    I feel like folding to aggression is very assumptive. Especially if you have done any MDA. Especially vs recreationals.

    • @shavuri
      @shavuri  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Does your nl200 MDA point to underbluffing not being a general population tendency? If we were to look at zero filters. This is just my general approach, I'll refine it as we get to know the players - and I agree about recreationals, generally you should be calling them.

    Re 9Tdd looking for value bet on river - I think if we are target 1 pair bluff catchers we just use a small block sizing

    • @shavuri
      @shavuri  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure - you are not often supposed to blockbet in position. If villain is playing river properly and leading out a lot of 2p+ I think this should be ok, but it's definitely very thin.

    cool vids, thanks! I have a question table 2 @9:30 we're calling coz he bet too small, and you said we can apply a small donk otr. I was thinking about this strat few times, could you tell what's behind that? we assumie with this sizing he bets weak hands, draws wich should fold vs small river donk if everything missed? like 10%, 25% psb?

    So at about 8:20 when you fold K9cc to that flop bet, what ARE you defending? Obviously sets, not sure if you have 65s. When they only bet half pot don't we have to continue a reasonable amount of the time? I feel like K9cc is a call there, backdoor flush, backdoor straight, and the overcards. Or is it a fold just cause you're not worried about being 'exploitable' at these stakes, and you'd rather pick better spots?
    I'm just wondering if that's an over-adjustment in the sense that calling would still be the highest EV play. I'm not telling you, I'm asking. Obviously you're a much better player than I am

    • @shavuri
      @shavuri  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A hand like K9s is very borderline here - not a disaster either way. I'd continue AQ-AK, pairs, draws, and the better backdoors draws like KJs KQs. K9s feels strong to you because you're probably not used to checking a cutoff range - and a cutoff opening range is much stronger and uncapped than a bigblind calling range, so it is actually even theoretically just 0ev.

    • @lliliiliillliliiliili5180
      @lliliiliillliliiliili5180 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shavuri Makes sense. Would having the 9 not be a 'better' backdoor than the J for example, since we can turn a gutshot? Or is that just not relevant, and we'd rather have the higher SDV/higher pair potential? Plus I guess hitting a 9 is bitter sweet cause they can have 78

  • @lliliiliillliliiliili5180
    @lliliiliillliliiliili5180 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So at one point your opponent bets the turn and you said youd consider calling against a 'small' bet. But it was like 75% pot. What are you considering a big bet? Pot? overbet? Is there really that much of a difference between a 75% sizing and 100% sizing?

    • @shavuri

      @@lliliiliillliliiliili5180 So villain actually bet 61%. That is extremely small - which is why I was considering calling. I had been ready to fold to a 80%+ bet but his size made it extremely close.
