket truck during WW2. I'd say these rockets were already obsolete at the time of development.

When Marcos was deposed, Malacanang became pro communists. And they'd make it appoint that our military became weak or totally destroyed by letting it stagnated and defunded, removed the ROTC from college curriculum, put up the party list system to facilitate and government fund these communist representatives. I'm in my late 50s now and I saw all these unfold. We were once a great nation, economically and militarily. Until socialism and communism poisoned the minds of our youth.
Tanks are not suitable in the type of terrain that we find in the Philippines. Urban cities and thick jungles would be hard for tanks to traverse in. Plus consider the fact the Philippines consists of 7107 islands, they would have a difficult time in transporting them around. Something like an Amphibious Armored Personnel Carrier would be more suitable.
What use are tanks in the archipelago that is the Philippines?
As a Filipino, this was very painful to watch. We were once a strong country with the greatest President of the Philippines. But when the aquino's came, and the dilawans, it was all ruined by them because of the jealousy and hatred of the aquino's to the Marcos'. I hope that the Philippines will rise again and become next to South Korea and Japan's economy and military power.
