I was a new seller and still busy designing t-shirts. I had 17 shirts listed when I got an email to say I had been suspended. No reason was given. I appealed immediately and about two hours later I received another message saying I was suspended forever. They even said we're not going to say why, but it's final, and don't waste our time again because we're not going to look at your messages again. Don't even try to open another shop. I took about two days to have a good look at all my designs and could not find anything wrong. That was a very nice introduction to POD.
@@noneyun9943 and then you need a new address to use as well as a bank account and tax id number. It might be done but would be a lot of work for sure.
How a company justifies no customer service for their own customers but expects those very customers to provide excellent customer service to the buyer. What a bunch of hypocrites! I might have made my last purchase from Etsy!
As a seller, it has been a nightmare trying to get Etsy to hear us! They simply feel we are all replaceable. I have worked with them since they opened in 2006
It seems like the answer should be simply have a button to press before you put up the listing to have the etsy bot scan the new listing and report any problems so you so you can correct
If Etsy's AI bots can immediately scan listings and approve or cancel them, then it may be better to do this at the time the listing is created so the seller can fix the issue immediately BEFORE publishing. Investors need sellers as much as buyers, and sellers need Etsy to help them be successful with the right support tools to make the listing process more streamlined.
That would be a great solution because currently if you re-list a listing that was removed by them, they can have grounds to suspend your shop! Because whatever caused the AI to deactivate it will cause it to do it again and two counts can be grounds for suspension
@@21_f_aus I actually investigated what Disney requires for licensees- TLDR they have some strict expectations on how labor is treated in the production of merchandise. IDK how one could vet print shops etc if one had a POD store with a third party like Printify etc

They treat their sellers like crap..it's crazy to me. I just hear horror story after horror story of legitimate accounts being closed without explanation, real handmade listings taken down while mass produced items stay up and there is no customer service for the sellers. I can't believe they've been getting away with this for so long.
They don’t care at ALL about their sellers for sure! They made thousands off of me and let an AI bot determine I was in violation. I filed appeal after appeal and even sent counters over, they could care less.
@@Miki_Lynn Same here, Etsy is not about people at all. Maybe this havoc they are wreaking on people will in-turn end them. May I ask, which platform have you taken your shop too. I am in the process of having to start over.
That one huge shop that got shut down for owing a couple dollars in one of his other shops, my uncle sold on eBay and a couple years later he tried to start selling again and realized he owed them like $200. He thought all the fees were being taken from his payment method on Ebay. He paid the fee and he got right back on that was $200 not even the seven or whatever the other guy owed. eBay probably isn’t as good for handmade but you can list items for free so I might try it.
I was reported by an Etsy seller a few weeks ago and had 3 listings removed for custom baby blankets. I fully believe they were attempting to prevent additional competition. They claimed I had copied their design (my photos were completely different, blanket type was the same). They also claimed that I had copied their listing descriptions, color options infographic, etc. All of my listing photos were original and created by me. It was as though Etsy employees or AI had not even viewed my listings before they removed them.
Things like this gives me little confidence in etsy, banning, taking listings down etc without really looking, and doing their job, no wonder so many people are leaving etsy, either as a seller or buyer, I opened my shop in 2016 and closed it due to payment issues and just haven't reopened, been looking at reopening later this year, but am conflicted on it but if I do I will have an actual site too so I have that yo fall back on if I have issues eith etsy...
Hey Manda, that totally is terrible. I get that you were the creator of your custom baby blankets and what I drag to have your work removed from the listings. It’s hard to make money if the products disappear from your store. Terrible! and such a waste of emotional energy to have to deal with it. I hope your store gets back on track. Blessings!
Someone I saw said Etsy has to take the listing down. I’m not sure if that’s true, but maybe so you should contact Etsy and tell them it’s your blanket and you didn’t copy anything. Then, if they still won’t put it back up reply to the same email they sent you don’t open a new case.
I had a shop on Etsy for 12 years and last yr they deleted all but one of my listings. No email saying why. No one to get in touch with really to talk to about it. They sent me an email finally that said I used the term FDA approved bags for my cookies! And that was a violation. Now, many other cookie sellers say the same thing and they have not had their listings deleted. I think it is partly because my shop didnt bring in as much revenue as others. Needless to say, I'm done with Etsy! Closed my account.
Maybe try to reply to the email you got from them, just keep replying to the same email not open a new case. I didn’t realize when I was listing some beading cord that the color was Amber and they would deactivate my listing. I wasn’t selling Amber. Messaged them and when they replied, I wrote back to them saying again that my item was not Amber. It was a beading cord and that is the color and they finally reinstated my listing. The other day I was about to list some glass beads and I almost put ivory as the color and realized the listing would probably instantly get taken down again, so I made up a different color name, even though it looked ivory colored.
I'm a legit handmade seller, and I'm in my final warning for "violating their handmade policies", so no-one is safe. They have been taking down so many listings from legit sellers who has been stolen like me, that many of the are just leaving. It's exhausting. Meanwhile, the copycats get Etsy's pick badges 🤦🏻♀️ They could just take a look at the dates when a product was listed for the first time, you know...
I had my 7 year old shop taken down permanently by stating my items were not handmade. I spent 30 hours a weeks making my items. They didn’t bother to reach out to confirm this was true after these AI bots came after me.
@@johnAndersen-ce8jr yes, I know, but then there's no human to talk to, they say they're humans taking a look at it too and they decided so, but no human responses when you chat with them, but just the same responses over and over referring to their policies, which I'm in reality in good terms with they say what they say. It's awful.
Etsy is a joke they have two different people saying you violated their policy New york, and ireland, then one says you are fine and the other suspends your account for good
I have shopped on Etsy hundreds of times, since the day they opened and I'm on the fence about ever shopping there again. I don't want to punish makers, but I'm completely disgusted by Etsy's business practices, greed, and obvious lack of care for the makers.
I hear you I love the stuff I get off Etsy but I have a problem doing business with a company like this and it seems the horror stories just keep coming. Not impressed!
This big question is, can us as sellers, seek legal action against Etsy for unjust shop suspensions? How does one go about this and is it worth it? I counter-claimed the AI bot IP infringement, they had 10 days to respond. I was advised they had 10 days to respond, they didn’t but they still closed my shop.
I just got a computer generated response denying my appeal. No human, IMO, really looks at the shop to help a seller stay in business. Their mass production sellers (ie, drop shippers and major suppliers) more than make up for the small shops they are putting out of business. They are getting many many millions vs our thousands. Just another corporation, non human, robot employees, no soul.
One thing that Amazon does if you want to sell your handmade products in their Handmade section, is that they require picture proof of you creating your products. They also ask you a few questions such as how long it takes to make the product. You would think that ETSY could figure out a way to screen potential sellers before they are allowed onto the platform similar or better than Amazon currently does.
It's quite obvious Etsy is no longer a platform handmade item. There is a ton of drop ship junk, and loads of big time suppliers that were on Ebay and Amazon. Now I hear the door is open to Temu. The times have changed, I noticed this is not only an Etsy thing, small businesses are being put out of business in favor of big business. How often do we see small shops in town or family owned businesses. It's sad, because it takes entrepreneurs to build and maintain a balanced economy. Now, it's all going to the big corps, we lose control of our lives. No choices.
Josh is dumbfoundly clueless about the economy. Has he not looked at the economic numbers of our country? Even ABC News recently pointed out how bad our economy is doing. But Josh thinks it is "doing well"?? I have now lost confidence in him.
All good with Chris' rants! Chris, you explain things very eloquently and clearly... also very "precisely and accurately". 😁 👍🏻 Keep up the great info guys!
That happened to me where I was uploading a tumbler wrap (digital item) in Esty and they took it down within SECONDS of me uploading it for a policy violation. I simply deleted it and uploaded it again but 15 minutes or so they sent me a notice that they thought it was a counterfeit but soon realized it wasn't, Like WHAT! An image of pink and gold marble is counterfeit.. yeah no human looked at that.
I just finished revamping my store and posted some products on ebay other than my personal store site. I'm actually going to update the pics on ebay because my original pics were ugly. Anyway, when my friends tell me, "you should sell on Etsy", I think about your channel. To get suspended for a "toggle" or "checkmark" I don't think it's worth the frustration. I understand Etsy is a big marketplace, but not if I will get ripped off down the line over something stupid on their part.
I had been considering opening an Etsy shop for items I personally create, by hand. At this point there are far, far, too many stories, like this, happening and there doesn't seem to be any method for resolution. I'm staying far away from Etsy. I don't need more stupidity and unfairness in my life.
As a consumer, I can imagine the high number of suspensions, especially of items not handmade because I've purchased lots of items from Etsy that was not handmade! In fact, I thought they changed the policy, so I planned to open a shop for collectibles. I came on TH-cam, did a search on how to open an Etsy shop, then saw your video that was named, "Watch This Video Before Opening an Etsy Shop," (or something to that effect). I've watched all your videos on this subject, thank you both for this valuable info! New Sub! 💥
That makes no sense that if you don't go after people you loose your trademark. If you have ownership of it you have ownership of it. You can be selective on who you go after.
I received notification that a listing had been taken down because “one or more of your listings was flagged by Etsy’s internal systems for violating our Prohibited Products Policy”. The listing was for page tabs that I had die cut. Other listings of the same shape that I cut from different paper were left up. The next morning I received an apology email. 🤷🏽♀️
Why would you ask if Etsy used AI when they literally purchased an AI company for over $40 mil a few years ago? Meanwhile look at all the Disney (and other trademarked stuff) that’s on the site today. 3.8 mil is a fraction on the number of listing.
Etsy wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for trademark infringement. Heck they advertised during the Super Bowl. That was just going to draw people to loom for items for their team. No one on Etsy has a NFL license.
I was suspended within 1 hour with one original design. ID verification submitted twice now. Only bot responses. Super disappointed I have another shop that’s is in good standing.
My sister has had her shop suspended with POD. Supposedly, there was a copywrite infringement. They were original designs and not even created using a template. She has just given up because of all the hassle of just trying to get them to answer her.
I had a shop started last november. , it was suspendend 4 weeks ago. I then created another shop , it was suspended even before i was able to put up my "dummy" product. Yes i appealed, after 3 weeks, i recieved the blanket blurb. My listing had my production partner printify and my designs. I tried to create another shop, now i feel like my ss is flagged becuz i was not allowed to create a shop. I also created my own unique designs and nothing to do with any other brands. My niche was scandinavian boho.
You cant send a robot to do the job of a human being, at the same time sack a lot of human beings. They want good business people to open up their shop, when Etsy dont seem to be good business people themselves...
Regarding Customers reporting "non-delivery". I had a customer adamantly claim, like screaming at me in messaging insisting she didn't get her stuff (custom party supplies). Order was over the $150 Etsy coverage. I provided tracking number to the claim process and FOUND HER PHOTOS ON FACEBOOK, videos too of her entire party with ALL of the products I'd sent her. Provided those TO ETSY, and they refunded her over $400 out of MY FUNDS. Huge hit to my small business. This happened multiple times where I had proof of customers lying to get their stuff for free.
I don't believe Etsy's AI Bot is either accurate or precise. How hard it is for an AI bot to recognize Barbie and Mickey Mouse? Not very. So many search engine's search by photo. All the top POD items are copyright infringement. Since Etsy make money off of each of these listings - no matter what their "rules" are, why doesn't Disney sue Etsy for the copyright infringement? Etsy is doing NOTHING to take down counterfeit items. Everyone knows Disney Characters, Barbie and Grinch for an example. Why does someone has to prove to Etsy they own the copyright to get that listing shut down? Etsy is making too much money off Copyright infringements so they do nothing. Th'at's got to be the easiest violation to fix on Etsy. ETSY should take the responsibility to take down copyright infringements and be proactive to keep those sellers off the platform. By not taking them down they are are promoting the practice by making people (whether they know better or not) know they can get away with it. HOW IS DISNEY NOT GOING AFTER ETSY? Flagging the name will just make people say "Disnee or Diznee" Its the photos they need to scan. ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT.
Buyer protection happens in 1-2 hours or less and 99% of the time without any input, response or defense from the seller. They just steal money from seller and refund buyer.
If a buyer purchases, is received and does not like it, they can demand a full refund and Etsy usually complies. I find that horrific. It use to be us as Sellers that would handle it. Like say someone purchased a scent they do not like, I would replace it. Now we are not allowed that choice. Sadly we deal with people doing this on purpose for free items. And Etsy will not have your back with that either. As a full time seller of 16 years, we should have some legal protections in place!
I watched a video the other day concerning this, she was reading it out, if humans are taking a look at the flagged listings etc, then they're not doing a great job of lookng at these listings... I hope things will improve in the coming months as I do want to reopen my shop, but I will alsobe having a site to fall back on if I either close up permanently or my shop s banned etc... everything etsy has been doing in the last few years has concerned me inregards to reopening my shop, it really doesn't fill me with confidence, I hope they do better...
My shop is suspended since I opened it 18th Feb. Filed multiple appeals, after forever it get's right back to "suspended", no action taken. I have other shop and I know policy, I'm sure there was nothing that violated the policy. Not to mention I was working on.. 1st listing!
Yes whole shop taken down. Nothing copyright or detrimental. Didn’t even state the listing. Immediate response from a bot saying we are permanently suspended.
I only have an Etsy shop since it’s a part time business at this time. When I retire, I plan to go full time on Etsy and hopefully outside of Etsy, too.
I had an order go missing after I shipped it. I filed a lost mail report with the post office and resent the order but they still refunded without contacting me. There was even conversation in messages with the buyer that started when I couldn’t track the order.
I had an issue today having Etsy steal money from me and giving it to the buyer. She got the item delivered two weeks before complaining. I told her to return them and I would issue her a refund. Emailed her a shipping label. Five days later she still didn’t return them. She just filed a claim and Etsy took the money from me and gave it to her. They should have told her to return the items. Now we know AI will let us shop for free. Thinking about calling the credit card company and reporting the charge as fraud. Maybe then someone would contact me. Who am I kidding. The would just shut my store down.
One listing flagged - wrongly- partner was associated, artwork is original -- attempted to contact got the run around-- 15 years etsy seller-- not sure what to do when you are in a kangaroo court - -but I got an idea not to put all my eggs there
I had two listings suspended for a suspected IP violation on an item that was my own unique design. Both times, I received a generic email explaining that it would be reviewed by Etsy. I also had a notice in my store manager. I replied (kindly) to the email requesting an expedited review and explained why. Then I was surprised at how quickly the item was reinstated (both times).
Yes my store was suspended as violation of handmade policy. And I sent all the charms I made in China of 7000 in gold 5000 in silver and I also sell charms and one by one of the listing were suspended and finally 12/15/2023 was suspended. I ended up with tons of charms. No matter how I sent Etsy all the charms pictures from my work Etsy does not even respond.
So what other platforms are Etsy sellers making some traction and sales on other than Etsy? Not saying close our Etsy shops. But perhaps don’t have all our eggs in the Etsy basket. ?? You guys are good! Thank you!
In response to several questions from this posting regarding the copyright of words and images, there is a whole set of federal laws that cover artist copyrights also known as intellectual property. If you want to really piss off an artist copy their work and if you do be prepared to get your butt sued off
Your commentary on IP content and Etsy not being able to take it down unless they get a complaint is 100% incorrect. They can take down anything on their platform they desire. They choose not to by hiding behind the DMCA. This illegal content is a huge money maker for them until called out.
I think Swift should stop people from stealing her money.. If anyone should make money off her brand, its her. I I invented something, I would expect someone to purchase the rights to it. For example, there's a TH-camr who makes pod based on books, and has the blessing of the author. Business is business. Create your own!
Etsy has permanently suspended my account on 4/8/24 for no reason. All of my products are hand made, the pictures were taken by me and are not offensive. This all happened after my 1st sale. I will not get my money from that sale for over 180 days. What Etsy did is not ethical. I have also sent an appeal and did get my reply back in yes 1 min also.
I was selling a smiling caterpillar toy they flagged as drug paraphanalia. 5he email listed item example keywords. I used thier keywords found a ton of drug garbage that actually matched the description.
Chris/Scott, after you mentioned how good Chris was at analyzing Etsy info/decisions, I thought I would ask an unrelated question that he may be able to shed some light on, and maybe even a bit of advice. I hope this is okay. I am in Canada, with a fairly new POD shop. My question is, how much is shop location going to hinder my shop listings from getting USA eyeballs on my products? My shipping location is Florida. Running Etsy ads does not bring in views either, but I did still manage to get a small handful of clicks from those few views anyway. I pick niches and designs with lots of search and competition, so it seems reasonable to me that I should at least be getting a good amount of impressions, even if my designs sucked. Is there anything I can do to make my listings show up in front of US buyers. My keywords are pretty much taken from top seller's listings that make sense for my listings with a few of mine sprinkled in, so this is not the issue either. Or do I have to drive my own traffic? Thanks!
I've appealed several times, and have never even been told why, no emails or anything, just I've been suspended. I actually make everything by hand myself. I changed the name of my store and was immediately suspended and listings taken down.
Hello, another reason for Taylor Swift to go after fake merch is to avoid being sued if the cups are faulty or toxic. Bad merch with your name on it hurts your brand. Thanks for the information!
Thanks for reminding me to go shut down my shop... well I'm keeping the shop, but I've deactivated the few listings I had up for sale. Etsy just doesn't sound fun any more.
I was blocked because they say I was hacked. I appealed it and asked to have it fixed and got no reply. ETSY is disappointing and driving people to Amazon!
Why do they want to know the production partner when on listing it appears for the customers "Handmade" when the production partner is added. Doesn't make sense
I buy my T-shirts in bulk. They are here in my home. Golden is the Brand. I use Canva to make my own designs then print those designs on My sublimation printer. I press my designs into the Gilden T-shirts use my own mockups list the Gilden tag in my listing photos. My question is am I doing anything wrong that will potentially get my Etsy shop Flagged? (Help!!!)
I am so upset about everything. I been a seller for 12 years. I went from making 6 figures to probably making 50 dollars a day. I can't even pay my mortgage right now.
As a person who in the past actually worked for a Trust & Safety Team for a major Social Media Platform (for legal reasons I am not allowed to name it). For content moderation where I used to work the expected ticket count one should have was 85 per working hour (and a staggering 98% score on QA). This part of the work for of course outsourced so I did it working for one of the larger BPO companies. Breaks, meetings and in our case wellness breaks were deducted proportionally so a lower total ticket count was required per day. So in the case of social media content moderation, forget about having minutes on each case/ticket. Actually I also interviewed for a similar role for a market place and they had even slightly higher case/ticket counts so I presume that might also be the case for ETSY, so of course one can question how thorough each review is. Maybe if there is an appeal after the initial review, more time is spent looking into the case.
🔴🔴🔴ALERT!!!!🔴🔴🔴 There are always a competitor who is playing a bad game and they are reporting your listings for no reason. AI takes down the listing without a filter and then you should file a counter notice. Unfortunately not 90% of seller know this stuff. And this is time consuming as well. I would be more than happy to see your feedback about that. Could you please show us how to file a counter notice report? Thanks!
Do you offer or recommend a company/contractor that set’s up Etsy shops for creators? I create and the problems I see Etsy sellers having makes me very wary of selling on the platform and def has made me scrutinize what I’m seeing for sale to buy on Etsy too. Thank you!!
There are a lot of pod stores getting in trouble for just slapping a purchased design on a shirt which is against Etsy’s policy. You have to create a new design by using several designs together.
IF IT WASN'T FOR PEOPLE SELLING ON Etsy. Etsy WOULDN'T HAVE A BUSINESS! THE MORE YOU GUYS TALK THE LESS I WANT TO DO WITH Etsy! OUR GOVERNMENT CHARGES TO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!
I just started got my account suspended.. no email no communication at all.. It was a mistake being new on some of my listings I forgot to add the print provider.. made the change and appealed but I still never received any comm why or a comm on my appeal
For purchase protection above $250, the seller is responsible for the order and they take it out of your account automatically. I've had Etsy refund a buyer before even discussing with me whether or not their complaint was legitimate. The customer claimed it wasn't the right product. It was the exact item. I felt like this was fraud but there was no communication with me. Automated process within minutes. In other cases where a customer complains the item is smaller than listed but refuses to send pictures to prove it, those cases sit for up to two weeks. If neither I or the customer can agree it gets escalated but waits days for a rep to step in and address either of us. Most often I win my case but these open cases seem to affect my views. 😒
My opinion still stans. Josh should be fired. He is losing money for Etsy when sellers are i suspended. Robots/AI is not a person with reasoning ability to understand individual seller issues. Perhaps the best idea is to sell elsewhere.
Doesn't Etsy make money anyway? Even if a full refund is given to the client, Etsy still earns from the listing and possible sales fees and/or commissions. Etsy does not loose the entire sale, they STILL make money.
This is so disheartening as a seller why bother investing time effort and you can just be suspended without a reason!!! Disgusting! How are you supposed to grow your business if your put into a paranoid situation.
Lots of words are copyrighted which is dumb but they are. I got a listing taken down for putting girl boss on a cup but the copyright holder only owned the copyright for cups and if I had it on a shirt I wouldn’t have got in trouble. You have to check the copyright website when putting anything with a phrase on something.
An ai error example, not etsy, is that Airbnb ai has used a photo of a snowy scene on a listing in the prairies to put that listing into the 'ski chalet' catagory. Of course the place got zero bookings. You can speak with someone at airbnb, so they did fix it. (With another problem tho) ugggg ai is really really a baby infant still, that cannot use multiple info points to make a determination. I have more examples.
Etsy is cleaning out all the AI pirates and IP thieves , this is only going to make the platform more value improved … AI is a runaway train wreck for this sites policies and value. Getting rid of all the fakeness of the shops on Etsy.
There are far too many reports from legitimate long-term sellers and people who are getting banned within a few hours of starting to set up their shop for this to be "cleaning out all the AI pirates and IP thieves." Their AI is set to do things that support Return On Investment for investors and minimize the amount of work Etsy has to do in order to prioritize that... NOT to run the platform fairly, properly , or ethically.
If you listened to the video or read the rules... yes. If your listings use one. Listings or shops have been shut down if it's not in the listing. In this video, listen around the 19 minute and 45 seconds - ish... into the video. They completely cover this.
This sort of sounds like the 1099 uber etc people. They're finding out that they do indeed have rights and it seems like Etsy may be on the same path. If so many people who paid for days or months of whatever and then they lost everything, that seems illegal. Keeping money earned and held by Etsy, without compensation seems illegal. I'm not on Etsy so I have no stake in this. I've been looking into it but I'm seeing more and more sites that are in the stages of basically doing what Etsy has done. So there will be competition which may change Etsy. Or allow them to only allow strictly made in the home products if that's what some are wanting. Which is their perogative. But they have share holders so if they tank that wouldn't be good either. Wait and see!

Wouldn't they WANT people to use FDA approved bags?? I mean, if I bought food items, I'd like to know that it's not in toxic packaging!!
That’s awful, they have been attacking my shop too
Just show a picture of the FDA approved bags instead of in the description so etsy cant read it, but yeah thats really stupid
It’s the ai doing that totally
I had my 7 year old shop taken down permanently by stating my items were not handmade. I spent 30 hours a weeks making my items. They didn’t bother to reach out to confirm this was true after these AI bots came after me.
@@johnAndersen-ce8jr yes, I know, but then there's no human to talk to, they say they're humans taking a look at it too and they decided so, but no human responses when you chat with them, but just the same responses over and over referring to their policies, which I'm in reality in good terms with they say what they say. It's awful.
@@Miki_Lynn I'm so sorry for you 😓
yea I noticed some guy with 11k sales and he jacked in his New (mens ties) that same content as mine -- a lot of designs were remade - -its just gross
Same
I hear you I love the stuff I get off Etsy but I have a problem doing business with a company like this and it seems the horror stories just keep coming.
@@phyllisa1720 I’m sorry you lost your shop too. :(. I’ve been setting up a Shopify acct but I’m so afraid the same bots will come after me!
No choices.
If the economy is doing so well as Josh says it is then why doesn’t he hire more customer service reps?
Josh is dumbfoundly clueless about the economy. Has he not looked at the economic numbers of our country? Even ABC News recently pointed out how bad our economy is doing. But Josh thinks it is "doing well"?? I have now lost confidence in him.
All good with Chris' rants! Chris, you explain things very eloquently and clearly... also very "precisely and accurately". 😁 👍🏻 Keep up the great info guys!
This almost puts me off attempting to sell on Etsy….
Not doing it just not going to stress myself out over this
Just don’t bother. The bot will take you down sooner than later
Relying on an algorithmic model is not a sustainable business strategy
AI has effected buyer's also. I won't do business with Etsy anymore . The FTC needs to get involved and fine them and/or shut their business down.
This happened multiple times where I had proof of customers lying to get their stuff for free.
so sorry that happened how appalling!
Good job you guys. Good investigative work along with your diligence to bring this important information.
Yes whole shop taken down. Nothing copyright or detrimental. Didn’t even state the listing. Immediate response from a bot saying we are permanently suspended.
whole store suspended and two messages I received said the same exact thing!!!
Me too. Happened Monday. 39k sales and nothing but a crappy automated decline on my "appeal".
Thanks for answering my question, guys. I've been thinking about it for a few days. Your channel is awesome!
Have read the Report….. one listing was taken down about a year ago …..no warning …..9 listings almost the same were left and are still there .
The mock up has to be of the actual shirt you are selling. You can’t use fancy mock ups that don’t accurately show the shirt you are selling.
I only have an Etsy shop since it’s a part time business at this time. When I retire, I plan to go full time on Etsy and hopefully outside of Etsy, too.
Thank you for keeping us updated ❤
I'm thinking of jumping ship from Etsy. This is not customer services orientated to the sellers.
One listing flagged - wrongly- partner was associated, artwork is original -- attempted to contact got the run around-- 15 years etsy seller-- not sure what to do when you are in a kangaroo court - -but I got an idea not to put all my eggs there
It’s not just the Disney products … it’s everything !! No real value at all … like buying a fake hand made product.
I had two listings suspended for a suspected IP violation on an item that was my own unique design. Both times, I received a generic email explaining that it would be reviewed by Etsy. I also had a notice in my store manager. I replied (kindly) to the email requesting an expedited review and explained why. Then I was surprised at how quickly the item was reinstated (both times).
after 5 years and with no reason (I sell only vintage ) my shop was suspended permanently.
Some day there will be a law suit.
We need it as Sellers. We need legal protections established here in the US!
I think Swift should stop people from stealing her money.. If anyone should make money off her brand, its her. I I invented something, I would expect someone to purchase the rights to it. For example, there's a TH-camr who makes pod based on books, and has the blessing of the author. Business is business. Create your own!
There are so many easy wins they could go for if they really cared. All the “handmade” Rae Dunn items with tags etc
Thanks!
Etsy has banned all of INDIA....
1/5 of the World...
😅
ETSY is dying 😮
I've appealed several times, and have never even been told why, no emails or anything, just I've been suspended. I actually make everything by hand myself. I changed the name of my store and was immediately suspended and listings taken down.
Hello, another reason for Taylor Swift to go after fake merch is to avoid being sued if the cups are faulty or toxic. Bad merch with your name on it hurts your brand. Thanks for the information!
Only suspended my whole shop when I first started 2 years ago. No single listing flags.
Thanks for reminding me to go shut down my shop... well I'm keeping the shop, but I've deactivated the few listings I had up for sale. Etsy just doesn't sound fun any more.
They are using a AI bot called Liva. Some things it claimes is copyrighted is just so ridicolous
I was blocked because they say I was hacked. I appealed it and asked to have it fixed and got no reply. ETSY is disappointing and driving people to Amazon!
Why do they want to know the production partner when on listing it appears for the customers "Handmade" when the production partner is added. Doesn't make sense
Exactly. They will still take you down for using a production partner….smh
(Help!!!)
Typos sorry 🙂
Nobody should just chill out about their brand just because they have "a lot" of money. They worked hard to get to where they are.
Does adding the production partner to an active listing affect it's ranking?
Love the podcast
I am so upset about everything. I been a seller for 12 years. I went from making 6 figures to probably making 50 dollars a day. I can't even pay my mortgage right now.
Reminds me of when Amazon had everyone pretty much take the pesticide certification because that was easier than talking to support.
🔴🔴🔴ALERT!!!!🔴🔴🔴
There are always a competitor who is playing a bad game and they are reporting your listings for no reason.
Report your experiences to the FTC...Plain and simple.
Like listing everything as handmade!
I hate Etsy, used to sell since 2017, I quit a few months ago after they put a 30 dollar hold on a sell I got like wtf
Why don't any sellers become investors? Even on a small scale?
Doesn't Etsy make money anyway? Even if a full refund is given to the client, Etsy still earns from the listing and possible sales fees and/or commissions. Etsy does not loose the entire sale, they STILL make money.
Love your videos but when I watch on replay (to save time speed it up) there are SO many commercials!
I saw all this comment's I just have 3 months with I don't have any sale and make me feel depressed 😢😢😢
I don’t know if Etsy will make it out of this alive it takes one competitor to crush them
I’m interested in who that potential competitor is if you find them
Thanks for the great video. You can't put all your eggs in one basket.
Thank you Etsy for giving me the drive to open my own website 😊
@@jennykay780That’s what I’m doing! I am so mad at Etsy, zero loyalty to their sellers.
This is so disheartening as a seller why bother investing time effort and you can just be suspended without a reason!!! Disgusting! How are you supposed to grow your business if your put into a paranoid situation.
If someone has a trademark for "BOYMOM" does that also apply to "boy mom" with a space? How do you trademark a common everyday phrase?
Lots of words are copyrighted which is dumb but they are. I got a listing taken down for putting girl boss on a cup but the copyright holder only owned the copyright for cups and if I had it on a shirt I wouldn’t have got in trouble. You have to check the copyright website when putting anything with a phrase on something.
@@LindaM1976 oh ya I typically do, but I just never would have thought "boy mom" would be trademarked! Lol it definitely caught me by surprise
I’m so confused! I don’t see anywhere that I can choose myself as the designer, when creating my listings?😅
I had a listing flagged but no suspension.
Etsy first as a brand then build out the brand on my own website
Did you jave a store running already because I will like to share you some tips as an etsy consultant
I listed my production partner and still got suspended after making a sale.
@@nairbvel that too is the AI … as I said it’s a train wreck
Right or Rant - It Depends
Shall I change my existing Listings production Patnerships?
