Asunojokei got me into black metal. Such an amazing album they released in 2022 with Island. Play a song from the album at least every other day if not every day
That would be the early 90s if we're being honest with ourselves, peak years to some but I think some of the least interesting albums came out at that time. I actually like when it got more dynamic in the mid 90s to the trve kvlt stuff.
@@kratosdogg8152If I had to guess I would say he was talking about Alcest, but music evolves in time, it would get stale fast if it all just stayed the same.
@@kratosdogg8152 I would say since 1995, not necessarily with Ulver but they were a huge influence on post-bm, along with Burzum's 3rd and 4th albums. Also black metal and metal in general went into more commercial sound after 1994, so that was the year of the breaking point imo.
A lot of the modern black metal is music written by people who don’t even like metal. They just listened to certain bands and thought they could do it.
This exact video is how I discovered Ulver. I was watching this with some curiosity, and when it got to Ulver, I said “wait, that’s black metal?” I decided to listen to the full album and now I Troldskog Faren Vild is in every single one of my playlists.
Black metal de Venom en el 82 es mejor que Sodom y más inspirador para lo que vino después y Nemesis Divina en el 96 bastante mejor que el de Burzum... Siempre en mi opinión. Gracias por la lista me trajo recuerdos
Venom is not black metal? I think you have a little inclination for Bathory don't you? Anyway , there is not a chance in Hell that the sodom Demo in 1982 was the top release of the genre.
@@Davidethvenom is black metal. By all metrics and standards it’s black metal. Gruff vocals, rough production, speed, and satanic lyrics. It’s black metal bro.
1980: Demon (demo)
1981: Welcome To Hell
1982: Black Metal
Venom is actually speed metal
@@h4zmat.pr1ncess did metal archives teach you that?

I’m pretty sure Mayhem’s debut is more popular than Hvis Lyset Tar Oss considering all the stuff that happened around it.
I would've guessed 2002 would've been "The Mantle" by Agaloch, considering how influential that album is

In 80s we know who is first,King Quorthon...Great Respekt for BATHORY...Bathory fan forever

First really black metal sounding stuff imo was Holy Moses - Satans Angel and Hellhammer - Satanic Rites (also a few tracks from their previous demos)
Wasn't A Grand Declaration of War the most sold Black Metal record in 2001? As two years later it was the most sold BM record of all time?
on this channel i tackle the most popular album that released in the year, grand decleration of war was released in 2000
Masters Hammer !!!
Bros deafhaven bias is so obvious. Honestly every pick from like 1998 onward is pretty dog shit minus a few exceptions
?? I can count on like 1 hand the number of bad releases from '98 onwards
So we agree quorthon died and the genere started to become something diferent to the point it doesnt resemble its former self right?
Who did the ratings for this?
Where's Venom and Mayhem?
love the progression to post black and shoegaze stuff with every year
