Loropetalum is a good mention. I removed 4 huge ones that were over 6 foot tall and wide and planted the Purple Pixie (1-2 foot tall, 4-5 foot wide) in pots with Creeping Jenny. They’re perfect for the space and the contrast is gorgeous!
Purple heart vines are like a weed/invasive here but IMO are beautiful and low matainance. They make nice white purple flowers and bees love them. I’m putting them everywhere because they shade out weeds.
Great video Crystal. I'm in zone 6. I love the lorepetulem but that's a zone 7. I may get the nandina. I'm so glad you mentioned Jim Putnam, hes one of the best youtubers.
Shoot! It's hard to find purple evergreens too. But if you go with a deciduous shrub you could still get that color from a Weigela or a Barberry maybe?

I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for those! I have a friend who has one and it’s sooo pretty. 😍

Those Loropetalums gets large large! I've been pruning all year. Definitely 7ft by 7ft in about 7 years.
