Thanks for all of that. It's people like you, taking the time to do this video, that helps people like me feel like i know a thing or two about my new watch. Thanks for your help, i did all three of them now. i wouldn't have figured all that without your advice. again, thank you.
What do you mean figured out??? This is all in the quick start guide. How do you have trouble figuring out something that's in one little piece of paper? Also the watch when you first turn it on the first time walks you through all of this steps. why did you need help with that? why are people like you encouraging kindergarten level instructions that are already included? Your absolute ignorance of the quick start guide is wasting the time of hundreds of people. It's people like you that refuse to look at simple instructions that take somebody else to walk them through them it makes the rest of us not allowed to make sure not allowed to get reasonable instructions not allowed to ever get to any advanced point. If you can't understand the quick start guide then how do you possibly understand this guy walking you through the same pre-elementary instructions?
It's rather obvious that the more things you shut down, the more battery time you'll get. If people who buy this watch don't know about ANY of these features, they obviously didn't do much research or read the instructions. I prefer to just leave everything on, have my messages and phone calls and whatever else sent to my watch, allow it to use Bluetooth, Mobile Data, or Wi-Fi whenever it needs it (rather than manually changing settings all the time), I like having my steps tracked. I don't always have my phone with me - which is the entire point of having a watch that can act as a phone for $10/month (AT&T). Leaving everything turned on, including accurate Location, gets me through an entire day without draining the battery and I charge it while I sleep - I don't like leaving my watch on my arm all day and night - especially this one, since it needs to be rather snug to your skin to know that you're wearing it and the display doesn't shut off. Everything that you mentioned may be helpful to people who can't be bothered learning about the $350 watch on their arm, but it's all well documented.
Exactly what I was thinking. Although numbersync constantly connecting n disconnecting is killing me. No real fix for it that I've found. I get about a day out of mine with the same settings u have mentioned and use my original gear s when I charge the gear 3. I gave the gear 2 to my wife lol.
Finally some actionable tips. So many videos telling you to turn off wifi or reduce brightness... I didn't know about the scheduling and this is awesome as I forget to either engage or disengage the setting on a daily basis. Thx
you all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
What percentage do you recharge the battery? Read somewhere that some smart watch batteries have approximately 500 battery cycles before needing battery replacement. I am using a 13" mini tower fan to cool it while charging. Read somewhere that certain batteries don't like heat .
Why don't you make another video on gear s3 about any other useful tips or tricks or may be any other user experience. I bought Gear s3 frontier and your video was quite informative & useful. Would be looking forward for your other video
Dont allow watch batt to drain fully [charge when drops to 20 % ish }and dont let it keep charging when l00 %.Both those shorten batt life more than anything but they will never tell you this
Jason Price Those health selling points are not certified. They are totally inaccurate and a gimmick. I don't have a problem with the feature being on my watch, I have a problem with not completely disabling it.
@@jamesm568 yeah completely agree with this the health thing on the S3 is fine but it tells me ive done 6000 steps while im driving. Should def be able to turn this off. I didnt order a Fitbit.
Great, some else feels that way. I'm sick of my vivoactive telling me to move all the time. I keep looking to see if I have a text. Then I get a long buzz and I think it's a phone call, but no, I get fire works telling me I've done enough steps. And I can't turn it of. I'm selling it. Why can't they just sell a basic, no fitness smart watch that looks as good as the S3. Thank YOU. JD
Good stuff to know. I just turned off my sleep report notification as mine sits on the charger during the night. I set the Do Not Disturb as the charger is next to my bed and alerts are not going off at night.
I put mine on do not disturb @Night and turn off always on. And still the bezel gets bumped somehow and it turns on the watch usually. The sheet or blanket does it. Any suggestions I actually wish I could turn off the bezel or if it mechanically did not turn so easily
What do you mean by "watch style"??..the watch itself is the gesr s3 frontier...if you mean the watch face hes using it is one of the preinstalled default faces already on the watch
do you think there may be certain apps that cause battery drain. I used to get almost 3 days with one charge. but now I hardly get one. i had the npr app so I uninstalled it thinking it might be that
The battery I orderd to replace the old one looks alittle smaller then the one I removed, also the old one looked a little swollen so I'm thinking that was the problem .here's hoping anyway
I just want mine to last a full day. When I first got it I could get a good day and a half to 2 days out of a charge. Now even with all these tricks to save battery I do good to get a full day. So I'm guessing the battery is borked and I've read others having same issue.
Lawren Downing yea that's bazaar you should contact Samsung and try to get a replacement under the warranty. The battery on this watch is fully capable of providing a full day plus.
I used to work with camcorder batteries back in the days when we had the big camcorders..The battery that the cam came with had memory on them.If you don't use all the power that is in the charge and let it go down to 0,Then the battery will only give you some power back, but not all back..So what you have to do is use it until all the power is gone.then charge it back up..I think the gear 3 is working on the same principle as the cam battery..The reason why I know this is because this is the 3th battery I have gone thur on my gear 3..I build a memory so it will not last a full day..Sorry this why the samsung companies make so much more money,so they can charge you again and again for the same product..
I usually charge mine when I have some sit down time, like when I am working, watching a show, or before bed. It doesn't seem to take like 30-45 mins to fully charge.
Thanks for all of that. It's people like you, taking the time to do this video, that helps people like me feel like i know a thing or two about my new watch. Thanks for your help, i did all three of them now. i wouldn't have figured all that without your advice. again, thank you.

Great tips! Another one is to periodically go through which apps are allowed to notify you on the watch. If it's not important then disable it.
This was actually very helpful! Thanks!

Smart Tweaks.. Nicely explained !!
Dont allow watch batt to drain fully [charge when drops to 20 % ish }and dont let it keep charging when l00 %.Both those shorten batt life more than anything but they will never tell you this
with do not disturb on and HR off, does the watch still track sleep patterns automatically. Thanks for this info.
Which watch face are you using. Thanks for the tips. Definitely made a difference in my battery life.
Ken Saunders you find out what watch face thus was?
Shawn Hill The watch face is called Gear Dashboard.
Dark face=longer battery life
Great tips. Thank you.
I wish there was a way to turn that gimmicky Samsung Health completely off. That S-Health bloatware still record steps when I don't want it to.
Perhaps you bought the wrong watch. The "health" features are some of the main selling points of the S3.
Jason Price Those health selling points are not certified. They are totally inaccurate and a gimmick. I don't have a problem with the feature being on my watch, I have a problem with not completely disabling it.

Hi do you know if the watch still tracks your sleep when in do not disturb mode thanks
Thanks for the tips.

Great info. Thank you

No one was being politically correct though.
I put mine on do not disturb @Night and turn off always on. And still the bezel gets bumped somehow and it turns on the watch usually. The sheet or blanket does it. Any suggestions I actually wish I could turn off the bezel or if it mechanically did not turn so easily
Settings --- Device ---- Bezel wakeup

This helped a lot thanks
Can't get mine to last through the day. It's lte version. Any suggestions?
What watch style was that one you used for the video
What do you mean by "watch style"??..the watch itself is the gesr s3 frontier...if you mean the watch face hes using it is one of the preinstalled default faces already on the watch

If you sleep with the watch when do you charge it? My only question
I usually charge mine when I have some sit down time, like when I am working, watching a show, or before bed. It doesn't seem to take like 30-45 mins to fully charge.
What watch face is that, I like it
If you turn off the heart rate completely...does it still travk your sleep and give u a sleep report?
Your report will show you're dead. Hehe.
I just turn my watch off during the night.
triculito I charge at night

it takes So long to actually run down the battery.
Bro, I forgot to charge my gear for the first time (before using).. Is that a problem! Thank you.
