"We need to make a new boss for KF2.." "Lets take the Fleshpound, make him beefy as hell, add some shit to his face and give him a freakin' lazer beam." "...You're promoted."
quite memorable quotes from a highly educated member of today's society you know? very underapriciated by its time, and very understandably so, the turmoil on europe at the moment is compleatly overshadowing many of the great minds and voices in the region, whom on their great wisdom know that the worries and troubles of this era are gonna carried over the next eras if action is not taken.
I personally feel each boss is terrifying in their own way. King Fleshpound is easily the most imposing, with his size and tendency to run you down. The accompying theme fits well, the silence before the music begins gives this suspenseful feeling, like you're taking in just how huge and powerful this beast is. Volter is downright unnerving, both in appearance and that unlike most enemies, he's actually quite intelligent. A shame he seems to lack most wisdom (calling out his attacks). His theme gives me the vibe of having a final showdown with the epitome of evil. The buildup really enforces just how much he means business. The Patriarch is probably the most efficiently armed, and like Volter, more intelligent than other enemies. Though like Hans, he seems to lack wisdom due to his tendency of calling out his attacks. His theme gives me the feeling that our lives are probably gonna end. We know how powerful this freak is, but we still have to try. The Abomination is terrifying due to just how demented its design is. In terms of actual combat, I find the Abomination to be the easiest of all bosses. Though to be fair, I main medic and gunslinger, so I have the added benefit of distance. Firebugs and berserkers aren't so blessed. The Abomination's theme is really good on the windup, almost like we're processing the monstrosity that's just invaded our vision.
The Abomination, like bloats, take more damage from fire. Because they have poison resistance they are immune to fire. Fleshpounds are also immune to bullets, but weak to exploaives, while scrakes are resistant to explosives, they are weak to bullets. I found if you have a resistance to a damage type, you are more vulnerable to the opposite effect. Firebugs take more explosive damage rather then more poison as well, which is odd.
I remember that when King Fleshpound first came out he was one of the hardest bosses (mainly because at the time his laser was pretty much an uncounterable insta-kill that went through walls) (he also summoned Quarter-pounds far more frequently then he does now even on the easiest difficulty. To the point that you'd have to contend with like 20 of them while also fighting King)
Its actually supposed to be the King Fleshpound theme song, they swapped it by accident lol EDIT: In case people dont understand, this used to be the Abomination Theme song on the Beta.
Shit, I just saw myself in reddit. It's true. But you know, the other one, which is actually meant to be called "Hack Attack", while this one is supposed to be called "Spike Grinder", the one that plays right now during King Fleshpound's boss round - it doesn't sound any wrong or unfitting at all. I mean, some mean, high quality metal fits into *EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING* ! 😊 But yeah, mistake by devs. This here track is King Fleshpound's, the other one is Abomination's. Forgivable mistake, anything goes during open betas.
I am so happy that this IS the kings theme, i said in another video that this one was way too much in your face for the other bosses theme. So happy to see this was meant for king.
The KFP may be an easier boss due to it's low health (it's definitely a glass cannon) but it's always FAST AND CHAOTIC AS ABSOLUTE FUCK, which makes it my second fave behind Volter.
Perfect theme as I run around as the lone surviving berserker kiting him and setting him on fire over and over again until he dies. On a sidenote, I fought him 2 times now so long, instead of running towards me, he just kinda vibrates towards me with with his hands and legs extended forward. Shit looked so funny I almost lost my focus and died on that suicidal long round
Not gonna lie, this is my favorite theme, and boss fight, from the entire game. A hectic, brutal, and chaotic theme for an absolutely mindless monster, as should any horde fighting game with a huge emphasis on metal should always have.
Even if it is just a buffed Fleshpound with a beam attack, a new melee attack and a shield, there is something in his battle that I love a lot. A fast paced boss with almost no strategies or regen abilities: just shoot it until it dies.
I know this comment is 3 years ago But I have to say that this is my favorite theme song and boss in the entire game not only because I like the design of the fleshpounds and their bestiality It's because the fight it's just so fucking good like you say chaotic and brutal with every class You have to parry the boss to avoid his big damage You have to pay attention to his laser bean To his ground attack And you have to shoot to his shield to destroy it And whit the berserker this is the most fun fight you can get
Anyone remember when he first came out and his laser went through walls? Yeah I still thought that was an intended feature so when I came back to the game after a long break this week I nearly shat myself every time I went into a pub game and had him as the final boss...
Fleshpounds in general are a pain in the ass. I would say this boss and voltor when he uses his bombs are the hardest. Whenever I die chances are I can't outrun king fleshpound or I didn't notice voltor throw mines.
Not always tho, music is still fucked up sometimes, like instead of boss theme it can be trader music, and after trader music end - normal music from normal wave.
I haven't played since Christmas, is this the original theme that now actually plays or is it still just Patriarch theme in-game and we're all just worshipping the true King's hail? xD
Alex Pett It's still patriarch theme, for now. Wait until new spring update. Or just enter into the beta (PC only), but king fleshpound doesn't have a right music, since music is bugged. It will probably be fixed in beta update next week.
So as anyone who is curious, there are two versions of every track in Killingfloor 2, one is solely instrumental, the other has lyrics, you can change it where you have one or the other or both. Now I hope for the ability to import songs.

I'd say they on par and excel in their own ways, Killing Floor 2's OST calls back to Classic Metal giving OG Metalheads quite a large dose of nostalgia, but DOOM 2016 installs some modernization into their tracks with Synths and post-production tampering making you feel like some Futuristic Soldier which is what you are but Killing Floor's OST is more like a Urban Rebel if that makes any sense.
Personally I feel 'This I Know' by Demon Hunter fits better. But either way, The King Fleshpound is my favorite boss to fight. Probably because he's literally the fairest one. All the others are cheap compared to him.

hope they do that for mini bosses or something like that, for inbetween boss waves.

For a boss that runs at you full speed while you in all the chaos try to shoot it down
