i remember around 1975 there was a radio station in México City, Radio Capital. They have a program called "vibraciones" This was the first time I heard this great song. I became fan of Jethro Tul after the Aqualung Album. Nothing in this time sounds like this great band. Thanks for uploading.
I hadn't paid much attention to Jethro Tull since ages. But for some reason youtube started recommending them and I have to say at least the early version of the band aged really well. Particularly this song. Probably time to pick up their first albums again to listen to high quality audio versions of their stuff on a real sound system again. Except long drum solos lol. That part of the 70s I don't miss. Often an excuse for the band to step behind amp cabinets and do some coke. The Dead did that alot.
I'm pretty sure they were sober during this period and for some time. Cornick, on bass, may have indulged in some weed. They had a reputation for not being interested in drugs.Anderson especially. He may have insisted that the others stay clean, like him.
Shows that Tull were not actually that hardcore a blues outfit in '68, but on the prog tracks right from the beginning. Every performance of this gem that I've seen or heard from this era is killer and, no disrespect to Barrie (an awesome player in his own right), but they lost something more than just a brilliant drummer when Clive left. A force of nature, I've seen him play with several great musicians and whoever they were he always seemed to end up the star of the show. The lighting, camera angles and dodgy U.S. looking VT quality suggest Tanglewood, July 1970.
Rolita que he escuchado mil veces, solo me faltaba el video. Que chingon!!!!!
This was the greatest lineup! These guys are what made JT one of the greatest bands EVER!
What a force of nature..

This is one of my favorites ... what a great song, and so early in their career. Wow!
6:55 - I've always loved Clive's drumming.

Clive REALLY hates looking at his drum set while playing...
Was this before, or after the legendary IOW performance, before Jimi? I've not seen this before.
Isla de Wight 1970?
Nope. Tanglewood. Less than two months before Isle of Wight.
Ian really hates picking up the flute in this version
