@@awallace8154 I'm catching up didn't have access to live races then, only in print. & Thanks for posting this, I only know Sadowski from commentary. I didn't know he used to be a pretty fast guy.
@@oceania2385 There was enough factory support then to attract riders like this. When AMA switched to 1000cc superbikes no other team could even try and catch Matt until Ben showed up on the same team. America Honda just quit taking the only rider Miguel who could hope to compete and the other factory teams might as well not have been there they were wasting money to go sight seeing 2 secs behind fighting for 4th place wasn't worth the investment. It takes money to get riders like this to fill a grid something Ama didn't have anymore by the mid 2000s
Quite commendable of russell Edwards ,sadowski, to try and help James win the championship by trying to finish in certain positions to take points from corser but unfortunately it didn't quite work one point difference for corser sealed the deal for the ama championship but what a race .
Ironically, Sadowski pulled over and let Corser by with the promise that he would be on that Ferraci Ducati the following year. He did his part to help Corser but still didn’t get the ride.
No Chicane. No 10A no bloody 10b full speed T12 with tires and hay. T5 Ga red clay... I did all that on a 600 in 1995. Didn't scare me until later. Lol. I will be racing there at the Cycle Jam this Season. And My Lightweight Twin is faster than my 1995 Zx6r was back in the day.
Rather discovering that race than watch a today motogp race, and even commentating is still way better in US 30 years ago than in current motogp
Amen
My left ear remembers watching this in 1994.
Sad. This generation doesn’t know what great motorcycle racing is.
I'm 59 and still racing. Club racing is still awesome! Been doing it 34 years
Loved racing at Road Atlanta..
Colin got that Vanilla Ice hair!
you're a class act Mr. James-
Great post.
The field was huge !
I think 1993 and 1994 were some of the best years for American Superbike.
