For those of you hating on this version, give it a chance it will get better. Chris left and that is that. We need to move on and quit comparing Chance to Chris. And Chance is still finding his grove. Geez you guys act like you have never been in a situation where you were new.

Dear Fellow Home Fries...I am reading a lot of comments regarding Chris' absence. Though I too was upset when I heard that he was going to leave, Chance is not a rookie with Home Free, as he has been in previous music videos "House Party" to name one. Chance also has a very extensive music background. His harmony blend meshes well with the group, or they would not have selected him. We were all sad that the co-founder of Home Free has left the group, but he has left it in capable hands. Let's allow Chris to follow his dream. Chris has done very well thus far. His music is well rounded and diverse, and I enjoy it. However, please remember there is only one thing worse than failing at your dream and that is not even trying.God Bless to Home Free: Adam, Austin, Chance, Rob and Tim; and God Bless to Chris. On a more joyous note: I got addicted to Home Free nearly 3 years ago when a friend sent me their O' Holy Night video. Being a bass singer, the bass sound and uniquely tight harmonies caught my ear immediately. It wasn't until I listened and watched several of their other videos that I realized what Adam was doing. Because I am an older man, I wasn't up on the term "beat boxer." I quickly discovered a great deal more about the current world of Acapella. Since then, I have been trying to form a similar group for our church. Imagine that. I get the raised eyebrows, at first anyway.Enjoy all
Go back and listen to other first time live performances of new songs...they are often very rough. I think they did a great job on this! Chance needs to feel his way - he's doing a great job and vocally is fantastic. The rest of the guys have been owning the stage together for years...it's a hard spot to fill and he's doing a wonderful job!

Looking back on this months later, it definitely wasn't a perfect debut performance of a track which is now one of my favourites by HF, but I wish they did their current live performances of this song at a similar tempo to this one. Having it slightly faster just adds to the feeling of the song for me
I liked it...but throughout the song I kinda felt like I was waiting for something. ..the sound wasn't completely right. Then I realized I was listening for Chris.
Even though they introduced him as their baritone, Chance is actually a full on bass. His lowest note is an F#1, only one note higher than Tim's lowest, an F1.
When Tim sings the melody in the chorus, do they have Austin harmonising above him and Rob below him as the baritone would? Or do they have Rob a third above and Austin a fifth above, or something like that. I can't really make out the individual harmonies in this recording.
Actually they seem to switch around a bit, which shows off their amazing vocal ranges. For example, Chance sang bass on "Try Everything" but first tenor in one part of the Justin Timberlake song.
WOW! This is a song that comes on the radio and I change the station. I mean no disrespect to Ms. Morris, it's just not my kinda of tune .... until now! Nice job guys.
Chris had a lot of musical ideas and projects he wanted to develop that would not work in an a capella format. He couldn't do those and give his all to Home Free at the same time. Most of his releases since leaving involve instruments and/or female singers as well as male.
