    Bike-trailer is well made. While camping and sleeping off the ground, can the trailer convert to a 1 or 2 men's tent? Please let us know? Thank You

    Awesome! I have the Burley XC-Coho for my mountain bike and love it. It is a replica and improvement of the earlier Bob Yak. I bet your trailer works well.

      This is where we got the original idea many years ago. Way up on a CND mountaintop with our 4x4 trucks & dirt bikes. Spending lots of time, $ and fuel to get there, and we watched a mtn biker with his bob trailer ride by! :)

      Single 3/8" hitch pin with lock nuts on one side. Very simple and easy to do.

    Great idea, not sure where you get those prices from, $140 for a flat piece of aluminium with 4 holes as a skid plate, over $1400 just for the trailer frame ?? excessive prices

      When you only produce a limited number of a single product, it tends to cost more...and usually has a higher quality standard. The more they produce, the cost should come down...but now, with Biden's inflationary economic policies, the cost of everything will go up...steeply.

      Thanks for your comments. Aluminum skid plates are cut on a CNC router. There is a lot of material and work that go into manufacturing each and every TrailTail. We weld and assembly these in Kelowna, BC, Canada by CWB certified welders. TrailTail can last a very long time and you can use on different bikes.

    Solid swing arm?......so when you turn very sharp, the trailer swings sideways.....might be ok in the dirt....couldnt get me on pavement with that if you gifted me one

    • @Trailtail
      @Trailtail  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TrailTail pivots up and down at your bikes hollow rear axle. TrailTail front swingarm clamps to your bikes rear swingarm. It pivots 50deg left and right. It leans with the bike. Trailtail rear tire is in line with rear tire of the motorcycle. Once it's connected and you are driving you'll want to set a rear view mirror to 'check' that's its there! You don't feel it behind you. :)

  • @slrs3908
    @slrs3908 ปีที่แล้ว

    With the front of the trailer attached to the motorcycles rear axle, the trailer ride is very harsh. You have suspension on the rear of the trailer, but it only does half the job of absorbing bumps. Attach the front of the trailer to the motorcycle frame and the bike's rear suspension will absorb most of the bumps that the front of the trailer now suffers from.

      One of customers rose 15,000miles from Virginia to Alaska and back on a KTM 1290 with 65lbs of gear in the TrailTail. Its unsprung weight. We connect through the hollow rear axle of the motorcycle. The main safety feature is the low center of gravity. We take any loads, say from side saddle or top bags and put this at the center line of the axle. TrailTail leans with the bike. It's rear wheel is always in line with the rear wheel of the motorcycle. Last, we've been making TrailTails now for 20 years. We have a lot of experience, R&D testing under our belts and lots of happy customers. For more questions please email me; tcox@trailtail.com. Thx, Terry

    I like the rear suspension set-up, the external frame but the hook-up o the swing arm lost me. Also needs a longer wheelbase.. same as the bike would be great.

    I would like to know if you had worn that you could attach to a burgman scooter It is A650 scooter let Me knowHow much it would be thank you very much for this video because I have one and I drive it down to Florida every once in a while from Connecticut it would be good to have a little bit more luggage with me stopping on the way I could wheel it ready to the hotel Room

    • @johnklumpp7901

      Suggest googling "Burgman Exec towing trailer" with 'images'. The trailer with blue beginner kayak is my own in earlier version, but I stick thus far with two-wheel trailers. The second line of images may show my TS36 towbar (from Classic Ind, Yandina Q Australia) which is no longer manufactured. This attached under bodywork to left passenger footrest, and behind muffler on right, with dual metal straps up behind rear fender.
      This trailer of mine is a modified Easy Trailer 830TA, and has been used to transport a 320L refrigerator on one occasion.
      Several single-wheel trailers attached to Burgmans also appear with that search term. I do not regard the rear axle of any motorcycle, or motor-scooter, as a preferred attachment point for single-wheelers. Try "Inder-Exports-Motorcycle-Trailer" or "PV41 trailer".

      Chassis weight 95lbs, fiberglass box 17lbs. 65lbs of cargo for off-road and up to 100lbs for strictly highway. You take more care with it on, take more time to brake. Motorcycles in general can kill you, with or without a TrailTail on! :)

    1. Single wheel - no solid weight distribution.
    2. Heavy steel frame, no thoughts towards skimming to the bare minimum of material used.
    3. Bike - trailer coupling.. That's an accident waiting to happen.
    Does it have any certification from recognized institution? From my perspective, it's just another DIY trailer, nothing more. I'm ok with you using it, but selling untested/uncertified product - that's a different story.

      Thanks for your interest in TrailTail! We've been making them for 20 years. Lots of experience with what works and doesn't. 1. For our application single wheel is much safer than 2 wheels. 2. Steel is stronger than aluminum. We've gone through many destructive real world testing. Our current design has optimized strength to weight ratio, material shapes and fabrication. 3. We connect through the hollow rear axle. TrailTail is unsprung weight. You can get a VIN # applied from a local shop. Each province and state has different rules regarding licensing. Please contact me for more questions; tcox@trailtail.com Thank you, Terry
